So Messhuggah is coming with a live 2 CD/Blu-ray set called Ophidian Trek later this month. Time for some HD Messhuggah bitches!
Hell yes! Seminal album, and I've just got around to listening to it.
Fucking Manowar.
Seriously we're the most loyal yet most fucked over fans.
Fucking Manowar.
My favorite is Canterbury, but people think they wussed out on that album. Sean Harris is easily one of the most underrated singers in metal.
What happened now?
Question time metalGAF: what is your favorite "boss song" (I'm sure there's a better term but I've always used this terminology)?
If you're confused as to what I am talking about, I'm referring to the typical song on the album that is usually more than two minutes longer than any other piece on the track, usually found near the end of, if not at the end of, the album. Often the title track of the album, often not.
Personally I'm torn between Iron Maiden's "When the Wild Wind Blows" and Sonata Arctica's Deathaura.
I'm surprised I like In Flames' new album as much as I do. Sounds of a Playground Fading only had a handful of songs I liked (though I really, really liked those songs). I expected this album to be throwaway after the forgettable singles but the rest of the tracks are a really damn good effort for the direction they've been on for a while now.

Wow it feels almost impossible to choose, there are is too much good stuff.
I think I will have to go with Kings of the Nordic Twilight by Luca Turilli. It kind of perfectly encapsulates everything I love about power metal without any sense of irony.
New Exodus song

New single by Amaranthe is out on Spotify.
Drop Dead Cynical.
JESS AND THE ANCIENT ONES IS SUPPORTING KING DIAMOND ON HIS U.S. TOUR FUUUUUUUUUUUCKING GODDAMMIT I'VE NEVER BOUGHT A SCALPED TICKET BEFORE HOW DO I DO THIS? Do I hang out outside of the venue on the day of the show? Go to Craigslist?
Agh! AGH I HAVE TO GO!
Why the hell do so many people in Chicago know who King Diamond is to the point where his concert sold out in mere days?
This is bullshit
Personally, I'm torn over which version of Kings is better: its edit or the full length.
With Prophet it's no contest that the original is better, but the edit does have a different "feel" to it.
Man, I can't choose between Si monvmentvm, Fas, or Paracletus as the best Deathspell Omega album. I dunno, what do you people think?
Si Monumentum is my favorite by a good mile. I'd go as far to say it's one of the pillars of black metal. It's atmospheric, ferocious, and evil as all fuck.
Pretty much that, yeah. Paracletus is a damn fine album but let's face it, there is something really sinister inside SMRC. When it originally came out in 2004, I remember being intimidated by its overwhelming atmosphere and all in all sinister riffage.
In my opinion, the "new" (from SMRC onwards) DsO hasn't really made a weak album yet. SMRC just puts the bar damn high right off the bat. If I had to rank the albums from best to "worst", I'd go with something like this: SMRC ≥ Kenose > Paracletus ≥ Drought ≥ Diabolis Absconditus / Mass Grave Aesthetics > Fas.
