I'm not a fan of Ubisoft at all. There a company that made the odd random good game such as Rayman, Beyond Good and Evil and Child of Light.
They make some of the most generic manufactured crap out in the gaming industry. The same kind of crap that you would imagine in a distropian future where it's all grayscale and you're served gruel, but instead served copies of Assassins Creed.
Speaking of, what a bland and boring series. Played through 1 and found it terrible. Played 2 and quite half way and after watching a friend go through the 3 entry and I've come to the conclusion it's just a crap and lifeless series that was bad to begin with. It's the same point I had earlier where it's a lifeless generic factory made game where it's only highly praised because there wasn't much out there; like it and people probably don't expand their horizons to actually look at good games but just accept Assassins Creed and consider them good. This can be applied to any Ubisoft title.
Far Cry. Man I dunno but that was a dead series. I get people praise Vaas but I after watching it, I found the performance insanely overacted, cringeworthy and laughable. It's the only good part of the game too. But yeah, every time Vaas opens his mouth it's a cringeworthy performance. Apply this to all the other generic Ubisoft titles like Watch Dogs, The Division, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recond.
My other issue is their relationship with Nintendo.
They showed off Red Steel for the Wii and man that looked hype. But this is where the whole misleading stunts started to come in. Then it turned out complete and utter rubbish.
Then they did the same with Zombi U. A promising title for the Nintendo launch that utilises the new controls? Of course that was misleading too and resulted in the game being crap.
I hadn't bought a Ubisoft game since. Even Rayman Origins which was a great game, is a game I borrowed since supporting Ubisoft is not worth the money.
Then in 2015, I bought 2 Ubisoft games. As a big fan of Tetris I was offended to hell when they released that awful "Ultimate" Tetris on the Xbox One and PS4. I then ended up buying the Japanese release of Puyo Puyo Tetris. How the hell do you get Tetris so wrong?
The second game was Child of Light and that had it's own problems too. One problem being the game would occasionally slow down and the other being that my achievements wouldn't unlock. I had to delete people from my friends list just to get this one last achievements. You give Ubisoft another chance (or 2) and they still mess this up.
Every thing about Ubisoft is just one huge life. Misleading trailers, gameplay, insulting DLC and business practices and games that are shallow as hell, yet people still support them and buy their games.
Sure they have, they just don't make anime games so they don't cater to your thirst for waifus.
Nah they have that waifu area covered too.
