A typo somewhere, or were PC retail software sales really identical to Wii U retail software sales?

Strange thing I noticed browsing a games magazine the other day. Some weird B tier title had an ad. It reminded me of the PS2 days when these random games from small studios could thrive on the platform. Completely went away during the last generation due to increasing costs of development.

Hope Sony is creating fertile ground for weird niche Japanese titles to come to Europe and the UK again.
This is before Pokemon Go got released right?

So we can expect Pokemon to make a dent in the charts next time
Conversely Pokemon GO might lead to an uplift in Nintendo hardware, software and accessories like the Pokemon GO Plus.

The figures I post aren't the exact sales numbers since they are calculated from rounded to nearest tenth figures.

Physical Software Sales by Format (Units)

01 (01) PlayStation 4 - 46%
02 (02) Xbox One - 29.3%
03 (03) Xbox 360 - 7.2%
04 (04) Nintendo 3DS - 5.6%
05 (06) PlayStation 3 - 4.2%
06 (05) PC Software - 3.3%
07 (07) Nintendo Wii U - 3.3%

08 (09) PlayStation Vita - 0.6%
09 (08) Nintendo Wii - 0.3%
10 (10) Nintendo DS - 0.2%

Thanks for posting thread Bruno.
Hmm so PS4 accounts for nearly half of physical software sales.. That's intense.

I'm at a loss as to the current sales difference between PS4 and XB1 in UK, anyone know if that data is out there?

Edit: nice to see DOOM really up there. One of the best gaming surprises I've had in a long while.

PS4 seems to be dominating here in the UK. Not entirely surprised based on the popularity of the system and the support it's getting but considering how popular the 360 was here really shows how MS messed up and don't seem to be able to recover.

UK doesn't care about Nintendo.

Basically back to how things were pre-DS & Wii, more or less.

Reminds me of the old news stories over shop chains one by one dropping Gamecube support. Made me so thankful for Gameplay with their large stock + day one deliveries, if anyone remembers them!

Man the industry really needs a healthy Nintendo. Really sucks the life out when 3DS+Wii U can barely match the output of the 10 year old PS3/360. Seems like PS4/XB1 are doing alright though.

Well if you look at the annual Nintendo report Nintendo UK isn't listed (it only lists main subsidiaries and associates). Looking back in early 2000s whenever there have been consolidated lists you have NOE, France, Benelux and Spain listed (the format of these reports changed during the Iwata years so subsidiary info was not listed so we can't even tell if DS/Wii era make it important enough to list).

I remember them. Shame GAME bought them out (so they could make their website better...considering the current stat of the GAME website...) though there are plenty of other online retailers now.
