You can also log into your account on their iPad/iPhone and redownload the games for free on their device without using iTunes.
Then what happens when they log back into their account?

What happens if there's an update?

When they log onto their accounts, the games remain. When there is an update, usually the update has apps owned by both users. Your login may pop up first. The other person hits cancel at password entry, then they log into their account and download their updates. When that completes, they can go back into the app store and hit update all, and even though the iTunes knows they are 'logged in' as the other user, it will download your updates free of charge.

setup a new account with your family members and re-purchase all the items you already bought in order to support the developers. shiets are only .99 cents, thats like half a snicker.

Thanks to the magic of feeds, I learned about and snapped up iDOS during my lunch break, well before it got pulled. I'll be interested to see if it'll continue on Cydia or something. And here's hoping I won't have to repurchase!

I haven't looked into compatibility yet, bit if this thing can handle some of my favorite classic CRPGs, such as the earlier Ultimas, Might & Magics, Betrayal at Krondor, etc... Well, holy fuck.

On that note, what are some of the best emus out there? Cydia's fine too.

Alright Apple, I understand why you can't let something like DosPad exist on your store, I understand how it could easily promote piracy, and that you'd lose a ton of money if you left it up.

But letting it exist for even the hour that you did has forced me to decide to say, "FUCK YOU APPLE IM JAILBREAKING THIS BITCH AND RUNNING DOSBOX ON MY IPOD TOUCH HOLY FUCKING SHIT MASTER OF ORION ON MY IPOD SUCK MAH DICK!!!!!!".

So my friend had been logged in, and I posted that as him on accident.

Anyways, I picked up MOO and MOO2 off of gog.com the other day, and got them working on my iPod after JB'ing.

The game runs pretty great (4th gen iPod), except that it takes about a minute for it to generate the whole star system. Controls are pretty easy to manage as well, and if you spent some time adjusting the mouse speed, I'm sure you get get the mouse to be 1:1. Anyone who found themselves playing the shit out of Civ Rev would most likely find themselves playing the shit out of this old gem as well, and before I got it loaded up through DosPad, I totally would have paid like 10 bucks for a port. Honestly, I'd still pay 10 bucks for a real legit port of the game.

MOO2 on the other hand ran, but barely, and crashed a whole bunch. I think I let it sit for 3 minutes while generating the universe, which to my surprise actually worked. There were all sorts of save problems, and the mouse clicks were super laggy / didn't work, and everything basically had a 10 second delay. I'm kind of bummed on this, since I think it'd be great to play it hotseat and do pass and play.

All in all, I really can't believe how lacking the iOS market is for 4X games (not that the genre is all that modern), and am glad the opportunity exists to be able to self-rectify this.

China... COME ON! just checked the 3rd Apple Reseller. No (New) iPod Touch available. Only the old one. According to the first shop they'll get a shipment on the 31st. Please be true.

Galaxy on Fire 2 by Fishlabs up on itunes NOW!!!

The game is 6.99 for a limited time then in a few weeks will be 9.99 and be universal support with the ipad. People that buy now for 6.99 will have the upgrade to universal support with ipad for free in a few weeks.

Reviews are very positive, impressions from anyone who buys it please

iDOS is nifty, but only seems capable of handling the older DOS games. I supposed that was to be expected.

Only had a change to try a few things.

Keen 4 worked like a charm on my iPad. Smooth performance and good controls.

The Dig wouldn't start at all (crashed iDOS)

Descent installed and worked great in the menu, but once the game started, it ran at like 1 frame every few seconds. Very very slow.

iDOS is not too hot with anything with paralax or basic 3d in it, wolfenstien 3d is playable but runs so chunky it's not worth it. Since I have an older touch I need to grab some of the slower strategy games instead of shooters and commander keen :( In fact I wonder how well red alert dos works.

GoF2 looks great, loved the first one so I will most likely buy this sequel before it's price goes up, waiting to hear more about the game before buying at that price.

Speaking of cut the rope I finally tried it last night with the lite version, quite an awesome game just like angry birds but the demo had a problem of crashing every 2nd cloth level even after a reboot, still i'll grab the full game at some point.

It looks updated graphically? I don't remember the clouds and sun reflecting off the water like that in the original. Maybe they are adding simple effects where they can in this version?

Good catch, it's definitely different. Frame rate looks worse though, original ran at 60fps I think, this look like 15-30fps.

Does no one appreciate 60fps any more? Shame.

Well, we can't judge the framerate from a video, but still, it didn't appear anywhere near as smooth as it should have. I fear it will be a choppy port, which makes no sense as the iPhone could EASILY handle this at 60 fps.

No 60 fps, no buy.

I don't know, it could just be the off screen video, but if you look at how the rabite hops around 1:50 in the iPhone 4 video, and compare it to the rabite hopping at around the 13 second mark towards the right of the screen in the video I linked from the SNES emu, the iPhone one looks easily twice as choppy. Much choppier than how the movement of the guys fingers would lead you to believe it should be.

Will buy Mana too. The sprites don't seem based on the recent mobile "remake", but I can't see very well on this video.

I've been messing around with iDos, and I can't believe that I can play old Sierra VGA games on this thing so smoothly. Two problems so far, the sound is choppy as he'll, and it's not letting me save. Is that a dosbox issue?

Fuck yeah! Secret of Mana is an insta-buy.

Edit:

Pretty damn sure it uses the improved graphics (Yes I think the mobile version looks much better) from the recent mobile port.

Easiest way to tell are the trees, which have way more detail, trees in the original look like green sticks of cotton candy :lol

There are other differences, for example the font on the damage numbers and the portrait art. What's with the choppy animations though? :/

I love the cotton candy-look of the original :( It has such a distinct graphical style, not even the sequel could replicate it.
