Well then. Game on!

Just played another couple of hours. Still getting XP on every quest, so I seem to not have the bug...
I had noticed a couple times during my playthrough that a mission did not give me experience and found it weird. Thought because I did not know this was considered a bug and I thought it was some weird decision to not allocate experience for the specific mission. Anyways as someone who has been doing pretty much every sidequest I can, every witcher contract I can, and clearing out tons of ?'s on the map I still feel overleveled for where I am in the story. I am currently 4 levels above my recommended story mission.
So in my experience at least the experience bug is not so severe that you cannot play the game. I'm playing on Broken Bones diff, and my story is only one anecdote though.
Horrible bug in any case, especially bad for console where there is no easy F5 to mash on throughout a quest progression.
just completed Get Junior and got 0 exp for it.
Holding off![]()
The game throws such much exp in contracts and side stuff it really does not matter that main quests are not doing it. This will only affect people who are just rushing main quests and ignoring all the side stuff
I still finished the game at 35, which there is an achievement for, so I doubt this is that significant.
Hope so. I haven't encountered it either.Still getting XP after 4 hours of play today, so knock on wood its isolated.
I haven't noticed this...
And it feels like I'm leveling too fast. I almost wish they reduced the XP gain.
Blame Sony and MS then. They are the ones that force a week long certification process on all patches. PC players only have to wait three days.
I completed Pyres of Novigrad and didn't get any experience for it. Looked on YouTube and they got 500XP for finishing the mission.
500XP is a lot to not be getting. For comparison killing a wild dog is only worth 1XP and defeating a human opponent is worth only 2XP.
Is this serious? They release a faulty software and it's Sony's and Microsoft's fault?
O my fucking god, thank you for making this thread. I seriously thought I was going insane not seeing the XP bar progress after certain quests.

Hmmm, kinda paranoid now. I've nearly 30 hours done and am at level 8.
Only completed the first part of the B. Baron's quest. Haven't visited the Witch or Novigrad yet.
The 1.03 patch didn't fix the missable Gwent cards at the start either.
They seriously need to fix Galaxy to not update automatically.
Would fix a lot of this shit

Nope, not on the PS4 version, guessing wasn't fixed on the Xbox One either. It did. You can buy them from the merchant you saved at the beginning.
I thought this thread was about people trying to play the game on Windows XP.
Doing sidequests and just exploring in general puts you way past the main quest levels. Game on, GAF.
Yeah, the PC patch that fixes this went up after the console patch went to cert. I'd expect this, bigger fonts and broken XP fix in next week's update.Nope, not on the PS4 version, guessing wasn't fixed on the Xbox One either.
I'm playing on Blood and Broken Bones. No idea what difficulty the YouTuber was playing on.What difficulty?

Are you telling us shaving or always getting a good night's sleep would be workarounds ?One of my buddies has been studying this exp bug for a couple days now, and he has been able to recreate the circumstances that causes it. He showed me a video he recorded; if you accept a quest at night while it's raining, AND if your Geralt has a beard, the exp bug will occur until you shave again. Weird, I know.
They should be happy, with the bug I'm 3 levels above the main quest. And even got to be 5 levels above, but I switched to Death March. Imagine without the "bug".
I'm getting XP. I'm over leveled so I get shit XP but I dunno. Nothing I noticed is zero XP. I will do side quests and question marks until they iron it out I guess.

To those talking about being over leveled for main story quests, does it make sense to do the main story first and then side quests afterwards for a better experience?
