Ok how the hell am I supposed to get 10 perfect slides on the first island in Tiny Wings? You simply build up too much momentum if you do that much, even if you do one perfect slide and then try to mess up your second.

I managed to do it by sort've negating that momentum, if you make him dive just as it crests the hill you can do it. It takes some doing but once you do it once you get into a nice rhythm and the rest are pretty easy.

Edit: Donald Mustard just tweeted that the Infinity Blade update is coming today.

Quick initial impressions of Minotron: 2112 after 30 mins. Overall I'm enjoying it a lot. The controls are weird again but I think they'll work wehn I get the hang of them properly. I am enjoying how Minter is coming up with some non-standard controls for his games, both of them are interesting experiments in touch controls that set them apart from the other iOS games similar to them.

The game is joyfully bizarre, with crazy unique enemies on each stage that I've played so far (only up to 15 out of 100). Utterly mental sound effects too, getting some strange looks from the missus.

The game is hard though, real fucking hard! Still, I'm sticking with it for a while anyway. Need a break from all the Tiny Wings I've played lately too :D

That's probably one of the easiest ones imo, just don't push down, instead lightly tap and go really slow. Then you should easily be able to take every second slope with a great slide.

Also, gonna get that Minotron shit downloaded! Mino Rescue was amazing.

If I plan on playing a lot of games, transferring a few gigs of music and a few gigs of movies should I go 64 GB or will the 32 be enough?

go for 64GB. I went with 32GB and am already running out of space with music/movies/apps.

I really did not think I would need anything more than a 32GB but I was wrong. Definitely will upgrade to a larger size for iPod touch 5.

Thanks kind of what I was thinking. Anyone have any clue if you will not be allowed to place pre orders at apples store for the Ipad 2? Currently its listed in their store but you can not order....was hoping I would be able to prebuy one even if it did not ship for awhile. One last question too, do they generally charge tax?

Pumped for the iPad 2 announcement and fully taking advantage of the apple premium as I always do and selling my current iPad for a mere $110 discount. Seems like we're talking some serious horse power for gaming.

Yes but I imagine devs will make games for the lower powered ipad as the standard, not taking advantage of the increased horsepower of ipad2. I'm going to wait a while before going with the ipad 2... maybe until ipad 3.

Supposedly Chair says it's live, but I don't see the update just yet. Awesome amount of content though.

Quoting for new page. I also made a thread, not sure if it warrants it but felt like doing it all the same.

Minotaur didn't have weird controls!

I'm liking Minotron, not as much as Minotaur yet but I'm still getting the hang off it. Protip: swipe the direction you want to shoot, don't hold it.

Yeah INfinity Blade update today! Double yeahhhhh for dodge button size slider because that shit might as well have been random, impossible to hit little things.

Boo to the sale. I didn't know they were sale whores like Gameloft or EA, I guess I should have waited. Developers take a step towards convincing app store customers to accept high prices and then 1,000,000 steps back with these sales. How can I value your game at 7 bucks when its 2+new content for people that haven't been supporting you?

Sigh. I know it's old news, but sigh.

showed for me but then disappeared

Apple really needs to improve the update system for apps in iTunes

edit: back and it's downloading now :-)

I would not consider them being a sales whore at all. This is their first sale since the game came out and it's probably to celebrate the new content. This game is worth so much more than the original asking price anyways. With this quality of game, these guys deserve to be supported

Think about how much longer you've been enjoying the game for, though.

40 minutes amirite :/

My iPhone is 16 Gb. I have 92 games on it, about 1000 songs and a couple of short videos, and I am barely hitting 12 Gb.

What's Apple Premium?
I've got a 64GB 3G iPad and I want to upgrade to iPad 2, is there something I can do or I'm on my own/eBay?
How much should I aim to make with it?
It's coming to EU/Italy in March 25 (same day as the 3DS!), so at least I've got a bit more room to find a good deal than what NA owners have.

"Apple Premium" is reffering to the fact that Apple products tend to hold their value a bit better then other products. Apple charges a very high up front price, but new tech in general has not decimated the price of old product. I am thinking the IPad is going to be a bit different though since if you look at Amazon or other resell sites you can see quite a few going for $150-$200 below new price. Ebay and Amazon both take a huge cut too.

My recommendation is to check out gametz.com which is a site where you can buy, sell and trade to other gamers. I have been using it for years and never had a problem and they do not take a cut of your sales. Basically lets say you sell something on ebay for $500 then at gametz you would probally charge something like $450 for it, the buyer gets a better deal then ebay price and you still come out ahead since you are not slammed with ebay and paypal fees.

Amazed how good NBA Jam is. $4.99 sure as hell beats shelling out $50 for the ps3 version.

