Anyone having problems with Chu Chu Rocket? I've got a 3GS and every time I launch it, it crashes when I try to get past the title screen.
It works fine on my 3gs but fails to load on my iPad

OK, iDos is definitely neat.

A lot of games seem to run surprisingly well. In fact, iDos seems REALLY well suited towards graphic adventure games. Most of the games I've tested were 90% perfect or better.

I also tried Crusader - No Remorse just for shits. I knew it wouldn't even be possible to play if it ran, but alas, I could not even install. The installer runs and the awesome music played, but once it tried actually installing files, it just crashed to DOS. Eh, I didn't even expect it to get that far as Crusader is a fickle beast to begin with.

OMFG CHUCHU ROCKET!

...but, er, why is there no retina screen support? Fonts are all screwy looking; some of the line-work is thicker, some of it thinner, making letters look wonky. Plays well; swipe in direction of available arrow pieces at desired location to place. Not drag-and drop. No slow-down that I've experienced. Music is fully intact; though, the repetition of the "squeege" sound when mice enter the rocket doesn't correspond to the number of actual mice saved. Just goes "squeege, squeege, squeege," without respect to the speed or number of mice entering. Minor point that I may be mis-remembering from the original. You can play music from your own collection if you desire.

Title screen brings a smile 'cause it's ChuChu Rocket. Good, not great port so far. Really, no hi-res assets, Sega? Really? Three steps forward, one big step back.

I've installed Windows 3x and a bunch of old games. All have worked, though some are a little slow. It's a lot of fun to mess around with.

On my 4th Gen Touch, it randomly crashes either at the title screen or the loading screen. Still hasn't stopped me finishing the puzzle mode.

Game looks great.

Will be buying it straight away. I love these types of game.

You're in for quite a treat with PvZ. Be sure to watch the music video eventually.

That's pretty cool, I didn't get to sleep until like 2hrs after purchase. Both games are definitely what I was hoping for. Missing Game Center support on both which would make them better being able to check friends scores. Gotta get used to Mr. Driller control scheme, I always seems to have my left thumb drift farther and farther in and I get squished. =c

Could somebody sell me on this game? Is it like FFIV? I never had a Genesis. :|

Great Art! One of the best on the Genesis.

It does play very similar to FF Tactics, like has been said, but transitions into a "battle screen" like FFIV.

It is similar to FFIV in it's traditional 'meat n potatoes' approach to the fantasy too.

Gun Bros was released today, first I heard of it but it's rather good and it looks rather sweet too. It's a twin stick shooter but has a rather nifty online feature where if you have a friend who plays the game also on your game center list you can have their player as an AI bro, you both gain xp so more or less you can level each other up as you go along.

No idea on end game content but it's cool, and free. I like it so far.

Since we all add each other on game centre anyway it will give us a lot of bros to partner up with.

Plants vs Zombies HD is you've never played it.
Chaos Rings is a decent RGP.
Monkey Island SE is still awesome.
Cut The Rope is a quailty puzzler.
Pinball HD is a must-have too when its on sale.

New ipad owner.

Never played anything on an ipod, iphone, or ipad.

Need something to blow my mind. What is awesome ?

Cut the Rope ("HD" version available). Now.

There are lots of great games, but Cut the Rope is one of the few quality games that couldn't really be done on any other device.

Seems decent although i keep getting stuck as the left stick becomes unresponsive.

Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2 just went 99 cents US

That looks pretty great.

For those of you who have played Mr Digger, how responsive are the dpad controls? I ask not from a perspective of "virtual controls suck for games" as I have no issue with that. However not all virtual dpads are created equal and some don't respond very well.

Seems decent but I seem to slide my thumb sideways and eventually get squished. When I can keep it steady it's awesome.

I've recently picked up an iPad and this morning I discovered that I can use my iPhone as a controller and my iPad as the screen in 'The Incident'. That might be the coolest feature I've ever come across, are there any other games that do it?

This seems new to me but the top 200 lists now show if a game has gamecenter or not before you click it, a nice addition.

Also.. reviews have been removed from app pages? is that a bug or something?

I know Chopper 2 has that very same feature, but I don't think there's too many others unfortunatly.

Of note, Chu Chu Rocket on iPad runs at 60 fps. Was concerned it would not, but it definitely does.

It looks pretty different, though, as they actually use sprites instead of polygons. Perhaps not a bad choice, however, as sprites eliminate the aliasing that would have occurred with polygons. It looks pretty nice overall, I must admit. There's a couple oddities such as certain menu objects being presented in a lower resolution than the rest of the interface, but overall, they did a good job.

Nice, that makes 4 so far (The Incident, Chopper 2, Scrabble & Padracer).

It's an awesome idea, I'd like to see it utilized much more. It'd be ideal if it could be supported at all levels by Apple themselves.

I want Game Center, Retina + Universal in a single app and the ability to use an iPhone controller in ALL apps. I'll write to Jobsy & let him know.

Hey iPhone GAF! I just bought an iPhone 4 but for the past couple of years I've been tuning out on game recommendations (bought this on a whim, never thought I'd have one). What would you say are the must-play games on the system? All I can remember is Tilt to Live, Angry Birds and Flight Control. What else am I missing out on?

btw, I'm really not that keen on Tower Defense games.

EDIT: oh, Plants vs Zombies is 59p? I've heard only good things about that, buy.

I'm not a tower defense fan at all, but I totally dig Plants vs. Zombies. Well worth it.

As far as other recommendations, some of my go-to games so far have been (besides the ones you mentioned):

Lumines
Fruit Ninja
Recklass Racing
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011
Monster Dash
Pizza Boy
Flick Kick Football
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
Peggle
NOVA
Street Fighter 4

Cut the Rope is great. Hellsing's Fire is pretty good. Also if you like Pinball games then Pinball HD and the additional Slayer table for it are awesome. Oh yeah I like Spider a lot too.

I still stand that Espgaluda II and Dodonpachi Ressurection are the best Iphone games out there. If you're a fan of shmups, buy buy buy! Thumb controls are surprisingly precise, too.

Thanks guys. I've been hearing about Cut the Rope, I'll try that. And I think I'll get bejeweled as well, that game is crack on pc i can only imagine its supernatural ime-passing abilities on a phone...

Cut the Rope
Reckless Racing
Dead Runner
Canabalt
UFO On Tape

Are great games beside Flight Control. Time Geeks!, Bit.Trip Beat are worth mentioning as well - there's a whole lot of pretty good games out there now.

I made this list a couple of pages ago, check it out too. Also give Kalevala a look instead of Bejeweled, there's significantly more of a game to it imo.

holy crap this thing is dangerous, i've just spent a tenner in a few minutes... the danger of an always-on internet connection lol. Love it!

oh brilliant, thanks. I will study it closely :D

just starting Cut the Rope now, this looks really fun. I have found my new crack, I am happy (my DS will miss my loving touch).
