Is that a sword I see. Wounder how that will pan out.
But really, they should resize the HUD.

I'm trying to figure out how the actual objects that aren't shadows could play into the game beyond providing an extra layer of visuals.

You can change the direction of the light source, so depending on where the objects are, you could have an easy to climb wall or a massively high one

Wow. This game could end up being fucking great. Let's hope they can pull this off because it looks good so far.

Hudson have been doing some pretty cool stuff on the Wii. This looks to be the coolest though. Definitely interested.

I agree. When I look at third parties who delivered on the Wii, Hudson is among the top tier.

But Hudson's focus until now has been multiplayer games. I don't know if they'll make a good single player game but I'm now interested knowing they are involved in this project.

As much as I hated Ico for its gameplay, it had a great aesthetic. As long as there's no weird escort gameplay in this, which doesn't seem likely, I think it could be pretty sweet.

While the game is hot, I do hope it has SOME variation in the environment..
Anyway, WAY TO GO HUDSON, YOU MAKE ME INTERESTED IN STUFF!

...it will never come to Europe, will it?

It looks like a mixed menu of following ingredients: Braid, Prince of Persia and ICO. The puzzles from Braid, the atmosphere from POP and the Setting from ICO, mixed together with a little bit of a comfortable control scheme for a point & click adventure.

At least I'm hoping that my intuition doesn't fool me.

The Wii really is starting to "hold its own" against the HD Combo in terms of third party games.

This looks great but I'll probably wait if the game costs $50.

Very intriguing and the concept is pretty cool. I hope they do a lot of fun stuff with it. I wonder how they handle the night

However, that HUD has got to go, dear god. It's gigantic and ugly. tbh this should be a HUDless game, no matter what mechanic is going on behind the scenes

for some reason When I read "Tower of Shadow" I expected a dungeon crawler. :lol

I foolishly came into the thread with a sort of quasi-hope the game would bear some resemblance to Shadow Tower (PSX).

This is a really fucking cool concept, though. Definitely on my radar now.

The screen above makes me wonder a) will there be some incorporation of 3D in this game and b) could sunlight at different times of the day factor into said 3D.

Maybe I'm just setting myself up, but the thought was just screaming out at me.

That could really be awesome. As the time changed throughout the game and according to the internal clock, the obsticles would be a little different every time you played the game.

That should be a mode if not the whole game concept.

I really hope there's a two player mode where one player controls the butterfly and thus the light source with the pointer, and other other player focuses strictly on 2D platforming with Wiimote held NES style.

That could potentially create such an awesome dynamic.

Konami? I wonder if they already gave up and will get on board to the Wii train :lol
Not really surprising:

Hudson is a subsidary of Konami (and Nintendo is one of their biggest shareholders after Konami).

I had no idea, thanks for clear up
Most people don't seem to know that. If you look at it this way, Konami and SquareEnix (at least in the past) really do give the Wii a lot of support, but mostly through Hudson and Taito, respectively.

Konami will present this game at gamescom next week :)
Have you heard anything about a Rocket Knight Adventures game by Climax? They've still got a secret Wii/PSP project in the works, and some German site reported a while ago that it's a new RKA game. If it's true, I'm expecting it to be announced next week.

:O

That would be awesome.

It's interesting to note that Konami is listed as publisher in certain regions for some of Hudson's games (mainly in Europe, but also a few in NA), but the majority of their titles are self-published worldwide. That seems odd to me, if they're owned by Konami why doesn't Konami publish all of their games?
