I 100%'d Mighty Switch Force! 2 last night and promptly started EDGE.

Hm ok let's see

Good times ahead :-)

Just got my platinum in Second Son on April 1st. (ahead of the pack!)

Haven't opened MGS GZ since I'm scared it's short but I will probably break down tonight and give it a go. Even creeping and crawling and counting bricks, I should have it finished in a few hours.

Outlast has been just sitting in my menu bar taunting me. I tried to play it, I really did, but I'm a of the jumpy sort so after the
guy in the wheelchair at the end of the hall
I was just NOPE and haven't turned it on since. I have been really tempted to get Wonderful 101 so that will perhaps be my third game for the month.

Challenge accepted!

Well, Dishonored's already finished. I was into it at the beginning, but really had trouble getting through the middle of the game. Thankfully, the end of the game picked up again, and I ended up playing it a lot longer tonight than I anticipated.

  1. Dishonored
  2. Yoshi's New Island
  3. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

I'm replaying RDR right now (played it on 360, never ps3), and I'd like to finish up Metro: LL, MGS: GZ, and put more time into Papers, Please. Pretty reasonable I think before Child of Light comes out and takes over.

Last month I finished South Park: Stick of Truth, Flower, I platinumed inFAMOUS: SS, and I put a solid 20 hours into Ni No Kuni. Thanks surgery recovery time!

In some ways I'm still holding out for a PC/next-gen version of RDR.
I have the PS3 version sitting on my shelf, yet I continue to wait.

Currently Playing ...

Crysis 3
Tales of Symphonia HD
Xenoblade Chronicles
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix HD

Next up ...
Beyond
Metro: Last Night

Sniper Elite V2

So many games so little time. Enjoying the hell out of my rpgs though.

I finished the three games. :)

Doki-Doki Universe
Dark Souls 2
Atelier Escha & Logy

I'll probably split my game time between Outlast, FFX and Atelier Ayesha next.

Back to a somewhat normal work schedule this month. Going to try and get some more stuff in.

PSone:
Tecmo's Deception: Invitation to Darkness
In the Hunt

3DS:
Yoshi's New Island

PS3:
Dark Souls II
South Park: Stick of Truth

Saturn:
Astal

Steam/PC:
Half-Minute Hero II: The Second Coming

Only thing I've gotten in so far this month is a second ending in Yumi's Odd Odyssey.

I think I can be part of this, as I'm getting close to beating a good amount of games :).

So far I've beaten Tomb Raider 2013 on PS3 today, so that leaves....I suppose Brothers A Tale of Two Sons for PS3, Fez (just got the game a week or so ago) for Vita, God of War: Ghost of Sparta PSP, and Gurumin for PSP. A good line up of games to beat I would say :).

I would lump Outland and GoJ: Gunslinger but wont do so due to the former being labeled here 'impossible' to beat (guess I will see for myself...) and the latter for refusing to instal on my PS3 for some reason (will contact Sony about that if it keeps happening; I hope so, as the game is a really hit here and would love to play it :().

Thief
South park the Stick of Truth
Castlevania 2 Lords of Shadow

After that, as much progress as I can in:
Yakuza: Isshin
Dragon Dragoon 3
Ace Attorney Investigations 2

What did you think of it overall? Which
ending
did you get?

I liked it for the most part. My attention span definitely started to waiver around chapter 4 or 5, but it pulled me back in at the end. It's definitely a competent game, but it's not a genre that I usually get too into, and I think playing Thief so recently detracted from the experience a little bit. Not because Thief was a better game, but just because they share so much in terms of structure. I really dug the artstyle though. Sometime I'd like to go back and revisit the DLC, since I heard they polished a few of the mechanics.

Regarding the ending, I got
the high chaos ending. Up to chapter 4, I was really doing a great job with stealth and had low chaos at the end of each mission, but after that I just let go and killed a lot of people. I did like the elements of the world changing based on your actions (rat population, etc.)

