The PlayStation Vita In 2011-2012

I'm interested in a lot of games on the list, but fore the majority I'm interested in, I'm a little hesitant and would need to see more on them first.

Day 1/Full Price
Uncharted: Golden Abyss - If it has multiplayer.
Wipeout 2048
Ys 4 – Celceta, Sea Of Trees
Lumines
Zone of the Enders HD Collection
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Final Fantasy X HD

Wait/Used
Persona 4: The Golden
Super Stardust Delta
Resistance: Burning Skies - If the multiplayer looks good.

Need to try it first/more info
Ruin
Street Fighter X Tekken
Tales Of Innocence R
Escape Plan
Malicious
Sumioni

I'll be there at launch (in Europe) - that says a lot because with almost all the other handhelds, except for the original Gameboy, I've always waited till there were one or two titles that interested me past the launch games, or I've waited for a more pleasing color to be released.

If they're using the back touch, it makes more sense to stick with the R1/2/3 concept, otherwise you'd need a quick way to indicate areas of the touch pad.

Lacks killer apps, system sellers, original new games. Full of ports... Vita needs games like PSP had, giant names, Crisis Core, GTA games, Portable Ops... Nintendo 3DS have a nuber of killeapps/system sellers already (RE: R, Kid Icarus, KH3D, MH4), and somebody must announce some big exclusive title to Vita as soon as possible.

Only games I'm excited are the Sony's own games, the brand new games, thrid party ones are rather disappointing. Uncharted is the only big system seller, followed by LBP Vita. Persona 4 and Disgaea 3 are fine too, but they're just ports with additional content of 3 year old games. PSP had couple of them and they didn't help the system. I don't think they will rock the sales charts. Mostly the people who had the original games could buy them. Also I can forsee that PS3 version of Dragon's Crown do better than Vita version. Same goes with HD collection games.

PSP had Monster Hunter, Super Robot Wars, GTA and God of War to have its sales reach to 70 million. Vita needs more than those if they want th system to exceed its precessor. Nathan Drake isn't powerful as Kratos to make the system shine.

Why? I'm probably going to buy FFX HD on the Vita purely because it can't compete with the other games coming out on the PS3 for my time, and so I won't have the time to play it if I bought it on the PS3. On the Vita, you can play in short bursts and you aren't confined to a couch and a TV. Perfect way to play a majority of these HD collection games IMO.

Will there be any new content or changes for Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the Vita? Any info on this?
Nope. Nada. If they add back in the classic NG games as easter eggs, then the possibility of me picking it up, goes up.

I think you missed things like:

-Brand new Assasin's Creed (not a port)
-Brand new Bioshock
-Call of Duty (we don't know if it will be a port or a new game)
-Rockstar confirmed to be working in Vita games though twitter
-A Super Robot Wars for Vita was confirmed as I remember
-10+ new IPs in the OP and more not listed there
-MH3G and MH4 not mentioned as exclusive

Well, I'll go for Uncharted, Rayman and Gravity Daze. The rest doesn't interest me that much. I'll wait for a lower price, sale or nice bundle.

I love the hardware but I'm just not feeling the games. It looks like an endless list of PS360 ports, remakes and cinematic games that I'd much rather play on the big screen. The thing that could make me change my oppinion is multiplayer over 3G, so I can kill the 45 minutes it takes me to go to school. Call of Duty Vita with MW3 integration over 3G would be godly.

Forgot to mention Shin Megami Tensei Vita.

Any information on this?

I hope Vita gets a Wizardry, Siren and Demon's Souls/Dark Souls game. DS would be a perfect fit, and the newer version of its engine is already made for Vita so it shouldn't be too unrealistic.

You must have read a different OP.

new difficulty level and new skins so far
Well that is something I guess. Hopefully they add something else cool. Maybe some new/different missions for mission mode or something at least.

Gravity Daze, Sound-shapes, Army Corps Of Hell, Escape Plan, Sumioni... all new.

GTA games were essentially re-purposed ports of their console brethren. Same with Portable Ops, which released 2-3 years into the PSP's life and Crisis Core launched 3-4 years into the systems life.

None of these have even come out yet, and the system is well beyond its launch period and approaching (if not beyond) it's first year on the market when all of them do. Perhaps extend a console not even released yet the same courtesy for it's "system sellers".

I've seen this opinion regurgitated wholesale all over, so I guess this was the one that pushed me to itemize this shit!

I assume so since the PSP was....

Technically only the PSP Go as its the only one that had Bluetooth.

Though the rest supported a DS while playing the Resistance game when linked to a PS3 or something.

I'm really impressed with the lineup that's been announced so far. It looks like Vita is going to follow in the footsteps of PSP, only with hardware that is even more capable of reproducing the console experience.

Sign me up for a day one purchase.

So you complain about the Vita lacking original games (somehow overlooking Gravity Daze and Sound Shapes), but while praising the 3DS lineup you can only name sequels. Not to mention complaining about Vita ports but mentioning a single one of the many 3DS ones.

With those double standards, I'm surprising you didn't throw in the tired "console games" argument as well.

People seem really backwards to me. I just don't see how having the depth of a console game on a handheld is a bad thing. It's like because it's a handheld they want to wallow in poor value, simplistic software "just cuz", when the platform can easily accommodate much better games. With the advent of multi-tasking, save states, and the almighty sleep function, the '15 minutes of time to kill' argument no longer holds any ground either.

Do we know anything about these games outside of the logo and the franchise?
I don't need to know more =P Bioshock is my favorite franchise this gen I'll eat up anything related to it and Assassins Creed will probably be like the console versions since there's dual analog now same with COD.

It's also undeniable that some projects (mostly from Japan) are on portables for the only reason that it's cheaper to develop for them, it's not a bad idea to have a homeconsole-like platform, gimmicks are still there for whoever wants to exploit them in his games.

Maybe if buy it on PSN you don't have to buy the twice
lol

So if I'm importing a vita but can't read japanese is Hot Shots Golf a good game to get? Seems like it would be pretty playable.
