That screen looks realy good, imagine the intro being them travelng on that boat from the old island pacific rift to san fransisco

Or better yet, have the boat transport the festival, vehicles and drivers to different locations around the world opening the game up to loads more variety and possibilities!:D

I'm a big fan of motorstorm and really want this next game to really push for that epic feel of the 2005 trailer i want cockpit view (and yeah i'm not buying their previous excuses), loadsa mud spraying up onto the windscreen, deforming vehicles etc.

I'd love some nightracing too including headlights the lower visibility with all the vehicles smashing each other up would be chaos and maybe even a stunt tracks kinda hinted at in the first game.

i think it`s fake but regarding the "T".....
Still, no point in using a very, very similar looking font like in "Wasteland" with subtle differences instead of keeping it uniform and the same. The second option is to go with a completely different font/look like they did for Pacific Rift.

If this game doesn't support my GT wheel, I will go insane.

Chubs, does any ol' racing game have wheel support? I'm not sure of the tech, so I was wondering if it was a simply case of it registering the left/right rotation or if it had to be specifically supported.

I'm jumping into the cheaper end of the market with a Driving Force Pro, very much looking forward to it.

Speaking of loading screens, I hope Evolution Studios got their fucking act together regarding loading times.

They did on MS2. Guess you would have had to play it to know that. :p

I played both of the demos released, the second which was final code, as far as I know. Still had lovely 30-second loading times. Loading from the hard drive. Yayz.

There is no doubt that MS2 had vastly improved load times. And I think most that played MS2 would agree that loading wasn't a real issue any more.

Prologue Type S Alpha
Looks good. I hope the art style from the loading screens carries over into the actual gameplay environments.

You sure have a neck for saying something stupid don't you?

A "neck"? "You sure have a neck" for something? I think you mean "knack":
Main Entry: knack
Pronunciation: \ˈnak\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English knak
Date: 14th century
1 a : a clever trick or stratagem b : a clever way of doing something
2 : a special ready capacity that is hard to analyze or teach
3 archaic : an ingenious device; broadly : toy, knickknack
synonyms see gift

Ironic that you would accuse someone of saying something stupid and then, well . . . yeah.

The only think that really needs to be fixed is the sound output of the custom soundtrack. It was atrocious when you compare it to wipeout hd, I had to almost turn the sound effects off to hear my music. The setting looks good, only evolution can make urban racing fun.

I'm subscribing what has just been said, Pacific Rift doesn't have the annoying loading times from the first one.

For God's sake, MS in a post-apocaliptic setting?! *sigh* I can't be the only one who wants this game to go back to basics and be more like the first game, right?

The first one is both an awesome action game and an awesome racing game. And even though I'm having a great deal of fun with the second one it's more of a spiritual successor than a sequal. It's a nice game and all but apart from the name it doesn't have much in common.

edit: what? PR is exactly like MS1, just w/o deserts.

30 seconds should be the limit though, I just played some random campaign events and the load times were between 20-25 seconds. But... I don't think that's really that bad for loading a relative complex track with 16 different vehicles and w/o any game install (btw the one DLC track I played was 16 seconds, maybe an optional install for MS3 would be nice).

and anyway, the main offender of the first game, the 3D vehicle select screen, is gone before a race.
Loading times never felt like an issue in MS:pR
(besides, for the later medals you often have to replay evens anyway and that's w/o any loading ;> )

btw. ah, it was nice to see the MS:pR rl/cgi/gameplay intro again:

obviously they will do one for MS3 as well :)

I'm sure this has been covered already, but didn't Liverpool Studio and Evolution merge?

Typos != saying something stupid. I'm not a native English speaker, so . . . yeah.

30s loading times are acceptable. Specially for games like there's where no streaming can be done and there's no level linearity.

I think membership is based on time not number of post. I think.

It is, unless mods approve them. And why would they approve him?
He's probably a Evolution dev

I hope for a full blowout as soon as possible, really eager to check a video or read some meaty impressions. Call me crazy, but right now, I'm more interested in this game than LBP2 or GT5. Yes, I liked MS2 that much.
