I just had a sip of some Ubuntu Cola, and this is some delicious soda.
Are there other small brand colas that I should try? I've tested some Cuba Cola in glass bottles, made with real cane sugar just like in the Ubuntu one, and it's pretty great too.

Is this at all related to the operating system?

...weird as hell if so, but I don't think it is.

It's sold at my college. Never bought one. Because it's coke.

I'm going to assume it has something to do with the upcoming World Cup or Africa in general, considering the word itself has roots in Bantu.

Edit: Yup, it's certified by The Fairtrade Foundation and is made from sugar found in Malawi and Zambia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Cola

Yeeesh...you know, the word "Ubuntu" existed before a Linux distro decided to use it.

Ubuntu is an ethic or humanist philosophy focusing on people's allegiances and relations with each other. The word has its origin in the Bantu languages of southern Africa. Ubuntu is seen as a classical African concept. The Ubuntu operating system was named for this principle.

Thumbs up!

And I have no idea actually if it is related to the Ubuntu OS.
I did hear something about Ubuntu Cola being the first coke based on open source-ness, but haven't been able to find ingredients and instructions for making some.

I got some from the local supermarket here in Sweden, and it should be available in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Belgium, France, Italy and online.

They have it at my school. I love it. It's got a great cola flavour that is a nice change from Coke and Pepsi.

So Im guessing that its pretty impossible to find in the US? I would think cities like Austin and stuff would be all over the fair trade soda.

Do you have to compile the cola?

Looks nice, sadly it won't ever be sold on Spain. We are too traditional for this kind of things. They fucking killed Cherry coke :_(

No, you can just do a "sudo apt-get install cola" or use the menu to get one from the vending machine.
