The Humble Indie Bundle 3 is now live! [Now Can Include Bundle 2]

all of them on pc at least. because. pc. controllers. pc. PC.
Huh? I know that Vvvvvv at least doesn't support gamepad on PC, not even the new version. I had to setup Xpadder for it, which is an app that translates controller input to keyboard or mouse.

I missed the first two bundles which had more interesing games, I wish they rereleased the old bundles for a limited time, like just a couple days.

I'll wait for the forth bundle and hope the games are more appealing.

I'm sure they have a lot of spare money from the free software they use. It explains the $2000 someone paid.
That was notch, developer of Minecraft, who seems to have later upped his donation to around 4000

Last time they eventually gave away the old bundle to anyone who had already bought the new bundle. Maybe that will happen again.

Notch always gives generously to these Indie bundles. I probably would too if a game I designed out of my house and sold exclusively on my own website made me $50 million.

But that wouldn't get them more games in the future, while making sure interest is known will.

Or more like as linux users don't have to pay for other software, they have more money to spend on paid one.

TL;DR: Linux users are rich biaaatch ;-P

Pretty broke right now so I only gave a dollar. Why do these always happen when I have no money? I was rich 2 months ago!! RICH!!!

I marked myself as Windows and not Linux as I usually do (despite using both equally) because I gave a small amount. Have to keep that average up!

I always donate money to people making games on Linux. Not a lot of people make games for it so we're grateful when someone does.

Came here to post how awesome I think it is that notch paid 4000, but was beaten. SO, I will just post my average price of 15.
I think he had 2000, got beat, and put it to 4000.

Already own VVVVVV. Love that game!

The rest... Not so sure. "Crayon" was kinda fun for a while, "And Yet it Moves" wasn't. Overall a lackluster lineup.

Might donate accordingly or add a little more just for VVVVVV.

That's honestly been one of the best side effects from the Humble Indie Bundle; it shows indie developers that Linux users are willing to pay for games and that they can be a group on par with Mac users in terms of demand.

Yeah, I make a point to pay more repping the Linux community.

I noticed that many of these games are now available in the Ubuntu app store. Overpriced (Braid = $20), but still cool to see.

I'm just wondering, shouldn't that be the Humble Indie Bundle #4?
The first bundle contained World of Goo, the second one contained Braid and Machinarium, the third one was Trine and Shadowgrounds or am I mistaken?

Is the Steam VVVVVV getting the update with C++ and new save system?
It just did.

No, that third one was "just" a Frozenbyte special operation, having only one dev/pub. Which is why it didn't count.

Paid 10 bucks for it and i'm sure it will be worth every penny!

It's always a pleasure to support indie developpers, as they are the ones NOT screwing us up with lame business practices.

I downloaded all of the titles and then used the steam activation code on Mac.

So as noted earlier, two of the games show up in my steam library, but say "unavailable". My question is, is there a way to make those entries in my steam library open the games I downloaded, or am I stuck with two entries for each in my game library? Basically, I'd have the NA entries, and then the two links from adding the separately downloaded games.

Not sure I'm using the proper terminology here, hope someone understands me.

Also, anyone having issues with Crayon Physics and Cogs on Windows. The prior comes up as a white screen and the latter is a painfully slow and unresponsive slide show, but only on my work machine.

Ah I think I said that wrong. Ment to say that I was beaten in saying that notch paid 4000.

Interesting...so I need to download it separately?

Damn :(

Its a really small download. Only 200mbs for all 5 games combined.

Watching the live stats, so many people paying $0.01
Which is why they offered a bonus last time to people paying more.
I hope they do it again. Though I already own the first two. If they give some bonuses and maybe more games in this one before the end I might pay between $10-20 again. Even though I already own VVVVVV, which is the only game on this list I am interested in. Maybe AYIM.

I can't believe people can be such cheap scumbags :/

I can. Most people are selfish assholes. I think the guys that put these bundles out are morons for not setting a minimum so they at least break even on fees and bandwidth. The bundles would still sell to the people willing to pay even a little bit.

"Hey guys, all Humble Indie Bundle #3 customers get to play Minecraft for free until August 14th!"

From their twitter. Nice deal for notch probably.
Anyone knows how this works? Are we getting an email?

Want to "gift" the trial code to a friend, because I already own Minecraft.

EDIT:

Found it:

On your download page, you get a special code that you take to minecraft.net/humble/ and you're good to go!

Ended up buying 2 copies for $4 each; one for me and one for a friend, even though I already had VVVVVV. I usually give a decent chunk of money to developers and the EFF and give less to Child's Play along with a fairly large humble tip so that they can keep offering bundles in the future! And it's not that I dislike Child's Play, I just think they get a lot of support already and would really like to support the efforts of the EFF.

You'll have two entries. You could always set Steam to only show Mac games on your games list though.

How does that work? Honestly, I've browsed the Mac Steam interface and never found that.

Well, it's finally happened. I've not bought any humble indie bundles because it's always been the case that I've already owned some games in it, but this one's gone the whole hog; I already own every game in it.

I love the bundles in principle, but they just don't hold up against how vulnerable I am to Steam sales :-)

Edit: Actually, on that note, do you get one steam code for the bundle or one per game? Next time one comes along, if it's one per game, I may gift away the titles I already have.

Edit2: In case people haven't noticed, for VVVVVV: http://distractionware.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=6bb6c699b60c2525a2dbd795207e56cd&board=7.0

I love how Notch always has the top contributions.

I do wonder if the people with $1000+ donations basically are oldschool gamers and as soon as they saw the high-score table, they felt they had to be at the top of it!
