Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games Combine an Action-Adventure Journey and LEGO Building for a One-of-a-Kind Experience with The LEGO® Movie Videogame

Enter the Most Fantastical World of LEGO Building Where Gamers Can Turn the Ordinary Into the Extraordinary With an All-New and Unique Digital Master Building Ability

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The fate of the LEGO® world lies in your hands! Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games today announced that The LEGO Movie Videogame will be available in 2014 alongside the much-anticipated “The LEGO Movie,” from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, and a toy collection of “The LEGO Movie” building sets.

“Players will be taking on the ultimate mission to save the LEGO world and use their virtual building prowess to build unimaginable sets and creations.”
The LEGO® Movie Videogame will be released for Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 4® and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, the Wii U™ system and Windows® PC, as well as Nintendo 3DS™ handheld system and PlayStation® Vita handheld entertainment system.

In a scenario drawn from the film, The LEGO Movie Videogame puts LEGO kids into the role of Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Players guide him as he is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

“We’re thrilled to be able to give kids the joy of reliving Emmet’s adventures in becoming virtual Master Builders with The LEGO® Movie Videogame,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “Players will be taking on the ultimate mission to save the LEGO world and use their virtual building prowess to build unimaginable sets and creations.”

In The LEGO® Movie Videogame players will be able to collect and use LEGO instruction pages to build construction sets or harness the awesome power of the Master Builders to virtually build extraordinary LEGO creations along the way. With more than 90 characters inspired by the film and 15 exciting levels, kids can build and adventure like never before.

No, you meant Videogame based off a movie based off Traveler's Tales LEGO video games, based of original toys crossing over with other original media franchises that were based on movies.

this is a thing? Will press releases from publishers have to include this dirge every time they mention Xbox one? Wow.

Why is it a thing to call the X1 the "all-in-one entertainment and games system" on every press-release?

Is that its actual official name?

Anyways, do we know how TT's developers shake out? Any way to know if the Lego City Undercover people are the ones working on this?

I wonder what style they're going to animate the characters in. In TT's existing Lego games, they use a lot of squash and stretch to animate the characters, but based on the movie trailer, it looks like the animators there decided to emphasize the rigid nature of a Lego toy's movement and tried to replicate the look of a stop motion movie.

It's weird for Microsoft they write practically a novel that it's coming to the console "Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft" and for Nintendo they say "the Wii U".

Edit: I see it's been mentioned already. lol
