Maybe some internal divisions are receiving the wrong components.

In Australia Samsung has had a recall for topnloaders from 2010 to 2013 they were catching fire.
It was quite a mess as they tried to avoid the recall and some people lost heir homes.

Yep, their washing machines have been catching fire in Australia since at least 2013 and it took them ages to do the recall properly.

And many of the washing machines were rectified with a plastic bag and some tape.

I remember hearing years ago that the wash machines blow up. Never heard anything about a fridge blow8ng up but they don't last very long.

On a related note, my family bought a front loader a couple of years back. And we recently switched to a Toploader and it's much much better.

With the front loader you have to bend down to get clothes out, you have to leave the door open when not using it, lest there be a mildew problem that develops, it holds less clothes, and repeatedly ours did a poor job washing clothes compared to our top loader.

While top loaders may not be as efficient as front loaders, they are more efficient now than they were in the past, and they just flat out do a better job of washing clothes in my opinion / experience.