Just got Rune Factory 4, Zelda: ALBW, and Bravely Default at Target's B2G1...That is a lot of the backlog.

To be fair, the 3DS isn't going to have that great of a year in 2014, most of the titles I will skip or grab on PC.

PSone:
Tecmo's Deception: Invitation to Darkness
In the Hunt

3DS:
Yoshi's New Island

PS3:
Dark Souls II
South Park: Stick of Truth

Saturn:
Astal

Steam/PC:
Half-Minute Hero II: The Second Coming

Power-housed the original Deception today. Just saw one of the evil endings, I think. Such a cool game. So many interesting/cool ideas for a game as old as it is. My first exposure to the series was with Trapt on PS2, so I'm trying to go back and play the older games before I dive into Deception IV. I think I'm going to load my save file up tomorrow after work and check out the "good" ending before I shelf it. Luckily, it's one of those games that has branching ending choices right at the end, so I won't have to replay the game from scratch to see a different conclusion. Game was looooooong too, way longer than I anticipated.

My bro got me Astal for b-day. Haven't played it since I was a kid. Made a run of the game this morning and got close to the end, I think. Game's so much better than I remembered. Classic 90's platformer. I also got to the final stage in In the Hunt on default credits/Normal difficulty, but I couldn't finish it. Game's short, but fairly tough. =*<( Irem

Already wrapped Infamous Second Son Good play through, I may attempt an Evil one in the coming weeks. I'm pretty confident that this is the month that Killzone SF finally goes down, but after downloading several games that have just been hanging out on my PS+ Account (Enslaved, Far Cry Blood Dragon, Rain, Just Cause 2 plus the recently free Arkham City) I'm not sure what the third game will ultimately be.

1.Infamous Second Son
2. Killzone Shadow Fall
3. Octodad

Wrapped up Killzone the other day, could not be more pleased to be done with and delete that game. I wanted to like it. I tried to like it. It was so... blah for so much of it. Generic scifi FPS could have been its alternate title.

Tappingo
Bravely Default Gameplay has slowed down, but the story's intriguing me.
Infamous 2: Platinum'd. The Infamous games that I've played do bother me a little, in that they feel a lot shorter than perhaps I'd an open-world game to be. An Assassin's Creed would take me three to five weeks to complete a single fairly comprehensive playthrough. Infamous 2 took me a little over a week to complete a comprehensive playthrough *and* mopping things up for the other to get Platinum. I think Infamous 1 did take me a little longer, but I also think that was largely due to some stunts that took a while to perform rather than much extra content in the game. Not, I should add, that I think the length is particularly problematic; I think it's a good length for what it is, and the fact that it's short enough to not feel particularly daunting to play through a second time is a point in its favour - but I also don't really view it in the same context as the GTAs, the Saint's Rows, the Assassin's Creeds as a result. I think it serves to highlight one thing that annoys me, actually; the use of the term "Open world" as a genre; it's not. I have a similar attitude to the use of "sidescroller" as a genre, actually. Particularly because some people use the term for games that don't actually scroll!
Under a Killing Moon: A tentative addition right now, I'm not completely set on it, but it'd be good to play Tesla Effect as soon as it's available.

Alright Grief, I'll join in this month :p

Not sure why as I never complete any games I list, like the previous times I've done this. But here goes anyways since I just had shoulder surgery and will be off work a few months!

1. Type:Rider: Fun little puzzle game, but sometimes I could have used more precise controls :/. Nice history lesson as well, but after reading a few of the pages, mostly skimmed through the rest so I could just play the game.
2. Finding Teddy: Strange little adventure game. Overall, didn't really enjoy it, too strange for my taste.
3. Strider (almost complete)
4. Goat Simulator
5. Year Walk
6. Nihilumbra

I listed 5 since I'm close to wrapping up the first 3. Let's see what I can do :)

Added a 6th game and completed it today. Currently working on Year Walk, which is quite freaky!

I am feeling somewhat ambitious this month. So let's go for the fences.

