The search for BIOSHOCK, help gaffers out

I'm heading out now to my TRU, which opens in fifteen minutes. I wonder how many "I got it!" posts there'll be by the time I get back (running by the office and getting breakfast). I'm gonna be pissed if my store doesn't have it.

You've missed nothing.

No official word from 2K about an early release, and their silence so far is basically a sign that it's not going to happen.

If you manage to find it at the Crossroads Toys 'R Us, tell me - I want the game - but it's more a matter of getting lucky with a store breaking a release date than an early release.
 
Hope it's not too late for TRU, it's possible they might have realized the slip and sent out a note to pull it.

Yeah, I'll be heading toward my local store during lunch as well but I was hoping that TekunoRobby could give me some ammo to get it out of their hands. I'll let you know if I have any luck at my end.

Ok there is a 30 second ad that only has Available Now and download the demo lines without the date. There is a lousy webcam video of it up on youtube but you can see it.
 
I guess that from the small percentage of people who tracked Bioshock, there will be a tiny number of peeps with a foreign 360. My question to those peeps is: Is Bioshock multiregion?

Mind you, if you own Bioshock, I doubt you'd be in this thread anyway :(

I got about 40 minutes of more wait and then I'm heading to TRU, would it be better to call or go there? TRU is close to my house and so is GS

As far as we know the leaks have exclusively been the standard edition.
 
Gamestop is the only retailer with the CE. Until they start selling anything, the only early copies will be standard editions.
 
I actually want to get the CE after playing the demo. Unfortunately all places I've seen with it in Australia want a cool $110 for it at minimum. That's standard fare in Australia, but I HOPE a place like JB Hi Fi gets its hands on some copies and make 'em cheap.
 
UPDATE FOR TRIANGLE AREA NORTH CAROLINA GAFFERS!
I just got off the phone with the Cary TRU. I was told that Bioshock missed its delivery date yesterday, and that they will be selling it as soon as they get it in. You guys may want to take this with a grain of salt, because the guy might just be blowing smoke out of his ass, but I will keep you posted.


He told me to call back around noon to see if they came in today.

Well, I just called 2 toysrus's in the virginia beach area... and boy did I get response.


I was told at both locations that they no longer sell Mature titles in store? Is that bullshit or is that something toysrus are starting to do?

I'm still going to go by that TRU later today to get Lost Planet and Prey for cheap, so I'll let you know if I see anything.


I'm a little torn though. I want to get the LE, because it has all the cool shit but I don't want to wait until next Tuesday.
 
OMG YES. My TRU had 3 copies when they opened, and I think he said one of those was being held.

Guy said that since there was no sticker they were authorized to sell 'em.

Well considering a few hundred people have bought the game at Toys 'R Us the past two days, I'd say it's bullshit.

Yup. I'm guessing this is what the representative in WR meant yesterday when she said they probably weren't stocking it.

I just tried to find the Macon TRU only to realize they went out of business. >.< No more stores in my range on the TRU front; time to start hitting up the Gamestops and EBs.

Has any other Georgian had any luck? (Siamese, Guito, Gazerk, etc.)
 
Any Targets selling them yet? I've bought more than one game early with a DO NOT SELL UNTIL XX/XX/XX sticker there in the past. (Midtown Madness 3 and something else.) My Target looked for me yesterday, but said they hadn't gotten any in yet.
