We also need Trip Hawkins the evil mastermind and his bumbling droid lackey, Threedio

In those time the Electronic Avengers had no resemblance with what they are today. The old Bioware was a young lad who fought alone. Most of the powerful members of the present were not born yet.

Possible backstory for Gaf Man and Master Race:

What is GAF-Man was assigned to protect Neo Gaf by a bigger organization? Like, a government/ Justice League of some sort that polices big Internet Cities. I'd imagine that Bish is the leader of the group, and GAF-Man is his top guy.

Neo Gaf is a city in chaos, and therefor this Bish assigns both GAF Man and Master Race, his two best men, to protect it before it suffers the same fate as it did generations ago (creating the Ruins of Old Gaf... possibly destroyed over the Nintendo vs Sega console wars from the 90s?). Through their years of protecting the great net city of NeoGaf, Master Race allows himself to be taken by PC Gaming--the way of the future while GAF-Man wants all kinds of gaming--console, pc, and even handheld-- to live in harmony in Neo Gaf.

I also think Gafman should be more goofy, kind of like Wally West/The Flash, while Master Race is more serious. Right there, we have a clash in personalities, as well as their goals on how Neo Gaf should be preserved.

Feedback?

(Inspired by Sirpopopop's idea of Old Gaf and kage's awesome comic of Master Race wanting Gafman to turn to PC gaming.)

Pretty good. Instead of Old Gaf, the previous city that failed should be Gamefaqs. It has long since descended into lawless anarchy. That is when when Neo Gaf City was founded, Bish created the Ban Hammer for his chosen champions, to use to keep order.

Hmmm... if we are going the GAFman and Master Race are brother/rivals/former partners/etc route, then should Master Race have a ban hammer of his own?

Trip Hawkins could be like a former leader/mentor who fell from grace. Now he commands a legion of plastic Army Men and forged secret alliances with Panasonic and Goldstar/LG to supply him with military-spec chips.

There's only one hammer, master race tried to wield it but deemed unworthy. Gafman is considered worthy because he repressent all of gaf member, including master race. Gafman doesn't hate master race, he tried to make him get along with the rest of gaf

If we venture with various companies, there should be a epic battle against Activision.

I was thinking that the Banhammer is found in some ancient ruin/temple of Neo Gaf. It's the hammer of legend, kinda like how the Master Sword is thought of in Zelda.

GAFman gets to the Banhammer first, making him the chosen protector of Neo Gaf. Master Race is tired of feeling below his comrad... if only he had that Banhammer! This envy becomes hate, but it's a complicated kind of hate because he doesn't really hate GAFman, he just hates how he feels below him. This is where Master Race vanishes for years, and returns as the leader of the PC Gamers--an elite group of warriors who own computers more powerful than any console.

Perhaps the Banhammer once belonged to Bish? And I like your idea of Old Gaf being GameFAQs. Maybe Banhammer was once the protector of that city before... something happened and he pulled out. Now, years later, he sends his two best men to preotect NeoGaf. He watches over them, but refuses to interfer since he feels as if he's done enough... Maybe he was responsible for the fall of GameFaqs?

Yeah that's how I imagined Junior would look, a super deformed GAFman. If he becomes "official" KeeSomething should draw him.

The Peasant

I kind of like the idea that maybe Master Race and The Peasant are two villains with opposing ideals. The Peasant is a Che Guevera, man of the people kind of figure, and as such could have a huge army of fanboys. He could use guerrilla warfare and try to achieve domination through a grassroots style. Master Race, on the other hand, would have been once a friend of The Peasant until he became obsessed with bettering himself and striving towards immortality.

The Peasant could have strong points in appealing to the masses, but also being a bit naive and overzealous of his abilities.

Master Race would be a more powerful, totalitarian figure, but has made himself so "elite" that he has separated himself from humanity, and is slowly losing touch with reality.

His super powers? None :lol. Wait he can fly, but just like Tails in Sonic 2 he only flies to catch up with you or piss you off (he can't fly when he wants to).

Your guy was so cute I made one too:

Awesome *high five*
Also it's more appropriate that he is drawn by a junior :P
<< stopped being a junior about a week ago.
Although the blue gives him more character than he should :lol, try one of the colors of GAFman's cape (either yellow or orange/grey).

I see Junior as a Kenny-style character.

Junior: "Don't worry, GAF-Man! I'll save y-..." *Gets vaporized, leaving a charred skeleton which quickly crumbles*
Master Race: *Lowers smoking hand, energy dissipating* "How many times have I killed your sidekick now, GAF-Man?"
GAF-Man: "Four? I don't know. I've really been going through them. Last couple of weeks I've just been hiring kids out of the fan club. You would not believe the lawsuits I'm facing."

OMG xD
He should only leave the glasses and the scarf behind, maybe the propeller too.

And maybe Juniors gets numbered like Robins? "This is 352nd Junior".

Maybe Junior function like Skeets--Booster Gold's floating android companion?

Here's a pretty good idea of how Junior could possibly function:
http://youtu.be/8hOEKmlYCYc?t=55s

Junior would possibly humanize Gafman as well as give him someone to talk to. Aside from just looking up to him like a big brother, Junior could be useful-- he could have a 6th sense that alerts him when a thread is under attack by spam, trolls, or flaming.

I thought of this on the way home from work.

GAF Man has sub-allies that he assists or assist him, as the case may be. We have...

