The Trials HD Official Thread

I played the latest Trials on the PC a few months ago.

Is it just me, or are these levels completely different?

This game is really, really good on XBLA. I remember when I was playing it on my PC I was dumbfounded that they hadn't ported it to PSN or XBLA.
 
Loved the demo will buy this weekend after payday and buying some points.

It seems a little easier than the PC version, maybe the controller is just preferable to me.

The 60 frames/V-Sync/AA is awesome. It's a really great looking game.
 
Totally loving this game! Didnt really think about it, havent even really read anything about it, but saw the demo and figured i would try it, 5 minutes later i had bought it :D

I'm really interested in trying out some created levels so if any level creators want to add me my GT is Dead Wipe.
 
yeesh, after fighting for a good hour or two through the hard levels i got to the first extreme level and beat it fairly easily before i went off to see a movie, then i got back and was ready to go through extreme lvl 2 and the whole clock ran down on me, the steep hills got the best of me. if i had a temper, this game would give me an aneurysm.

actually sometimes in this game when i'm trying to get somewhere like a steep trail up i get a little panicked, like i'm trapped for good.

it's great though, probably one of the most challenging things i've played in awhile. and it feels good to get through it.
 
How the hell are you supposed to get the Ground Hog achievement w/o changing posture? I've been trying for the past 30 minutes and I DO NOT UNDASTANNND!

Holy shit. Can't put this down. One of the two or three best games on XBLA, without a doubt.

Practice. Took me a long, long time.

Jonsoncao, if there's any confusion, you can't touch the analog stick at all. You can only accelerate and brake.
 
The hard levels. Oh so hard.....After beating splosion man, I was feeling good with another tough game but man this is tough. Loving every min of it though. Fantastic game.
 
ok, this is really good. nice work on the friend list spam MMarsu, I checked it and bought it instantly.

add me people if you want to beat on someone inferior.. I actually did Okay in the time I had last night, got all golds on the beginner at least and some on Medium, but then the time ran out :(

without changing the riders posture seems to indicate not using lean whatsoever with no faults.

Did you touch the analogue stick?
 
So I picked this up even though I own Trials 2 on PC. Just as addicted as I was when I first got that version. Almost through all the medium levels at gold. I can't stop. I've been played for the past 2 hours or so. I'd say this version is a bit easier, but that may be due to experience, and the fact that I haven't reached the hardest levels yet.

I made the mistake of completing "Groundhog Begins" or something like that 5 times without leaning. Then I realized that it wasn't the right level :lol

Still at #6 on the leaderboards. Thought for sure I'd be way out of there by this time.
 
Sweet game, but as mentioned, the hard levels are effin hard. Got through the last hard level yesterday with a mere 175 tries :lol. Im really bad at supressing the bounce of the bike when hitting a slope, I think the rear suspension is stiffer?

Ranked #25 on Let's Get Physical. Me and my friends are having a battle on this fucking map. I love it. Reminds me of Geometry Wars
 
I'm consumed. Ranked 7th on the last level in the Beginner courses, "Groundhog Begins" and I still want more.

Yeah, Trials HD is a new game over Trials 2. Only a couple of levels are somewhat the same.

Yeah, seriously. 30 dollars for 1500 points. You don't even get the full 1600 and because of that it makes you come back for more.

Yea, I was having some trouble with it. Eric blasted through it while I took my 200 bails lol. Im LOVING the create a track in this game, so many things you can do.
 
I remember when RedLynx used to (or maybe still do? IDK) make those shitty SMS-games for TV channels. And now they do this. Kudos.
 
Just beat the final track. So far only 71 people have done so and I'm sitting at 49th.

Ranked 12th on Groundhog Forever and 49th on Bown Boxes

Have yet to get any platinums so I'mma try to do that now.

I just wanted to go to bed ahead of him on the global leaderboard. 124th, I need to savor this. Only other XBLA game I went this insane was N+, and I was much better at that.

It's now sold over 34k in just 24 hours :o

Shocked for a 1200 point game, that's very good for a downloadable title. Wonder what it will reach over time.
 
Finally finished Inferno II, which "only" took 229 faults and 15 minutes. My left wrist is killing me now :lol

This game is absolutely awesome though. Definitely going to pick up Trials 2 SE sometime in the near future.
 
Damn this game for making me buy Turtles in time, original plan was to skip on both of them (2d motorcycle racer looked zzz, effing demo) but with the promotion there's no reason to skimp.

Oh well, free and awesome games FTW.

I'm using an arcade stick. This is HARD without analog thumbsticks/triggers. I'm too lazy to plug in my normal controller.
 
Is anyone else having sound issues with the game?

Whenever I go through a checkpoint, the sound cuts out for a second, almost like it is trying to play a sound effect but can't find the audio file.

I've deleted and re-downloaded the game but it still happens.

Isn't it just the band-pass filter effects?

for day one with this i think i'm getting an alright hang of the learning curve. i sure hope i'm not as good as i'll get though, i have a painful time with bucking over objects sticking from steep parts or trying to leap from from point to point.

I don't think so, if my understanding of the Wikipedia article is correct.

I mean that whenever I pass through a checkpoint, no sound (effects or BGM) plays for a second and then everything comes back.

Of course the sound settings could be set to 7.1 or something and, as I'm outputting stereo through the TV, maybe it simply needs to be changed.

oh man just tried the demo and its fucking addicting. even my bro who doesn't play games much had to have go at it, love it too. too good to pass up.
 
First day sales of 36,000 (judging by leaderboards), thats pretty amazing for a $15 game that seemed like it had no hype behind it.

Really love the game although I'm pretty terrible at it.

All pretty damn good bar Warhammer, but on platforms where no one really buys games like the NGage.

im pleasantly surprised its getting great sales :D
was worried ppl would be put off by the usual omg 1200 pts is too much! that and shadow complex taking all the spotlight
