So which ones of these are worth a damn?

Also is there any way to shuffle songs on Tetris? It just plays in alphabetical order if I turn on the iPod option.

The point of the list is that most all of those are worth a damn if you're interested in the game. Spore is questionable, and I haven't tried the baseball game, but you almost can't go wrong with what is listed.

Pac man is a blast, it's the same game as the XBL game but for some reason I liked it better on the iphone. Be warned that at 99 cents it's only 25% of the game, it makes you buy another "expansion" pack for 3.99, totally rip off, but 5 dollars is a fair price.

Bought bit.trip beat for the iphone and the ipad
The game is awesome
for the iphone tilt control is great , for the ipad touch control is better

iphone version on the ipad 2x

Love that Angry Birds has GC support now. I never bothered signing up for Crystal so it was great to get half the achievements already. I'm also #1 on my friends leaderboard right now, but I've only got about 45 friends, mostly GAF members.

If anyone Angry Bird players wants to add me to GC, my name is "Porthos".

hows super monkey ball 2? ive never played a monkey ball game ever but i know people like them. is this a good version and does it control well?

EDIT

Picked up Spider and Super Monkey Ball 2. I will sleep on Mirror's Edge and Peggle. I can't believe I'm saying this but I almost don't want to pick up Peggle... I played the heck out of it on the PC and I've got too many other iPhone games to play! :D

Just bought Spider. Always wanted to get it but I'm too much of a damn tightwad, although I couldn't resist getting it for a buck.

Is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 any good (controls-wise)?

Just bought Mirror's Edge for $1.99, I'll finally pick up Real Racing as well. Some great deals in that list. Thanks RBH :D

I wonder if there's so many iPhone games on sale because iPads are cannibalising game sales.

I know I prefer to buy iPad versions when given the choice.

I just spent 15 bucks on 12 games.

The iPhone is awesome.

THPS2 isn't that great. It looks exactly like the PS1 version , but the touch controls are crap. It's about as good as they could do, just not precise enough for the game. I paid 5 dollars for it, but 2 dollars is still a bit much. Not the original soundtrack either.

Has anyone played Puzzle Agent on both the iPad and iPhone? Is the difference big enough (in terms of the larger screen and so on) to make it worth that version, or would the iPhone one work fine on the smaller screen?

Are the iphone versions of Geometry wars and Pacman CE worth getting? I've read a lot of mixed things online but would like to hear some gaffers input

My brother's first iPod/iPhone/iPad game just got accepted and it's called Banana Splitz: Munky Smash. He's the programmer, his friend is the designer and it's the first entry in a minigame series they plan to get going.

Costs only a dollar and is fun enough to warrant a purchase. Has online leader boards too!

Game play is simple and rewarding. You have to string together combos by not missing a monkey (think Guitar Heroes) which earns you multipliers and gets you a high score. You also have to avoid the 'Cooky Nuts' which knock off a lot of health.

Description said:
In a land far, far, far, far, far nearby, Munkys chose to invade the land by popping up at randomly located darker patches of ground. It was decided by the council of bearded harradins that to be rid of this Munky Menace, YOU would need to take action!

Your Objective is to Smash the Bananas out of the annoying Munkys (by tapping on them) and score points along the way.

But beware of the Cooky Nuts! They pack a world of hurt and cause you to lose points.

Increase your points by racking up Multipliers and compete on a Global scale to reach the Top 10!

Play in Classic mode for top rankings!

Play in Arcade mode, choose your level of difficulty and get the longest time for bragging rights!

Smash the Munkys till you drop!

Just downloaded Spider, Monkey Ball 2, and Puzzle Agent, and I'm gonna try out that Monster Mayhem game since it looks like Plants VS Zombies and it's free. Considering Bit.Trip.Beat.

Fake edit: Fuck it, bought Bit.Trip Beat. It looks way cool and apparently the music rocks so for $2 I'm in. Glad I had $10 left on my iTunes account :lol

So you're saying it should be $1, or is that still a bit much? If you mean free then why not say it's not worth any money?

Wondering about Geometry Wars myself, I can comments on Pacman CE though. If you know the game then this one plays the same but with a bunch of extra modes tacked on. The Missions are basically a shitload of boring tutorial levels. The main mode is the same as the XBLA one, albeit with different maps*, and the other mode is the same but with faster scared ghosts (so they're harder to catch) for the first 10 maps, then the dark maze for the last 5.

*The main XBLA map is the last one in the DLC. If that isn't important to you then the first included one plays pretty well too. It's like a simpler modified version of the XBLA map, it flows well and has good variety to it.

The standard game has something like 5 main maps and 20 missions while the DLC adds 10 more maps and like 100 missions? The only thing I play is the XBLA map or the first one really.

Control wise there's swipe, dpad, and funky screen button mode. I use the latter on my iPhone (takes a while to get used to) and swipe on my iPad cause the blown up controls are too big to play with well. It looks nice on the iPad at least, it's one of those games that scales up pretty well.

this is the greatest night of my life

aaah, i still remember mine, it was the summer of 1989, it was hot, humid, and i had all the things i needed, with just a girl by my side.

too bad it was my sister, and she helped me connect everything that the nes needed. It was still my best gaming night of my life

Holy shit Bit.Trip BEAT is fucking insane. I suck at it pretty bad but I am playing the iPhone version on my iPad so the touch controls cover a larger area, possibly making it a bit more difficult.

I bought Civ Revolution and Super Monkey Ball 2. I'm really impressed with SMB2, it looks and plays great.

Also, can anyone recommend good games that utilize your music library? I don't just mean it plays in the background of the game, but something that integrates it into the gameplay.

This sale is insane, just auto-bought Osmos and my mouse is hovering over ZENONIA2, I really loved the first one too, but I can't make up my mind.

This week's purchases:
ISUD
Texting of the Bread
FF1
FF2
Puzzle Agent
Osmos
BIT.TRIP.BEAT
Pizza Boy
NS Hex

...good grief. Portable platform of the forever.

I finished Chaos Rings. It was aight. I wish every game on the platform (Civ4 aside) didn't feel like a demo or minigame, but clearly the vast majority don't mind, as evidenced by sales (and this thread). Nothing wrong with minigames, but the iPhone is capable of so much more.

What I'm saying is that it doesn't work well on the iphone/ipad. Touch controls aren't responsive enough.