Nin -
The oldest of the main 3 assists. A ninja who is used to making more with less, he has several powerful techniques in his arsenal. Strangely, he sometimes chooses to limit his power, although he has been effective nonetheless. He's mysterious in his ways, but he never ceases to draw attention to himself through innovative fighting techniques and occasional stubborn refusal to update some of his styles and habits.

MicroTitan-
The newest entrant into the gallery of assists, MicroTitan is a hulk of a man, muscular and brimming with weaponry. Used to have issues with his sweat glands, limiting his battle potential and occasionally causing a coma in the middle of the battlefield. Has excellent communication skills and will gather allies... at a price.

Solstice -
A constant challenger to Nin, Solstice is now cooler, faster, stronger after his previous rivalry with Nin but suffers from a lack of resources. Once a powerful playboy, he is now of the verge of bankruptcy after acquiring new gear.

GameBoy -> Advance -> Dual Strike -> Third Dimension
Nin's sidekick, a young Robin-esque figure when he first joined Nin he slowly grew in powers and strength. As he grew, he changed his moniker to suit his new capabilities. (Think of his progression like Batman:TAS Robin -> Teen Titan Robin -> Nightwing)

Portable -> Vengence
Solstice's sidekick, a proud young man of prodigious strength. Sadly never had too much money growing up, and ended up having to steal a lot of his powers that could have been otherwise legitimately got. Now back in a new reincarnation, he aims to be versatile in ways his mentor never could be.

Few opinions I wanted to throw out there:

1. The DRM villian aka. Dr. M is just hilarious!

2. I also vote for the grimdark serious Gafman.

3. Junior is awesome.

4. Anyone ever watch the first Haloween episode of Community? Somehow I picture Gafman to sound and act exactly like this.
I couldn't find the actual scene from the episode because of the copyrights, but I was ROFLing when I noticed that one of the characters looked like Master Race.

I know a lot of GAF want Master Race to be a good guy, but he just doesn't fit the profile, in fact I would make him like a megalomaniac fascist dictator who doesn't tolerate non PC users and tries to kill them. GAF Man is the protector and uses his ban hammer to no avail because Master Race has the support of EviLore and G+Man.

Perfect. GAFman should have some sort of alliance with SonyMan for the console wars.

Love this thread.

Just some thoughts.

Master Race/Peasant: He is the next evolutionary step for man. But everything he has was made for the Peasant. So he should always complain that his underwear is too tight. Or when he uses a power, it must always go through some sort of warp field that diminishes the power greatly.
This warp field could be called "The Port". What could be is that he started all powerful but Peasant is slowly siphoning his ability.

Gafman should have a villian that he completely despises. This villain should have been GafMan's friend in the beginning but this villian created so much distrust and misinformation it caused the Villain to lash out and create his own kingdom, from which he Continuously plots to destroy Neogaf and Gafman. This villain should be called IOI. He should be a Media mogul who hires out Supervillains to do his bidding. He also has the ability to cloud peoples minds with false information.

Perfect. GAFman should have some sort of alliance with SonyMan for the console wars.

SonyNINJAS

Gafman should actually be afraid of Sony Ninjas

I like the idea of there being a single Junior TBH. Us Juniors need someone to look up to! :D

Junior An abandoned child in the land of NeoGAF, Junior pesters GAFman, dressing up as him, adopting his mannerisms (poorly) until GAF Man finally takes him under his wing. Junior must defeat 300 enemies and aid GAF-man for at least 90 days in order to prove his worth. Unfortunately, Junior is extremely near sighted and as a result regularly charges in to battles thinking he can handle situations that are way out of his league.

Powers- Flight, a stylish scarf

Arch Enemies- The Grammar Nazi.

A possible origin for The Grammar Nazi:

With Junior's *tendency 2 speak with, out regards 2 grammar, rules* and his overuse of smiley faces, the well meaning Junior turned a mild mannered English Professor into TGN. Seeing chaos in the denizens of NeoGAF and their speech, TGN seeks to maintain strict and rigid order wherever it's not found.

edit: I can remove the mouth if anyone wants, I just wanted to make him seem like an emoticon.

Grammar Nazi doesn't really sound like a good villian.
Could be a neat minor character, though.

Lord Grammar

An upper-class man with the power to speak perfect English, all the time.
However, if someone speaks less than perfect english, and he hears it, he will beat them to death with a thesaurus.
GAFMan goes to him for all his strange confusing words that make you sound smarter needs.

Oh god yes.
*constantly hovering by GAF man* "I believe in you GAF Man!"

Perfect, although he wouldn't need an arch enemy since he is only a sidekick.
But Grammar Nazi could also be a minor villain or a lackey to a villain, that is until Junior gets his own mini-series and they both become so badass (in their own way).

Edit: the mouth is ok but it's slightly too "derp", Junior shouldn't be aware of his joke character status :P
Also he could probably use some freckles on his face.. even when masked.

I think having a villain named "The Peasant" just sounds kind of dumb. You could incorporate the concept of a console warrior into another kind of character, but that kind of name sounds self-deprecating. It doesn't fit the attitude of the villain that would be a console warrior.

I really don't like this junior idea at all. It's a completely different tone than many of the previously accepted "canon" GAFman ideas.

Love the art deco thing, the cape isn't really working too well with the silhouette, though.

Maybe he could be out of the normal GAFman comics, but he'll have his own spinoff series.

For the kiddies.

Agreed. The design is good, but it looks kinda out of place.
