Is Vice City coming next month or will it be delayed?
They just announced a December 6 release.. It also got a thread.

I were thinking about Amazing Spider-Man and Endless Road earlier. But I guess I'll get Street Fighter X Tekken now it's on sale for iPad Mini.

Do GAF like it?

EA sale time again.

I bought Need for Speed Most Wanted, $4.99. Awesome that I can earn points that transfer flawlessly to my Xbox 360 version. Game is amazing looking, haven't put too much time into it so far. Definitely has a WOW factor.

How is it? Debating getting it for someone...

If you enjoyed sf4 volt, well it's apparently worse in controls and it's filled with bullshit iap stuff.

hurrah!

And I've been really digging asphalt 7. Game is super smooth, and I think Gameloft might almost be there at getting the controls right.

So did I! What's your Origin ID? I need more Origin friends with the game on iOS/Android :(

I'll save my money for Vice City. Got a lot of free games anyway. :)

Am I the only one who can't get Lost Winds 2 to work on iPad Mini? It asks me to tap the screen but nothing happens. Actually, I'll try reboot my device.

PikPok is releasing OREO: Twist, Lick, Dunk today, a free to download universal game which is a cross between Fruit Ninja and our Slam Dunk King product.

It has ads, it has IAP, but maybe an great little distraction for yourself or the kids over the holiday with different OREO cookies to collect. The team is already working on the first update to add more content, features, and polish.

Should be available on all stores this evening.

I am thinking of buying an iPad but I have some questions on getting iTunes to behave a certain way.

I want my devices to sync to my PC and copy/update my apps locally to the PC.

I do NOT want my devices to pull in apps from the PC that aren't on the device.

Is this possible or will I be stuck handling everything manually?

Sure.

The last time I tried syncing apps to iTunes, it deleted half the apps on my iPad with seemingly no rhyme or reason. I was forced to restore a week-old iCloud backup to get my stuff back. iTunes has not infected my PC since.

Just witnessed a super cool story twist in Knights of Pen&Paper.

The game ROCKS.

Oh yeah the game is amazing. What twist was it?

The only thing I don't like is the fact that you can't use your characters in the other stories. I bought like 5$ worth if IAP gold to boost them, and they are confined to a finite campaign.

I really miss games where I can chat with other players online either by text or voice. And I'm not talking about word games. I know NOVA 3 has it (I never got it to work greatly) and Shadowgun Deadzone has it if you pay for it which I won't,

Aren't there any games where you can walk around together and chat? I remember there was a "mmo" with a Japanese style early in the iPhones life that I played.

Why is it, that there aren't many games with text/voice chat support on iOS?

Yeah, that's what I am afraid of, I've rarely had positive experiences with iTunes and syncing devices in general.

But I'm also compelled to have things backed up on my PC in case things disappear from the app store.

Any impressions of The Walking Dead and/or Bastion on an iPhone 4S? I've got $25 just begging to be spent and I'm extremely tempted to take the plunge with those two.

Both are generally fine ports on iPad. I personally don't care for Bastion on any platform but am rather fond of The Walking Dead. Bastion also seems like it would be difficult to play on a tiny phone screen. That said, TWD is a lot pricier than Bastion.

Been playing it since it came out. Definitely the best NFS yet on iOS, but that isn't really saying much. The game is generally very fun to play, and the sense of speed is amazing (especially on iPad 4 with smooth framerate.) Beware that there's IAP, and you will have to grind races to get the best cars.

The cops are very annoying. They have a tendency to ignore all other racers and focus on you, whether you're leading the race or at the back. Their maneuvers to crash you are also very scripted and repetitive. There's also horrible rubber-banding with the other racers.

The number of tracks is kind of small, and you'll go through them many times, but the game is still fun overall. It's a solid arcade racer.

Well, I do not know if I missed something big before or they added things with the update...but I was just completing all quests before continuing the starred ones (where I hit a wall...I don't want to spoil things)...doing so I found another super long branch of the main storyline I missed before which is tailored for my level (or a bit less).
I'm gettin tons of banter now about the main quest...incredibly enjoying all this.

Doing that:

All of a sudden I got a cutscene where the 'real' world (Master+People in the room) and the Fantasy world got mixed...all thanks to the Dark Mage...I found that pretty cool

I do not know if I was supposed to get all this before the part when I am now (tailored for about level 40), but it's too cool.

Is there a way to transfer save files between iOS devices?

If the game supports iCloud syncing, yes (assuming it's well implemented by devs and not bugged).
If the game doesn't support it, and devs didn't use another method or their own servers, no.

You can use iFunxBox (free for PC, doesn't require jailbreak) to navigate inside the documents folder of the game inside your device to copy the savegame, and then do the same to paste it on the new device....works like a charm assuming the savegame is 'exposed' in the directory tree of the program (usually it's so, but there are few exceptions).
It works, but obviously it's for a limited use (like you buy a new device and do not wan't to restore or your fav game just went universal and you want to continue on iPad).
It isn't that handy if you want to play during the day on your iPhone and during the evenings on your iPad (you would have to sync every time you want to switch device).

How does the Penny Arcade (Rain Slick Precipice 3) game go in iPad? It's been on my wishlist on Steam for ages and it only just occurred to me tonight (while downloading Yesterday, incidentally, another Steam wishlist title) that it existed over here.

My understanding is that it's a freemium Groove Coaster game with unique content. I definitely look forward to checking out the original, though.

That's exactly what it is, yes. Quasi-sequel. Also, i believe if you own the first game, those tracks unlock in Zero? (?)

Totem Runner (free atm) is pretty great except for the completely unnecessary requirement to hold down the "button" that sows the plants etc when in the humanoid form, that should just happen automatically as long as you're in said form. Other than that even early on it seems to require decently precise gameplay if you're going for 3 star level finishers. Variety probably goes downhll soon but still, it's a nicely made game and looks great in motion.
Got to agree that the sow button is pretty useless, I guess it could add some difficulty in three starring in case you forget to press it but that never happens. I'm just glad you can change the bird controls to buttons because the tilting is less than adequate. Very fun and good looking game, even people who are tired of runners may enjoy it considering it has a cool formula and it's not endless.
