I'm sure it's decent and has a couple of good Jim Carrey gags.
This post just reminded me that Detective Pikachu existed.
Can anyone else chime in on whether it's actually good? The fact that word-of-mouth dropped like a fucking rock tells me it might not be.
That’s not what it’s called either but that movie was fun. It'll do better than Birds of Prey.....oops meant Harlequin: Birds of Prey.
As a kid I dreamed of a Sonic movie for years. I want to go see this movie just to fulfill that childhood desire. But my current self just can't believe that this will be any good at all. I'm torn about whether I should see this or not.
One you tuber who I'm subscribed to, who are actually two people, who both loved the movie, and who correctly name Mortal Kombat as the best video game adaptation before this.
Also, I did say "might."
How could they miss the opportunity to give us super saiyan sonic in a movie!? I’m a little disappointed but not really.
So hey, that was a real 5 out of 10 affair. A perfectly average., inoffensive kids film.
If I was eight years old I’d probably be flipping out but as an adult it’s a solid “eh.”
It has more than one cliffhanger, actuallySome reviwers are talking nonsense to hate inexistent issues, like "the sonic friend isn't funny as Jim Carrey"...And lot more bs.
I read from some trustworthy pages that the movie is fun to watch and has a cliffhanger to a sequel!
Would say POP is better than Silent Hill thoughSilent hill is better because it's an actual movie with a bit of substance. Mortal kombat is just a pretty decent popcorn flick.
Tron is number 2.
Mortal kombat is 3.
Makes me wonder if that was actually the design at all or just a marketing device to get people talking... cause it definitely did get the movie highlighted everywhere.Seeing how good he looks now makes me wonder what the hell were they thinking with that first design ,,
Maybe it did work..because ...um...uh..oh boy..Makes me wonder if that was actually the design at all or just a marketing device to get people talking... cause it definitely did get the movie highlighted everywhere.
Oh you bet well get a sequel. It will gross over a 100 mill worlwide this weekend at least.I liked it. I saw it last night, and I had a good time. I thought it was about as good as a Sonic movie could be. Fun for kids for sure, and enough nostalgia for adult fans of Sonic to appreciate it. Jim Carrey was great as Robotnik, and I liked how his name was Robotnik, but Sonic calls him Eggman as name to mock him with because he has a bunch of egg shaped machines. It all worked well for me. If anything I just wish there were more fight scenes between Sonic and Robotnik, because they were fun.
AlsoI grinned like a kid when Tails shows up during the mid credits. I hope they get to make a sequel
Lol, shit how did I not realize that sooner.Just watched. Im in love with sonic again.
And lol the " mushroom planet" was a jab to mario.
Loved every bit of it.
Well done sega.
Was it now, i just took it as a reference to mushroom hills from S&KJust watched. Im in love with sonic again.

thats what they want you to think.just left the theatre, definitely wasnt as bad as I had anticiapates when they first revealed it (thank god for that remodel...), overall it was pretty tame but definitely one of the better game-based movies.

The best part of this movie imo is making Dr. "Eggman" Robotnik a relevant character. In the games there's no explanations why a human who builds machines exists in a world with talking animals, this movie finally clears that mystery up. You owe to yourself if you're a Sonic fan to go watch this movie. Gets two from me!
The Sonic movie’s out, so we’re now beginning to track how the sales are doing. And it’s doing good so far. Deadline’s reporting that the move has made a combined $20,000,000 in its first 24 hours in the United States, and the day is not yet over. According to Variety, this is including $3,000,000 from Thursday previews. The film’s 4-day opening weekend projections have now risen to $55,000,000. 3-Day projections sit at $47,500,000. The former isn’t surprising, as Sonic’s big screen adventure is matching up with the $55,000,000 that How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World got in its opening weekend last year.
And, believe it or not, those sales numbers are still climbing tonight. Apparently, according to data that a Box Office Theory user has shared, Sonic is outpacing Detective Pikachu by 30%. This was at 17% this morning, and 20% this afternoon. If this trend continues, Sonic may be on pace to have the best opening weekend for a video game adaptation movie.
