DangerousDave said:Again, this is ok for a "video editing", or "audio mixer" app, that is not the app of an average casual user. But forcing the user to use an external PC application (or even if it's the iTunes file sharing, that is quite obscure) to copy again the same content that it's already in their iphones, in the iPod app, in a file format (not song format) is not the best option for a game.
It's not intuitive enough for a casual game. You dowload Audiosurf and there is no song in the library, even if you have it full of songs. You have to connect to iTunes (because the http file transfer option is even more difficult), go to apps, scroll down to the hidden app file sharing, and then copy the files of the songs to the icon of audiosurf. Also, each time that you update your songs, you have to manage manually the app file sharing, adding the new files and substracting the old ones.
So, music duplicated in the device, file management instead of song management, manual adding-substracting files, without any relation with the current tracklists that you have in your device... a lot of cons.
Reese-015 said:Again, iTunes is not needed, you don't have to do anything choose a track in the app.
How do I upload songs to Sonorasaurus Rex if I am not able to use iTunes or dont have a USB cable handy?
Sonorasaurus Rex also has the HTTP Server option in the settings as an additional way to get tracks into your library. The following outlines how it works:
1. Make sure your iPad and computer with the songs you want to add are on the same WIFI network.
2. When you are in Sonorasaurus Rex click the Settings button to access the HTTP Server.
3. Turn the HTTP Server ON and you will be given a unique address.
4. On your computer, type the unique address into a browser like Safari or Firefox.
5. A file upload screen will load in your browser window.
6. Use this interface to upload your tracks to the Sonorasaurus Rex User Library.
Why cant I access my iPod library with Sonorasaurus Rex?
Apple currently has restricted this type of access for applications like Sonorasaurus Rex on the iPad. The restriction may be lifted with the release of os4.2 this fall. If so we will bring in iPod library connectivity in a future update.

Reese-015 said:There's a misunderstanding going on.
This is how it works:
In 1st Video, I can just tap 'import', it then shows my iPod music library in the same way that would happen when I open 'iPod' to play music. I can choose any track and then use that in my video editing. For an AudioSurf-like game, you can just rename 'import' to 'choose your own track' and make the process completely seamless, except for perhaps some (minimal) processing time to duplicate the track. It still isn't ideal, but it's pretty good.
It really almost doesn't get any simpler.
edit: so yes it seems like that restriction that you talk about has already been lifted
Maybe you missed my earlier question, but how's the expansion, and how's the fantasy card game?
I play it but careful, servers are up and down more then a yoyo and theres a lot of random character wipes going on due to the offline bugs, might want to go easy on the game for a little until they fix things.Mejilan said:Anyone playing the surprisingly decent freemium twin stick top-down shooter with neat leveling and equipment mechanics called Gun Bros.? If so, would you like to swap Bros. with me? The default level 1 AI grunt I'm stuck with is beyond useless at this point in the ge for me. He doesn't even last long enough to serve as a decent fleshwall to slow the waves of baddies down.

Shocking, I know.

Been thinking about it for a while and now I'm glad I waited :lolUltimoo said:Not sure if you guys know this but World Series of Poker Holdem Legend is free right now because free app a day. I bought it for 99 cents and it's a pretty decent poker game if you're looking for some poker fun on the go, I've sunk countless hours into it already and finally won my first WSOP.It's well worth 99 cents if you like poker, but since it's free, no reason not to now.
Shanks said:I sincerely doubt that Capcom will update the app to take advantage of any of the new resolutions. It's a DS port so the resolution is terrible to begin with. It is still an amazing game that is worth picking up for a couple bucks anyways!
It sucks because I wanted to wait until it was free, but I broke down and bought it because I was watching a lot of WSOP on T.V and wanted to play some poker. I've already sunk at least 10 hours into it, so the sting isn't too bad now.Enco said:Been thinking about it for a while and now I'm glad I waited :lol

Three free games a day, not bad for demo play I guess.
Correct, they added iPod library access in either 4.0 or 4.1. iirc it works by letting you copy the file from the library to the app sandbox (and maybe decompresses it to AIFF in the process, I forget) then the app can do whatever with the audio from that point, including waveform/beat analysis, editing, etc.DangerousDave said:I'll check this app. The description says that this feature is new, so maybe they allowed that info since 4.1.
