I've only tried the lite version but Cause of Death seems to have an interesting and mysterious crime story.
I can vouch for Cause Of Death, I've been really enjoying it since launch. Not sure about buying it now though, you'll have missed weeks worth of episodes and at 59p for 2, they're not cheap to catch up on.

I am looking for a running game like this one, but for iPhone. I don't want extra buttons or double jumps, just jump or roll.

Canabalt is the obvious suggestion since it is basically the same game, but there are tons of others. I personally like Dalton - THE AWSOME! You play a kid running from a pack of zombies, all you can do is jump or if you hold your finger down he jumps a little higher. Only other change over the game you linked to is that there are occasional power ups that if you time it right you can jump and grab, these offer guns that shoot zombies in your path or things like tanks and skateboards to make you go slightly faster and be able to run them over. It is VERY simple but the power up system combined with the fact thta you can upgrade the power ups to last longer using dead zombies is a lot of fun.

Not sure if this game has been mentioned here but I NEED to recommend it:

Cow Trouble

Trailer

Super addictive, cleverly designed levels, and hilarious sound effects. It's a REALLY fun time. It keeps giving, too. The game rolls out new ball types as the challenges progress. It always kept me scratching my head to complete the stages or get better scores. Some of them tend to endorse devising a neat, self-contained Rube Goldberg-esque solution to their puzzle.

I'd be curious to hear what other people think about it.

Quoting myself here blatantly just to pimp this gem of a game. Perhaps I'm alone but I'm still playing it frequently and I don't think enough people have experienced it...

...and now it's 99 CENTS, so no excuses.

are there any worthwhile children's apps? Like Sesame Street of Dora or anything? My daughter loves playing on the computer, figure it might be easier for her to play something on the iPod touch every once in a while.

Yes, there's actually a new Dora game in the "New & Noteworthy" section. Seems like it's getting love.

gah how odd, I updated itunes a few days ago using apples automatic downloader and launching itunes now it says missing files, reinstall :S

I know that I won't lose anything but annoying when I have to do it all manually.

Where's Waldo is a nice standby.

Does anyone with an iPad 2 recommend Real Racing 2 HD ? Reviews at the AppStore are kind of mixed, specially first generation iPad owners complaining about the game.

I'm asking before expending $9.99 for the game.

Thanks for any comments !

I'm liking it a lot. It feels really good with the gyro sensor. I think the iPad 1 complaints are about the graphics. iPad 2 version looks great.

NeoGAF's MAD SKILLS MOTOCROSS challenges

Yo WHITEHAWK (aka Kowaku)... You're such a pain in the ass! :P
I've yet to beat you on Nice and Easy (PRO), don't worry tho I'll take that last crown away from you asap, nananana!

Goddamn man... First time I seriously tried to get into some Nova 2 multiplayer since I got my iPhone 4. I loved the game (mostly the multiplayer, not so much campaign) a lot on my 3GS already but now that I got used to gyro aim assist this is just AWESOME. I'm also owning almost every game, so if anyone here's any good, add me on gameloft live :D. (reese015)

ANGRY FAMILY (Universal) is FREE (until monday iirc).
Best played on iPad; mario vs donkey kong meets lemmings meets chu chu rocket meets rpg-ish (that's what FAH cheapskate said anyway, not me).

Done :)
i"m still king on SHOWSTOPPER (PRO) (posted last page) but the situation has changed on the NICE AND EASY (PRO) track, although it seems whitehawk (aka Kowaku on OF) is still unbeatable and _abu_ is not bad too, daaaamn!
Of course all the profiles in this challenge are only from GAFfers on the list (I can only show the top7, sorry guys) and not my IRL friends, so if any of you guys want to check the complete leaderboards without waiting for me to post them, just add each other freely from time to time.

It's free in Canada too.

Mission Europa is out.

Well, the Collectors Edition is, the Standard Edition is still under review and should be out soon.

This is the work of one man, code, art, sound etc and took 1 and a half years to create. If you like FPS/RPG hybrids ala System Shock with grid based inventories, vast amounts of weapons, summons and all that jazz, you might want to check this out.

Shots don't really do it justice, but here are some anyway:

What's the difference between standard and this version?

From iTunes:

Exclusive Collector's Edition perks
- All 5 episodes included
- Game is open to immediately explore with the teleporter
- 2X the armor sets (You can wear enemy armor and flesh when they are found)
- Epic Sword
- Saintly Armor

I assume the price will also be different. I'm waiting for the standard version for now.

free in the US now, but the HD version isn't I think that might be what's confusing people?

Alright GAF, I just got an iPad yesterday and after loading up on productivity/school apps, I'm ready to look for some games to have fun on this thing. Is there a definitive starting list of some of the best games for the iPad? Could anyone tell me what their favorites are? I can't go through this entire thread right now.

Little Things
Infinity Blade
Flight Control HD
The Incident

I can't believe how badly Lumines is handled. First off, there only seems to be a lite version. No full one. And the website seems stuck in 2009. No iPad update. Yet the game plays so much better on the iPad. God, I would kill for an iPad version. It's all I need.

It probably won't do anything, but I shot off an email to Q? to see if I get a reply. If they still exist that is.

Tried the free Audi promotional Asphalt 6 contest game, the graphics are pretty decent and it really shows that Asphalt is finally becoming a little bit more of its own thing rather than a shabby Burnout copy. However... I'm assuming Asphalt 6 has the same 'fluctuating' framerate as the Audi thing? This game would be lovely if it was solid 30+ fps and the framerate isn't *bad* but it just has slight fluctuations very regularly where it drops too much for the game to feel as smooth as it should. It's too bad cause it looks like this could be my favorite racer if that issue was handled. Any Asphalt 6 players that can comment on this?

Holy hell, Bit Trip Beat is awesome. But hard. But awesome. Well worth it. But I'm not sure if I want to buy World of Goo a third time. Even if I would probably enjoy it the most on the iPad.

Might want to tweet Q or Mielke to get a response. Lumines used to have a full version on the store but has since been removed. Not sure why. An iPad version would be pretty awesome, though.

Mission Europa is goddamn awesome. Can't recommend it enough.

It's like Kings Field meets PSO meets System Shock.

Can't stop playing.