Final Fantasy X HD (Already a little over 17 hours in)
Final Fantasy XIV (Going to attempt to get my lancer to max level)
Trials Fusion (Because I hate myself)

Gonna go for these.

- Resident Evil 4
- Earthbound
- Final Fantasy VII

I've been doing terrible lately and want to beat some of these already. :P

Ended up getting through Bioshock Infinite Burial at Sea Episode Two before getting to my main targets for the month. Pretty good time; I still think it has some issues, similar to the main game and first episode, but I can't help but get sucked into the story and art.

  1. Dishonored
  2. Yoshi's New Island
  3. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Bonus:
  1. Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two

Dynasty Warriors 8
FFXHD
Not sure

Meant to finish Dynasty Warriors 8 in March, but it slipped into April. I intend to finish FFX this month. I slacked a lot last month so I intend to pick up the pace this month. Seeing as how we are already 8 days into April I am not sure that'll happen.

  • Infamous Second Son Completed the good ending, and in the process of working through the paper trail and evil run
  • The Last of Us: Left Behind
  • Outlast
  • Titanfall Sort of a throwaway
Bonus: Batman Arkham City

Having had much luck on the backlog between marriage and moving (not to mention losing access to PC titles), but things are settling down enough now to get my console backlog on the fast track.

Wii U:
  • New Super Mario Bros. U - Beaten 100% yesterday in co-op with a friend.
  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - Beat the game, now starting to 100% it.
PC:
  • The Walking Dead including 400 days DLC - Completed. Fantastic experience and will probably go through it once more at a later time when my backlog looks better.
  • L.A Noire
  • I Am Alive
3DS:
  • Pokèmon Y
PS1:
  • Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone - Fun little game for the Potter-nerd inside me. Took me about 6 hours to complete.
Great month ahead.

PSone:
Tecmo's Deception: Invitation to Darkness
In the Hunt

3DS:
Yoshi's New Island

PS3:
Dark Souls II
South Park: Stick of Truth

Saturn:
Astal

Steam/PC:
Half-Minute Hero II: The Second Coming

Finished In the Hunt tonight after work. My run started really shitty, but I somehow pulled through at the end. Really great shmup from Irem. Finished with default settings on Arcade mode, but there's a Playstation mode I may check out in the coming days. I also might try Hard mode, but we'll see how long that will last, hah!

First game of the month done!

Finished up Separate Ways, unlocking the last costume.

Now I just need to do a Pro run to finish off the achievements for this one. Probably won't start that for a little while though. The other two achievements just unlock naturally through gameplay, though it is possible to miss them as I did on my normal run.

My List

Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways (PC)
Dark Souls II (PC)
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (3DS)
South Park: The Stick of Truth (PC)
Golden Sun (GBA)

Great. I finished 2 playthrough of inFamous: SS, yesterday. Evil powers/karma and last 3trophies have left to platinum. I hope it will be my first platinum ever.
However I still not decided what to play next. In this weekend I'll grab PS2, again. After 8 years, because my fat PS3 died, last summer and I couldn't play in any PS2 games.

1. inFamous: Second Son - evil powers
2. Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within (PS3) / Devil May Cry 2 (PS3)
3. Shadow of Memories (PS2) / Black (PS2)

This is the most probably.

My April List:

Mass Effect 3 (almost done with the first playthrough, planning to start a 2nd)
Thief (not started yet)
PES 2014
another of the free PS+ games i got the last months, probably Metro Last Light

I have been filling in my PS2 collection lately for emulation purposes.

Gorgeous

Finished my second game of the month, Year Walk. Loved this one, wrote a review about it at the bottom of the post.

Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways (PC)
Year Walk (PC)
Dark Souls II (PC)
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (3DS)
South Park: The Stick of Truth (PC)
Golden Sun (GBA)

Just finished Year Walk and thought I would give some impressions for those on GAF.

Year-Walk_logo.jpg

What a surreal experience.

Year Walk can essentially be described as a classic adventure game played in first peson. You move around the forest as you go on your 'Year Walk' and slowly piece together the puzzles and obscure story. It won the iOS GOTY award last year from many publications and I can easily see why it deserves the accolades.

