Not feeling Galaxy on Fire 2.

I dunno... combat feels like a chore. There's no speed control, so you can't do some of the most basic dogfight manouvers. Other than that I can't aim very well with the virtual stick (I wish it was more like a FPS) and the weapons (so far) lacks the "oomph" to make shooting satisfying.

We'll see if it gets better. Only two hours in.

Maybe I should have bought Modern Combat 2. :(

It gets better specially after the tutorial. You have to buy boost to go faster, you can also purchase new ships, gear, even hire wingmen.

Not really feeling Age of Zombies a great deal, but bought it because I wanted to give them kudos for finally putting out a Universal app instead of splitting the iPhone and iPad versions. Also, the humour is pretty bad, but may work for the general public, I guess. Will play it a few more stages to see if it heats up, though.

Hope you continue a bit more -- we've got some great reviews, but it is interesting reading about the humor. We've seen a few of those mentions for the iPhone, but almost never on the PSP. Different strokes I guess :)

Still, we're taking a LOT of feedback. We even have a big feedback button in the game that allows you to directly contact us with opinions and bugs if you encounter them -- anything to help make the game better in your eyes. We've been getting some great feedback too -- multiple paragraphs! Wouldn't have expected that at all via an iPhone or iTouch program.

Just wish the bloody iTunes store would update the Top downloads / grossing lists! People only see those lists sometimes, and we should be up there with the "Game Of The Week" promotion on the US iTunes store.

Oh, glad to hear you can buy a booster.

Any tips on making money? Also, some parts say they improve the handling of the ship, but I couldn't tell the difference. What exactly do they improve?

some ships handle better than others and of course the best ships are the most expensive. Your best bet is to purchase a retractor to use as a tractor beam to scoop up packages from pirates after you blow up out of space. Pirates have some of the best items. I got the second best booster rocket and shields when i got my retractor.:D

Organ buying and trading is also a great way of making money.

if you have openfeint add me "neojubei" or gamecenter "tonyatf"

Have either of you tried tilt controls much? From the reviews I read, they seemed to say that that was THE way to go.

Nope never liked tilt controls on any game. i am too use to the on screen gamepad.

Cut the Rope is the new Angry Birds. Except it's good.

So awesome. :D

Yeah, I'm beginning to feel that the handling does change now that I bought another ship. Game is getting better, but I still have a hard time aiming.

It's alright. A little too slow though, even with max sensitivity. To get a sharp turn (which is all the time when in combat) you have to make a 45~60 degrees turn. Not ideal.

Ok, played a couple more hours of Galaxy on Fire 2. Game is awesome now. :D

I actually changed to the tilt controls. Made the game much easier to control.

What do you guys do when GameCenter isn't recognizing your achievements? Delete/re-install the game? I'm at a loss.
Shrug and forget about it, and continue to enjoy the game.

The Incident hasn't reported my finished the game achievement, and some other game I have is missing 1 or 2, think it was Bit.Trip.Beat.

Now I know why Xbox lovers dig Xbox Live for leaderboards and achievements. I actually play games more that use Gamecenter simply to beat someone else's score or for multiplayer. I really hope Reckless Racing addes GC support. Support for Lumines would be pretty sweet too, but I have no idea if Q Entertainment even remembers it's on the App Store.

Seriously, most of Q entertainment games they have released on psp, DS and xbox live would work very well on the iphone.

I feel the same way, i absolutely hate angry birds, cut the rope is so much better.

Official 'The 7th Guest' Port Coming to App Store:

Early this morning, Trilobyte Games, developers of the classic CD-ROM game The 7th Guest, started pushing out tiny whispers on their Twitter account that they would be bringing that game to the iOS platforms. Just moments ago, they again confirmed the existence of a The 7th Guest port coming to iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on their Facebook page. Trilobyte was closed down in the late 90s, and is now being resurrected to bring this official port to the App Store.

The 7th Guest was one of the first CD-ROM games when it released back in 1993. Many people consider that it, along with the similarly popular Myst, helped usher forth the CD-ROM gaming era. Bill Gates is even remembered for calling The 7th Guest "the new standard in interactive entertainment". No doubt that if you were a PC gamer during the early 90s, then you have some fond memories of The 7th Guest. No real details are known about the iOS port, other than it should be the game in its entirety with reworked touch screen UI and that it should be available sometime in December.

You may remember from the iDOS phenomenon last week that The 7th Guest was successfully up and running on that emulator, but now it seems that you won't need a banned app or some iOS trickery to enjoy The 7th Guest come December. There is an upcoming games thread in our forums for The 7th Guest that is brimming with excitement over the announcement, and we'll bring you any new information as soon as we get it.

Neat! I did play this back when it came out, I don't see why it couldn't work well with a touch interface.

On the contrary, GC over-reported my achievements for Word Scramble. I have about a dozen more achievements than I should. :lol

Anyhow, Tilt to Live is fantastic. Still getting used to the controls, but it's absolute quality.

iPhone 4 has a display with a much higher resolution then the other iPhones. Apple named it the Retina Display, and when people ask for Retina support it is in reference to if the game has been updated/made to support the crazy high resolution in the iPhone 4, instead of just being made for the older iPhone display resolution.

Thanks, I didn't know what that meant either, I was thinking that little magnifying circle that comes up with text.

ok, i admit it. game dev story is the best thing ever :lol
Seriously. Make sure you play from the beginning again once you get to 20 years. You learn a lot on your first play through and will do much better the second time around. I got to $25,000 max on my first playthrough, and now I'm over $300,000 at 16 years.

It can play it but it can't interact with it directly... manipulation etc. That's why all the DJ programs require you to import songs via wifi or some other unintuitive bullshit. I was under the impression it was supposed to be fixed in 4.0 or 4.1 but I haven't seen anything to take advantage yet.

Asphalt 5 can.
I believe that the problem is that no software can analyze the music files, which would be required for the kind of gameplay in audiosurf. I know this used to be the case before, not sure if it still is.

Jonnyram said:
I think they added the ability to access the music in iOS4? But up until then it was a no-no. It might come sooner or later.

Isn't there a Square-Enix game that uses music to create things in the game? Song Summoner or something? I recall trying the demo a while ago.

You are correct sir, it is Song Summoner. It uses the waveform of your songs to randomly create characters. The demo was decent, but it didn't grab me enough to buy it.

It doesn't actually analyze the music -- apparently it generates a random character based on the title / possibly tag information.

Ok, Deep Deep Dungeon its a simple but fun game! Recommend that you guys give it a try!

I think it's fun at first, then just ok after 3-4 hours. Simple is the best word to describe it. Annoying later on too, as you get to the later levels 40-50, enemies can disregard your armor and just do 3/4s damage, and when you fall under 400 after the third hit, you die instantly, losing half your money, which is really annoying when you're trying to save up 500,000 - 1,000,000. There are also enemies that can do 100%+ damage in a single hit, but that can be avoided at least, by not reducing the enemy to near death. Too bad you couldn't see your enemies before fighting them, so you could have a little strategy and equip the appropriate weapon for the enemies weakness.

Art style isn't great either, and I agree with a review I read of it earlier, that the game seems unfinished, or missing some alternate game play elements.

Yeah, same way how Space Invaders Infinity creates its custom levels. I don't think any app can analyze waveform from the music stored on the device.

Yeah it could use some more "meat", but it fills my purpose, a little fun time spender!

Something like a quest system or stuff like that would really boost it!