Yeah, I usually hate virtual buttons, but the run "button" is tucked right down in the corner, so I can feel the edge of my iphone case when my finger is on it and use it as tactile reference, then either move up or left for the different actions.

Anyone play Minotron 2112? It sucks that Minter's games don't run on older iPods.
It's glorious! But it's pretty much straight-up Llamatron 2112 with some modern flair so that's to be expected.

I think he's planning on getting the Minotaur Project stuff out on PC at some point.

I will take hits because of IB's crappily small dodge buttons no longer!

He3S6.jpg

Will give some impressions in a bit.

edit: Don't want to spoil anything because experiencing it for the first time is very cool. So I really don't want to say anything except that this update is amazingly bad ass so far and the new dungeon is a little freaky.

I will say...
Holy fuck, Wood Jester...he creeped me out when he appeared behind me, I was nervous that they wouldn't give me a chance to heal and throw me into battle with him. Which would be cool. Anyway, he really fights different from all the other enemies in IB, he's extremely agile and defensive. It was a blast and honor to take him out.

Damn Hot Springs Story; too addicting. Not sure how to fully upgrade things though. My baths are at 1 heart for spa/jacuzzi. I'm not sure if you can stack things per se to get two and three hearts for the bath upgrades. For example jacuzzi needs two natural stones and one vending machine, not sure if doubling each respective item gives me another heart. I don't know how to fast track things like investments for actual stores. I'm at year 9 and so far I only have the cafe, shop, massage and lantern one.

I thought maybe getting 100 popularity with targets help but I don't think that's the case.

edit - ok, six stones and three vending machhines does give you three hearts in jacuzzi.

Oh, ok, lol at Apple Premium... The capitalization fooled me.
Thanks for clearing that out and I'll check gametz out, although I fear it's a NA only thing?
Either way, cool to know :)
I think my best bet is to have an auction up by tomorrow/the day after that, but I still have no idea on how to price my 64Gb 3G, I mean the machine has less than three freaking' months and still 2 years of warranty left.

Gametz can be used anywhere, its just a matter of finding someone willing to ship out of NA. Some people are willing to, some are not. I just did some deals for some old games and shipped to Russia, France and Germany in the process.

As for how to price, again I say go to Amazon and ebay and try and get a general idea of how much people are charging then undercut it by a few bucks.

Will most likely buy Minotron later today. Never played Llamatron before but I'm a big fan of Jeff Minter games and Robotron is pretty much my favorite game ever.

Hell Yes!
After playing Tiny Wings for something like 8 hours total over 4 days, I finally beat 175,000 and graduated to 28x multiplier!
I've seriously enjoyed Tiny Wings more than some console games I've played this year.
Now, on to Battleheart & Infinity Blade.

How many of you are upgrading to the Ipad 2? I currently do not own an Ipad and I am kind of on the fence about what I am going to do. I mean the Ipad 2 with its faster processor and GPU was what I was def planning on, but seeing the market for the Ipad 1 drop out it is getting more and more tempting to pick up an Ipad 1. I mean as it is a new Ipad 2 64 GB will run me $700 without taxes or any extras, meanwhile I have seen the Ipad 1 64 GB often with extras for around $400. It is getting to the point where I am wondering if the $300 is really worth it for the Ipad 2 over 1.

Anyone think the Ipad 2 will receive many games that run on it but never the Ipad 1?

Very very few. Maybe some with an iPad 2 mode.

Kind of what I am thinking which is why it is getting harder and harder to not just get an Ipad 1. I mean there is already a $300 savings.....another $50 and it means I will pay twice as much for the Ipad 2.

It's the term for selling apple products when a decent update comes along. Unlike most other brands people pay like 75% or more of the brand new value for used apple products which pretty much finances my bad habit of buying them when upgrades roll out.

It really does not seem to be the case this time though. As I said a min again it seems like the going rate is almost half what it was before.

Craigslist folks are ignorant :) provided you do the smart thing and meet them in a public place like Starbucks.

Yeah I checked craiglists and there are people expecting like $50 over the price of a new one now! I have sold stuff on craigslist countless times for more then the going rate, but hey tricks like that can not be counted on and word gets around fast. And yep you have to go to a busy as shit place, we have had like 4 people locally get stabbed over craigslist meetings.

God, this is going to make me sound like one of those My Little Pony-Age weirdos but has anyone tried Shadow Ranch? I guess it's an interactive Nancy Drew book but I saw something about it being like the old Choose Your Adventure books and I've been dying for stuff like that to find new life on iOS.

Have you tried Gamebook Adventures 1-5? I believe those are the cream-of-the-crop for interactive RPG adventure books.

They're universal apps with custom UIs for the iPad vs the iPod/Phone too.

Book 5 actually just came out today I noticed, wow. Temporarily on sale.
