It's not bad, but there's a bug that prevents full Retina resolution on the iPod Touch 4G. I'm not getting anywhere with their customer support either since they're denying any problem (despite all the negative reviews stating as much as well as numerous iOS gaming forums..) Oh well, only paid 99 cents...
Oh okay, well I might just stick with my PC version.:lol

Thanks.

Poop. I just bought Sudoku 2 Pro on accident. I've got to figure out how to turn off that 'buy without confirmation' crap. I'm gonna cut a birch if it doesn't support Retina...
Mmm, I mainly purchase applications/games from the iTunes store via PC.

Would be good to purchase them via the iPhone, but knowing Australia, it has an internet quota.:lol

:lol That's precisely why I haven't turned that off. As much as it occasionally annoys me having to put in my password I know it's far too dangerous to turn off. That buy app button is just too inviting.

I'm loving my iPad, and so far i bought Plants vs Zombies hd, Modern Combat 2 hd, Linkoidz, Age of Zombies.

Now i want another good and addicting game. I was thinking about Fruit Ninja since everyone says awesome thinks about it, but from the videos it seems like a game that gets repetitive quickly... does it?

Maybe a game with a good online component (like modern combat 2)... any suggestion? thanks

I do not see Angry Birds anywhere in your list, how can you own an i device and not own that game!

It's actually great! It was one of the earliest games to support Retina :)

So, I'm planning on buying an iPod Touch (4th gen, 32GB) tomorrow. Does anybody have any suggestions for a protective case? There's so many that I'm not sure where to start. I want something that's not too expensive, but does a decent job of protecting the $300 investment I'm going to be making. Also, what about screen protectors? Do you think they're necessary?

Lol you're right. Seems like it's one of the best sudoku games, judging by the ratings. I guess it could have been worse lol. This is definitely better than my accidental solitaire purchase on xbl.

I use a (way too expensive) sena pouch and it does the job ok. I'm in the market for something better as well. I personally don't use screen protectors.

OK, I finally found the last bag in Mirror's Edge! Except... it won't unlock the badge. What's going on?

edit: OK, turns out that in level 0-1, there's a bag you have to get that's not marked anywhere.

So does the iPod Touch's screen hold up well without a screen protector? I'm kind of hesitant to buy one, because my experience with screen protectors on other devices have never been very good. Either they lower the touch screen sensitivity, look like crap, never go on right, or kind of blur the screen. But I guess if there was a good quality one...

I personally think they should've made Angry Birds Halloween edition as DLC for the original Angry Birds, seeing as there aren't any new birds...

Maybe it has some kind of relation with Chillingo (the producers but not the developers of Angry Birds) being bought by EA. Angry Birds Halloween has a different company name, probably the real devs.

---

I'm changing my original iPhone for an iPhone 4. But I'll give my iPhone to my fiancee. There is no problem in using the same account and having then the same apps (well, different apps, but from the same account), is it?

Probably, but as said, it would've been good if they added new birds, instead of new levels.

Any recommended/best bullet-hell games that looks good on the iPad? I tried Espgaluda II lite - seems good, but those Cave games are pricey!
Dodonpachi Resurrection! :p

Figured I might as well mention their other one, and I do think it plays a bit better on iPhone/iPad cause it's less complex to handle button wise (well they're both pretty complex once you want to score well I guess). Ultimately if you like that style of bullet hell either one of those games is the best on the platform, they're worth the money.

All that said if you want something cheap rRootage is free, Noiz2sa too. Space Invaders Infinity Gene ($5) got a nice recent update that made it universal, not really bullet hellish but still pretty cool. And there's loads of indie ones for a buck or two...price may be indicative of quality in some cases though, so look for demos or videos/reviews when possible.

Yup. Assuming it's the same screen as the iPhones - which I would imagine it is - I'm on my third iPhone now, keep it in a pocket with coins - not my keys, but loose shrapnel coins - and haven't had any scratches on any of the screens. Some people will have had scratches, though - I can only speak for myself. But I do know that the screen protectors I've seen do many of the things you've listed...

I use the Griffin Reveal. I've been very happy with it as doesn't add bulk but still gets the job done. Plus it comes with a sweet stand.

