7k on ouya? That's like a 90% attach rate!
Are you trying to suggest that everything above Towerfall did more than ~250k? Because you have one big error. The 250K PS4 figure pertains up to recent days - End of April - while the chart you are using is only for March. Towefall PS4 didn't sell 250k in March.
Nice, glad the game is finally getting the exposure it deserves. Surprised it's doing well on PS4 than PC but still, a great achievement nonetheless.
He further noted that the game had grossed $500K in sales across all platforms.
Why are we 100+ posts into this thread and no one actually read the article to realize it's $500,000 in sales, not 500,000 copies sold?
Still great for an awesome game, but you're looking at an order of magnitude fewer sales than what the thread is suggesting.

Really crappy that the OP chose to copy/paste pretty much everything from the article except for that detail - the detail that was sitting right in the original article's title.
PC will catch up to and pass the PS4 version shortly. I, along with countless others, are waiting for a steam sale.

They changed the article...
It is not 500k copies.
If the steam version makes them more revenue on a sale than on ps4 then it wouldn't be more attractive. Sales don't lose you money.Which is exactly why it may be more attractive to release games on PS4 instead of PC

Oh that puts this and the PS4 download list into a far better perspective. I mean better as in more normal because 500k copies sounded like really huge (for PC too). Why are we 100+ posts into this thread and no one actually read the article to realize it's $500,000 in sales, not 500,000 copies sold?

That's not a reason really. The PC sales are so lucrative that a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise touch the game might end up buying it.Which is exactly why it may be more attractive to release games on PS4 instead of PC
It was close tho, right?

Yeah the title is misleading especially now as it's 500k revenue, not copies sold (Eurogamer's mistake apparently). About 33k copies sold in total.i initially thought that thread title was implying it sold 500k JUST on ps4 lol
Towerfall Shifted 500K Copies, Doing Best on PS4
Towerfall developer Matt Thorson has revealed to Eurogamer that his retro archery-based competitive multiplayer spectacular has been more successful on PS4 than its PC brethren on Steam.
"It's actually doing better on PS4, but it's still doing well on PC," he said in an interview over Skype. "It's doing definitely well enough for me to support myself for quite awhile. That's really encouraging."
Thorson attributed part of Towerfall's PS4 success on the fact that consoles are generally in people's living rooms, hooked up to their TVs by default, whereas PCs are less frequently set up to entertain groups. "I think it's just a console game, ya know?" he said of Towerfall. "People have controllers - it's not confusing to get the controllers like it is for PC - and people have it in their living rooms already. I think a lot of people still sit down with their friends when they play their consoles, whereas they don't do that on PC. Even if it's a single-player game. I know me and my friends will sit down and one of us will be playing a game while everyone else is just hanging out."
"Another reason it's done so well on PS4 is support from Sony." He added. "They've featured and promoted it really well."
When asked about the original Ouya version of Towerfall, Thorson estimated that it had sold about 7000 copies on the Android console. "Being the best game on Ouya isn't a huge deal, but it is nice. It still sells on there."
Eurogamer contributor Joe Denton adored Towerfall upon its PS4 and PC release last month where it featured some new content and the added "Ascension" subtitle. "This is the type of game that creates memories and dissolves friendships, soundtracked by the pained swears of the defeated and the uproarious cheers of the victors," he wrote in his Towerfall: Ascension review.
Guys the original article title and content...
Full copy... it was a Eurogamer mistake... they changed the article.
Don't blame the OP.
Eurogamer edited the article...Eurogamer is saying it grossed $500k, not sold. Thread is misleading and probably should be fixed or deleted since it's spreading false information.

This wasn't even a PS+ free-be right? Holy hell that's impressive!!
If this game sells 500k, what does that tell us about full AAA games like Infameous? Would we assume more or less than 500k?
Which is exactly why it may be more attractive to release games on PS4 instead of PC
7k on Ouya? Ouch.
Read it again. Eurogamer fucked up so the OP and the title were wrong. It's 500k bucks revenue so about 33k copies sold in the 3 platforms total. This game & other games like Dragon's Crown, Demon's Souls, & Dark Souls I & II proves that games don't have to be a blockbuster AAA title to sell well on consoles.
It's the word of mouth & how well the games are marketed that sells games.
500k revenue = 35k units sold - 7k on Ouya = 28k overall, say maybe 18k PS4 and 10k PC, give or take.
