I don't know how well it will work on 3G. Even on wifi if the person I am talking to has a slow connection it starts to chug and lag.

I have never really taxed the At&t network like that before so I am just guessing it won't hold up but we should find out one way or the other soon enough.

I actually just downloaded the Speed Test app this morning and was very surprised at how good the speeds are. The upload rate through 3G is more than double my DSL. I have a 768kbps upload on DSL, which translates to about 65 to 70k/s, but through 3G on the iPhone 4, I was getting as high as 158k/s. So if it works fine through my current WiFi, I can only imagine it'll be at least fine if not better on 3G for me.

I had something weird happen to me. My phone was working absolutely perfect, no death grip or anything, and then on the first day I get the NO SIM CARD INSTALLED message. I take my sim card out a bunch of times and go into airplane mode, and even reset all my network settings. It magically got fixed somehow, and ever since then I've been able to do the death grip...

... maybe it is SIM Card issue as some people were theorizing. :/

No, it works on 3G. I used to use Wunderradio, but Tunein Radio seems to be alot more reliable. Plus it is alot more slick as well.

I currently use Wunderradio. What problems were you having? I have to admit their interface is pretty horrid, but I just wonder if Tunein radio is worth dumping my $7 investment in Wunder.

My sister has a similar DSL connection and their Facetime connection is pretty crappy.

Let us know how it works when you try it on 3G (I really wonder if the connection can hold that speed for an extended period of time, but as I said before we will find out soon enough).

The interfaces are both very basic. I prefer Radioshift to both of them. With multitasking available you won't spend much time in the app anyway (they can remove those web browser/open in safari features now—I never used them anyway). They have the largely the same selection. The remaining differentiator is Tunein can record streams while Wunderradio can't.

Oh wait, you know what, I just realized why my experience was good. When we tested it, we were both on the same network :D Oops, so ya, I guess I haven't really tested out FaceTime because like I said before, requiring WiFi makes it pretty impractical to use on a normal basis. I guess we'll see when the Jailbreak hits.

Is the infrared sensor issue a widespread thing or do only certain iPhone 4s have it? It's really starting to irritate me. It seems as if I'm on the phone for longer than five minutes, it's going to happen.

I'm thinking all phones have it, but the conditions that set it off are unknown which is why not everyone experiences it.

happened to me again on a call, but it only pressed the # key and not the end call button.

sensor recalibration am required.

Hey, I had this issue a few days ago! How do you get the damn sim card to pop out?

I got my Stealth Armor package today, the clear one. I don't know why this is, but I didn't expect them to be like stickers, but rather slightly thick pieces of plastic with an adhesive on one side. These are essentially glorified screen protectors. The one on the back looks all right, and hides that barely-there scratch on the back, so it's staying. The front, not so much. Following the instructions, I soiled the hell out of the adhesive and no matter how much I squeegeed the bubbles out, it looked awful and threw it out.

They also included those aluminum-colored bands that actually don't look too bad on the metal band.

Still, in all of this, I feel like I just dressed up my loyal puppy in a costume and I can't stand when people do that. :/ It's a keeper regardless.

It's getting to the point where I'm contemplating taking it to the Apple Store. :-/

I wonder if that's a physical problem too. They have a different sensor this time that's in a different position as well. Still, it seems like a position that would always be covered by your ear, so probably just some recalibration needed.

I've never had it, and I've made quite a few phone calls. I've even checked some by quickly pulling the phone away from my face and putting it back again. Just as smooth as my old 3G.

The antenna problem I get, because this is a new design. But why would there be issues with the proximity sensor when presumably it's the same one they've been using for the past 3 years?

Hmm, that's true. Now that Wunder supports background audio I hardly ever see the app. Not sure if I need the ability to record streams either.

I just downloaded an update for Fring that includes two-way video chat over 3G. Haven't tried it yet.
Two way ?

Reading the app description and seeing the reviews posted today.. it appears to only be 1 way.

So someone mentioned an incoming "game" called Epic Win over in the gaming forum and not everyone checks both threads so I figured it was worth mentioning here since it is oozing with awesomeness. Apparently it is made by the creators of Little Big Planet, I'v been searching for a to-do list and this seems right up my alley :lol

Day 1

Finally found an iPhone 4 case yesterday. The Griffin Reveal.

Basically it's like the Apple bumper, but has a clear backside to protect the back of the phone from scratches/bumps. It's pretty thin material and keeps the form factor nicely.

You know what I noticed is missing from the iPhone 4? The interference with cordless phones and speakers. Woohoo!
The phone on my desk says hi. I get it when I'm at work and the signal switches to EDGE, because the reception here is so spotty.

Yep, the only screens I see in the app after the initial setup are My Favorites and Now Playing. If Apple gave the audio streaming API more features of the iPod App (lockscreen now playing art, Song/file name in the multitasking controls drawer) I'd open the apps even less.

I don't see the Reveal for the iPhone 4 on their site... I see Reveal Etch, but not the stock Reveal... am I missing it? Sounds like something I'd like to pick up.

Isn't that the case that covers up the LED flash?

The Griffin Reveal is a POS b/c it interferes with the flash. I think they designed it based on the Gizmodo leak. The light of the flash bounces around in the plastic and makes the photos looked washed out.

EDIT: Also, Fring's UI is hideous. I hope something with a better functionality comes around soon

Non-retina icon? Come on.
Seriously. Some of my older apps are releasing iOS4 updates, which is great, but they aren't updating their icons. Stop slacking devs. I want my homescreens to be blur-free in the near future.

You aren't alone.

I think it's one of those situations where it just depends on the individual case. I have the case, and my flash works fine, but I could see that if the back plastic was warped in any way, that could affect it.

I'm ha ing the worst time finding a case that still keeps the phone slim ( and is clear so you can see the phone) and also doesn't limit the headphone jack options. Sheesh this sucks

I've got my fingers crossed that one of the Agent 18 cases will suit my needs. They made a great one for my 3G and my wife's iPod 3g. I'm looking at this:
