Damn it I want the Arc Squadron update but I'm afraid of losing my save. I have just about everything unlocked. Anyone try it?

Also, Hill Climb update sucks. The new vehicle is terrible and the new levels are kind of crappy low-gravity tracks.
 
So a while back I remember I may have did a friendly thing by dropping a line in here about a game that a few ex-coworkers worked on: Kunundrum and Polara. Well, I guess things haven't been going well at all, and despite all the good reviews and feedback, it looks bleak for them. He ended up writing this over at Penny Arcade Report:

Major sites such as Touch Arcade and 148apps praised the title as an ambitious breath of fresh air in a dried up genre that boasted incredibly fun and challenging level design.

They also focused on the initial price of $0.99 cents claiming that it was a steal with all the content and replayability offered. Eli Cymet of 148apps wrote, “The masses cry out for solid design, fresh ideas, and rewarding gameplay. Hearing them, Polara emerges from the shadows… And with the whole package going for under a dollar, this is a rebellion to get behind.”

We considered a free app-a-day giveaway, but we doled out over 140,000 copies of Kunundrum for free over the span of a year, only to see 60-100 sales in return over the week or two following the promotions. It wasn’t a viable solution when our game is not full of IAP content.

For nearly 2 years every person involved within the company has not been able to draw a salary. Without any form of backing, support or return on sales we must consider closing down and moving on to other forms of employment.

I had a pretty shit-filled experience with that update, actually. I attempted to update the game and, despite having a rock solid wifi connection, it said "waiting" for almost four hours without any progress whatsoever. So, I deleted the game all together and when I went to the App Store to re-download it, I was prompted to re-purchase for $2.99 despite the fact that I already paid for it once.

Polara is an awesome game - anyone who hasn't played it should at least think about purchasing it. It's a fun runner with a blue/red changing mechanic that reminds me of Outland for the 360/PSN.
 
I'm surprised nobody's been talking about PONOS's Battle Cats.
It's pretty sweet! And completely playable for free. I'd be keen to know what other people think.

Update went smoothly here fwiw, my save is intact too. I didn't even know it was supposed to cause problems, otherwise I'd have backed up my data before doing it. I guess I dodged that one.

It is chapters. You have to find clues to unlock a box, with other boxes in it. Each clue leads you to a different puzzle on the box, some are pretty clever.

They required position because some clues are hidden from some perspectives.
 
Just spent 2 solid hours playing Burrito Bison. Will give them money for sure, good game. Shameful it took a price drop for me to try it
 
Lttp but Knights of Pen and Paper is sooo good. I just wish it had cloud saving so I could start a new game with my new classes on my iPhone instead of my iPad.
 
So anyone here playing shadowgun dead zone?

Its free
Gears of war like gameplay and visuals
Online only (death match and zone control modes)
Slower pace compared to fps so touch controls work better
The freemium model works pretty well to the point you don't need to spend a penny to enjoy it.
Cross play with android and iOS (got it on nexus my self).

I'm really enjoying it and hope more devs see how good games can be on tablets when done right. Its made by mad finger who also made dead trigger and the single player shadow gun games. Both those also have controller support as well (for the nexus you can plug an Xbox controller and use it). I hope more devs add this controller support and apple add it to there devices to. Would be amazing if cross device play and controller support became standard.

Dead zone doesn't have controller support which is kinda understandable to create a level playing field I guess.

It plays better on iPhone? Thinking about buying it, but don't know if I should play it on iPad or iPhone.

I don't expect it to play any better on iphone, I just want to play two games at once with different classes, one on my ipad and one on my phone.

Either device though, just buy it.

It brags that its dictionary is so huge that you couldn't possibly know as many words as it knows and not to worry if it looks like it's accepting gibberish. That was probably the issue. You just can't have more than one incomplete word (yellow letters) at a time.
 
Battle Cats is just digital crack. Once you get to level 8 you can start sending and receiving invite codes so you can get free gifts, building up to a rare cat type.

Anyone fancies helping me out towards getting the rare cat my invite code is ct7c0, we'll both get 10,000 bonus xp too.

Enemy descriptions once you unlock them are pretty damn funny

So many games... between everything shiny and new, and continued, inexplicable addictions to Happy Street and Puzzle Craft, the giant backlog of PC gaming goodness awaiting on Steam is getting well out of hand.

Must avoid BG:EE, now that will be a potentially serious time-sink.

I know why I did not pick that game up. 1st I've got lots of runners already, good popular ones for free too.
2nd I remember shots of cut scenes with cyber babe with big tits, thought it was a bit try hard from the developer to go for the titillation angle to get attention.
3rd avalanche of iOS titles and a huge back catalog, my purchasing decisions are quite quick. If nobody mentions the game again I've forgotten it.

What. I didn't know Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was on iOS.

Has anyone tried the port? I loved the game on PC, wouldn't mind buying it again if the port is serviciable.