Year Walk is heavily based on Swedish folklore and has an amazing art style. You will run into all kinds of creepy demons throughout your adventure. The game does have a few jump scares, but, overall, is more unsettling than scary.
I would mention that I found the atmosphere quite breathtaking. The mood is set by the oppressive musical backdrop that never distracts as you crunch your way through the snow of the forest.

The puzzles are where I really dove into the game. I assembled a full piece of paper covered with drawings, notes, and clues over the course of my travels. There is an in-game map, encyclopedia, and hint system to help you through the game and learn about the Swedish background.

The game is quite short, your first play through should take you about forty five minutes to an hour and a half depending on how quickly things click for you. Multiple play through are encouraged and, in fact, half of the story and the true ending are hidden away in subsequent play. The method of unlocking that ending and reading through the story is quite the ride.

It is unfortunate as the game has been looked over on Steam entirely. Possibly due to the stream of trash that has been coming down as part of Valve's policies lately. I hope that it gets some more attention going forward as it is a great title.

Coming along nicely Grief! Just wrapped up Year Walk myself. At first I wasn't a huge fan, but as the game went along I enjoyed how the story played out.

So that just leaves:

1. Type:Rider:
2. Finding Teddy:
3. Strider (almost complete)
4. Goat Simulator
5. Year Walk
6. Nihilumbra

PSone:
Tecmo's Deception: Invitation to Darkness
In the Hunt

PS4:
Strider

3DS:
Yoshi's New Island

PS3:
Dark Souls II
South Park: Stick of Truth

Saturn:
Astal

Steam/PC:
Half-Minute Hero II: The Second Coming

Goal met! I was in the middle of Strider on PS4 since its release and I finally gathered the little motivation I had left in me last night and finished it off tonight after work. Cleared the game on Hard and got the Speed Demon trophy too (3 some hour run). I liked a good portion of the game, but it sort of lacked a soul/personality. The "Metroid" elements were pretty amateurish too and while the boss fights were decent, it all felt just bland, boring and samey. I dug some of the platform-driven design/challenges towards the end, but the whole game just felt like it was in one ear and out the other. Grant it, I sort of rushed the game my first time, so maybe a thorough slower placed second playthrough will make me appreciate some things more. I don't know, the game just didn't really do much for me in the end. I wasn't the biggest fan of Strider back in the day (and I'm still not) so maybe my mileage with this game was only going to go so far. Oh well.

Top Priority:
Danganronpa
Fez
Brothers

Extras:
Pokemon Y
Dark Souls II

Just for fun:
CS:GO
Pokemon Trozei
Guild Wars 2

------------------------------------------------------------
Beat Dangan the other day...it was ok?
I think my expectations were really high, especially having played 999/VLR and having heard VLR is comparable to this one.
Either way
a couple of my favorites made it to the end, but just when I thought things were going to get really crazy, it just sort of fell flat. Interested in the second one, and I hope it works a bit better.

Been playing a ton of GW2, which due to gaf involvement is always a blast.

I started playing Super Metroid a few days ago, then accidentally screwed up my save file...oops, so much for that one.

Just beat Yoshi's New Island this afternoon, but can't say I really dug it. I think if Nintendo hadn't saturated their platforms over the last few years with 2D platformers, it would have been more positively received, but as it stands, it just does nothing to stand out.

  1. Dishonored
  2. Yoshi's New Island
  3. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Bonus:
  1. Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two

I had to change my april list.
This weekend was very bad for me and especially my wife and son, so I haven't time and will to play. However I tried Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, on saturday for a while and i liked it. Finished it, yesterday, after 3,5 hours in game. Very decent title, with great story without words.

1. inFamous: Second Son (PS4)
2. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PS3)
3. Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within (PS3) / Devil May Cry 2 (PS3) ??
4. Shadow of Memories (PS2) / Black (PS2) ??

3 and 4 probably. Anything else? Possible.