Hm, that one does look pretty nice. I wish these cases weren't so expensive, but hey...anybody else like the Griffin Reveal?

Turrets are horrible, never use them.
I keep one for when I'm just passing through a system and don't want to fight any pirates in the area. Just set the autopilot for the jumpgate or station and man the turret to fend off anything that comes after you.

I want to transfer my Crimson Gem Saga save from my iPhone to my iPad. But sadly, there seems to be no way to do it...

Apple should provide a way to backup saves outside of full device backup :/

I think it holds up quite well without one but YMMV.

Just to elaborate on what I said earlier, I'm not a case type of person. Usually they either add a ton of bulk or take away from the aesthetics of the device. The Griffin Reveal hits at both of issues. The fact that the back of the case is clear is nice (helps if you have it engraved or just like the back of the iPod). Plus, it's just really thin but gives the device great protection. I dropped mine face down in my house by accident...the device was totally protected without a scratch.

The only downside is the price, but that seems to be the case with most of these cases. It comes with a neat stand that you can use for video watching or just to keep the device on in general around the house or in the office.

As for screen protectors, I haven't needed one for mine. I keep it in my pocket, and I don't have any markings on it. Whatever Apple uses for the screen, I like it.

Thanks man, that sounds like what I'm looking for. They're in stock at BestBuy, so I'll probably go take a look!

I wish I could email whoever lead the development of Lumines and tell them Gamecenter support would make it totally awesome.

How difficult is it to add Gamecenter to games? I'm curious from anyone from the development community.

This is actually a great idea. I'm gonna try to find on and try it on a few games with virtual dpad :D
I mentioned this to someone on SomethingAwful that imports and sells iPhone stuff (cases, protectors, etc) and he got in contact with the manufacturer, sounds like he'll know more about them on Monday.

FruitNinja is annoying me, I still can't access OpenFient after accidently clicking No to it when I installed the game... New mode is awesome though but sucks I can't enable OpenFient.

As for the screen protectors, nice idea but it'll get in the way when you're playing ANY other game or trying to type. So you'll have to take it off each time, what if you want to play another game with a slightly different on screen input method...

Bought this instead of the new'er one (espagaludalkdjflskdruih II). Quite fun actually. I'll check out the others Thanks.

Your avatar reminds me of Mass Effect 2's Miranda, but with blonde hair.

Holy shit, I guess someone doesn't know Miranda was, in addition to being voiced by her, also modeled to look like Yvonne Strakakalsksjndjsj. Crazy, huh?
I knew Shepard was modeled after a real guy but I didn't know about Miranda and this woman.

Holy shit, you can get Lumines on iP... oh it is shit. Shame!

It's fine. I guess it came out kind of buggy and hard to control but they patched that pretty quickly. I've gold-starred everything in it. Yes, it's harder to control than the PSP version and noticeably different. I just view this as a different challenge, and the control scheme as it is now is really manageable. It has a few new levels too.

You'd think that Q entertainment would be putting more of their games on the iphone, they are sitting on a virtual gold mine.

on a side note, finished galaxy on fire, such an awesome game.

yeah really and it seems they bailed on lumines after patching it. no more dlc or updates. then again same for popcap x100 (though popcap does put out more games than Q, though not nearly as much as they should)

Has anyone tried Reckless Racing? If so is it any good?
I like it. It's pretty on the iPhone 4 retina display but the framerate is in the low 20s so that may really bug you, depending on how you susceptible are to that. I didn't feel like it made the controls worse. It's supposed to be a bit sloppy, I think.

I need a damn Meteos port...well it might be kinda hard on the iPhone (small blocks, fat fingers) but it'd work on iPad. Big multitouch Meteos would be pretty crazy.

Yea Q entertainment very much bailed on Lumines on the iphone which could have been as popular as angry birds in my humble opinion. I am going to assume Q will wait for some company to drop a pile of money for their games on a mobile platform and Apple certainly won't do that. With Q not supporting Lumines on iphone i do not see any reason to buy it at all.

Apple should especially with Gamecenter it would be a really impact the dev community to support gamecenter. OpenFeint on Galaxy on Fire 2 has this feature, I can upload my game save and re-download it on my ipad and pick up where i left off. Not sure if other games have this awesome feature.
