Would like to see a Metroid game with this look.
I'm glad that there are others that prefer Samus to be a serious warrior, rather than a sexed up petite cheerleader. This is what I need.
And the nipple isn't bad in OP, as it's a common staple in sci-fi body suits and the like. Especially when you go into the potential symbolism of the Zero Suit (if it weren't literally just there for fanservice).
Plus it is indeed a skin tight body suit, I'm surprised that they haven't gone all the way and made ZSS like Taki, but at this rate, who knows.

What do you suppose that body suit is made of? Skin tight and sheer are two different properties. It was clearly a deliberate choice by the artist to depict the nipple even though it doesn't make much sense, and some of us are just saying that was a dumb choice.

Imagine if OP had posted a picture of male Shepard with an unnecessarily detailed bulge in his crotch. You'd get similar responses of completely unnecessary sexualization of an otherwise great piece of art.

You don't think it's sexualized when the artist purposefully made the armor not cover the boob, have it very central to the composition, and then add a huge rock hard nipple to it? Seriously?

The nipple isn't even the worst thing, the anatomy is all over the place in that fanart. Why is her right boob in the center of her chest. Why is her head so freaking huge. Why is her arm so thin? WHERE DID HER NECK GO?
The artist is crazy talented and the picture looks awesome, until you take a closer look and notice all the weird things.

People who hate it are old school. It has a stigma from the old days, imo. DA is incredibly popular and big now. So many amazing artists use it to showcase their works these days including a lot of pros.

Absolutely. But what's even better than fan art is finding a Metroid sculpture/statue. Man, some folks in the fanbase are dedicated. Same goes for the FF fanbase, since I found a Chinese fan that made a sculpture of Ultima from FFXII.JasonMCG said:

What do you suppose the magic suit that transforms into a ball without crushing its host is made of?
"Realism" arguments are the worst.
"Real" or not, our nipples are not sticking up all the time. The only practical reason to include it in this picture is to up the sex appeal.

I find it interesting that everyone seems to be all offended that other people are offended that someone is showing artists interpretations of Samus' nips.
I mean really, she is supposed to be this nordic looking stoic space valkyrie who chooses the death of planets at the end of her arm cannon but for some reason people show the nips because: woman. I mean it's totally reasonable I mean she has them she is a woman yes? yes? Okay. Okay I see how this works.

But wouldn't you agree that looks more like what was depicted in the instruction manual and not from an episode of Sailor Moon?
I think its because samus is being turned in to some sort of sex symbol when we've already got plenty of those. It would be nice to have one female protagonist thats just a bad ass space bounty hunter.

So perhaps this way it would make more senseThe best Samus fan art I've ever seen is one where the suit is created like a mech and samus is sitting in the center of it, instead of as a suit that she actually fills fully. Such a cool, alternative take on her classic design.
