:O No startup logo?

I thought Matt's debug didn't have one because it was a debug :o

I think there should be a startup logo and an option to have it on/off in the wii options

Yah, that's exactly what i thought... :(

i expected a simple startup logo like in the Japanese ads. and like with the DS.

I could do without it...the way the channels appear with a musical cue accompanying them is sleek and inviting.

what did he say about the difficulty?
He said that it's a difficult game and mentioned that it's now much harder to fill your hearts this time (although he compared it to Wind Waker in that department, which isn't saying much..).

Also, he said that most enemies can knock half a heart out of Link, and he was already facing enemies that knock TWO hearts at once (this is long before the third dungeon, barely 10 hours in).

I think maybe they removed a startup logo because TVs don't have startup logos either.

Who the hell wants a startup logo? Its fine for the first few times, but with the amount of screens you need to go through to actually start playing something, I welcome its removal. Its one less hassle and one less step. Or maybe some people get confused about what system they're playing, and need a reminder? Would be a bit tough to do with that controller..

(From the latest - "Iwata interviews dev team" Miyamoto & Aonuma on the table)

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4755413&postcount=368

Absolutely awesome. Here's my quick translation notes.

Hardware and loading times

First they talk about loading times. 2-4 second loading in-game. But Aonuma said he had envisioned the necessity of a "loading in progress bar" first, but the loading was so quick in Zelda, it didn't become necessary. Also if you leave the game in the Wii, it will load it up quicker next time. Using the internal Flash. Iwata also said he hopes they will be able to make the "channel switching" even quicker in future updates. They are so transparent and honest that they are not happy with startup times yet. Iwata had a goal of 3 seconds from pushing the power on the remote to game start. "We didn't make it there yet unfortunately" he says honestly.

Zelda development

Before they decided to delay by a year. A lot of fantastic parts were done, but lacking unity. Miyamoto was very concerned about this. But it was Iwata who proposed to Aonuma to give it another year. (My reading between the lines give me the sense that Miyamoto hinted to Iwata that it was a tough situation).

Later Iwata end up discussing what "Zelda" is as a concept. Aonuma starts babbling a bit. But Miyamoto simply says, the Zelda concept and Mario concept actually are very much alike. Why? Answer follows in next segment.

I love these interviews.

Thanks.

Glad they didn't include a loading bar. I hate them with a passion- they just pull you out of the game whenever they appear. Even if its just he word 'loading'.

It's his JOB to tell Amir0x that.
After all these impressions, it has had to change your mind a little right? Maybe your still getting the gamecube version but do you think that the wii version won't be worse anymore?

In fact, I don't even want to play the game. I want to see Amir0x playing it and waggle the shit out of the wiimote.

Not really, but it's a little entertaining to see someone baselessly stick to his guns out of e-pride :)

It's okay. Some people are just easily persuaded.
And some people are close minded and not open to change. Even if the change came after 8 years and 3 (and a half) games with the same control scheme that slightly evolved.

Now, almost all journalists who played the final game said they see no real problems with the Wii controls for the game, and that it is clearly better and more enjoyable than the classic control scheme. And you can even aim with analog (if you want to). The widescreen support and cool speaker functionalities also make this game better.

And let's not forget that the Wii version comes 24 days early.

Kohler's impressions really hit home.
I honestly don't see how anyone would want to choose the GC version after reading that and I'm not afraid to say it.

The GC version is $250 cheaper since I already own a GC. The Wii will be the first Nintendo console that I skip but the PS3 and 360 should keep me busy enough. I may reconsider later but that's the plan for now.

He did say that if the Wii doesn't interest you, then of course you would be getting the Cube version. That's just common sense.

People are free to buy the GC version for whatever reason... but its going to be the very last Zelda they play with that kind control

I hope Nintendo can get it together and give us another Zelda on Wii a few years from now.

Matt said that he wished that Nintendo cancelled the GC version, I felt like that months ago
CHANGE IS GOOD BITCHES!
