I've recently picked up an iPad and this morning I discovered that I can use my iPhone as a controller and my iPad as the screen in 'The Incident'. That might be the coolest feature I've ever come across, are there any other games that do it?
You just got me to buy it. Quite awesome indeed.

Some games I've been enjoying recently...

Trainyard (duh)
ZenBound (kinda reminds me of PSN's Flower)
Quell
Hoggy
Heasdspin: Storybook
Aqueduct
Sunday Lawn
Dark Nebula 2
Jump O'Clock

Also, Earthworm Jim works surprisingly well on the iPhone and looks great.

Seems decent but I seem to slide my thumb sideways and eventually get squished. When I can keep it steady it's awesome.
Thanks for the response.

I bought it, telling myself that I have to stop being so stupidly hesitant about games that cost one single dollar. Even if it turned out horrible I’d only be out a dollar.

Controls seem fine enough, like you said sometimes my thumb will gradually float off the edge of the D-Pad and it’s unforgiving. Game’s very fun though, I’ve never played Dig Dug or Mr. Driller before. I have to learn how to read the blocks better because what ends up happening is I get myself in trouble then franticly start blasting down to avoid being squished.

DDR S+ got some ridiculous song pack, something like 150 songs for $65 or so...I can't believe I'm somewhat tempted to get it. The original ($5) is a bit more reasonable if you don't have it already, it has something like 26 songs I think.

Those dollars add up fast! With that mentality you end up with a bunch of crap (cause that's what a lot of them are) that you never play and fill up space.

And it sounds like you are having the Mr. Driller experience just fine. Outside of really good players I think that's what everyone does at some point. My only tips would be to take advantage of the ability to move left and right, look for blocks to match up upon falling above you to prevent everything from collapsing, and avoid the brown blocks when possible (...not possible when they're the only places to get air).

can anyone recommend a GREAT Picross/Picross 3D clone for iphone 3gs?
I enjoy Nonograms HD for iPad. There are iPhone versions of Nonograms, but I haven't tried them. The game has large boards and asymmetrical images, so you have to think and can't really guess your way to victory if you get one side of the image.

Is something going on with the App Store today? Reviews aren't showing up for any Apps in iTunes. It works just the same as it always did on iOS but App Store reviews in iTunes aren't showing up. As far as I know it's only the App Store that's affected. Anyone else noticing this?

Fuck I'm loving Geo Wars right now... scoreboards are pretty broken (don't seem to work unless you're on WLAN, can't see other scores on leaderboard) but King is just too fucking addictive! I'm #33 at the moment :D

Any chu chu rocket opinions?

The game itself is great, but I'm having tons of crashing issues on my 3GS.

If I don't close every single application in the multitasking menu it will crash on me either at the title screen or when going into a level. This morning it crashed on me as I finished the last Normal puzzle, meaning the achievement didn't register (not really fussed about that, though)

I'm guessing this is all because of some serious memory management issues. Hope there's a patch soon, because at the moment I'm really regretting the $5 I spent on it.

Man, the Top 200 apps seem to be broken in America. They haven't updated at all in the past 24 hours. Any idea what's up with them?

Restart your iPhone. Should fix it.

Reviews have disappeared from the App Store. I think it's safe to say it is experiencing technical difficulties.

Splinter Cell (Lite): Retina on iPod Touch 4G
Splinter Cell (Full): No Retina on iPod Touch 4G

I'm getting sick and tired of this crap. Thank goodness I picked it up for 99 cents and not a penny more. Morons.

There's this game called Chicken Battle that's currently free (for how long I have no idea, since they don't mention anything; if it wasn't for the fact that there is a Lite version, I would've thought it's a free app).

It's similar to Plants vs. Zombies but with chickens! No retina or GC support, but hey, it's free.

Mine didn't crash per se, although touching the screen sometimes redirected me to my iPod's main menu randomly.

Also, I haven't been able to play online (the reason for me to get it). A message saying something like "Connecting to a server" stays on screen indefinitely, so I have to quit the app in order to leave.

Just as teekun said, the game itself is great. It takes a little time getting used to the 'swiping' controls, but the tutorial and first levels allow for some good training.

Just bought an iPhone 4. Would appreciate recomendations of games with Free versions so I can try. :D

So far I liked Monkey Island, NOVA (quite impressive), Ragdoll Blast 2, Dungeon Hunter (might wait for the sequel though).

I tried Puzzle Quest too and found it intriguing, though it's hard to judge the "RPG" part from the demo. Is it worth it for someone who loves RPG but isn't really into puzzle games like bejeweled?

Also, Chinatown Wars looks sooooo good. Already finished on DS though.

Re: Chu Chu Rocket - one of the developers is on Twitter and promising updates and forthcoming online multiplayer.

ChuChu Rocket! players: A few days ago, we started on an update that includes online multiplayer. RT please?

The 1.0.1 update to CCR has been In Review for a couple of days now so we expect it to be approved very soon. Lots of fixes & enhancements.

To be clear: 1.0.1 is *not* the update with online multiplayer.

I posted a list of 30+ games on the last page somewhere, if you want some good recs. Sword and Poker 2 is more fun than Puzzle Quest, feels more RPG-ish to me. Even better would be to grab a straight-up RPG, like Crimson Gem Saga or a lite-RPG like Chaos Rings, or an old-school one like Shining Force for a buck.

I'm not a tower defense fan at all, but I totally dig Plants vs. Zombies. Well worth it.
Thank you to the Hallowe'en sale and the above poster for convincing me to finally give Plants vs. Zombies (HD, natch) a try. I've always had something of a love-hate relationship with tower defence games: when I do play them I find them outrageously compulsive and engaging, but they can be so drawn-out and frustrating that I never feel the urge to go back to them. Plants vs Zombies, though, I think I'll be going back to for a long time. I'm frankly amazed at just how much fun and charm they've managed to pack into it, and the difficulty is spot-on - not easy enough to feel dumbed-down, but not difficult enough to get frustrating.

Oh, and any impressions on Galaxy on Fire 2? I loved Freelancer and this looks a lot like it.

The game is very good so far, the voice acting is the only downside of the game but the controls, ship battles, gameplay are very well done. I'm almost upset there isnt anything like this on the ps3 and xbox 360.

Another game you should look at is star battalion which is another excellent space shooter. I'm working my way through Galaxy on Fire but i finish star battalion and loved it. One of the last levels of star battalion is like an epic battle in space, amazing how they did that on an iphone, makes me wonder why we haven't seen a TIE fighter game on the iphone when it can be done.

Game Dev Story is like the best game ever!!!! :D

I can't get off the thing. Soooooo addictive.

Any other cool strategy games in a similar vein?

Oh and can you put the games/apps into catergories on itunes?

Thanks for the imput guys. :)

Here's what I bought so far:

Game Dev Story
Reckless Racing
N.O.V.A
Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor
Galaxy on Fire 2

I guess this will last me at least a couple of weeks. :D

I really want Puzzle Quest though. Got addicted by the demo. Too bad it seems the game is super glitchy now on iOS4 and apparently they're not updating it. :(

they've updated the game several times with better performance and controls but maybe they've never updated the demo/lite version?

edit: it still lags for a second when the katamari get's bigger
