Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is (back) up on XBLA

Read the thread. It was 'accidentally' released early today, it was only up for about a half hour. It doesn't work online, so leaderboards are off. We don't know if it's the "real" version or not. 800 points.

Upon further review, apparently it's the beta version, not playable online and without changeable controls (better be adjustable in the final version). Looks like someone leaked from partnernet, or whatever. I feel better now...slightly.
 
Surely once they hit that live switch it can sort itself out, or maybe the redownload will be the new version but already registered as brought.
 
Why are you guys getting refunds? Won't you just download it again when the real thing comes out next Wednesday?

Won't matter. It might even just work when you go back on. I don't know the technical vagaries of it. Worry less. :)
 
Been playing the hell out of the trial for the past 2 hours or so - so busy that I didn't post that I got it - thanks for the heads up GAF! :)

Very nice, definetely arcade perfect as all of the little tricks work against the CPU, as well as the combos... and I hope you can change the buttons in the final since you can't here...

Pretty funny how it got leaked though... heh heh
 
Those achivements are pathetic. You could get the one player ones in like on play through.

I cannot imagine this actually being arcade perfect, none of their emulations have been. The PS2 one just released has slow down and graphical glitches.

I am wondering how Classic Sub-Zero, Ermac and Mileena will work. Unlocked from the start? Doing the Ultimate Kombat Kodes is like impossible in one player.

Yeah, I got 4 achievements in the first two matches. And the UKK characters aren't unlocked from the start.

we're hoping to definitely have it out before next week, there's a lot of factors that don't help with an ETA, such as Friday night primetime for online, that's not to say it won't be out until after the weekend either, we're working towards asap.

Be patient, hope to reveal soon.

Beat me to it!

Most of those achievements are pretty remedial for anyone halfway good at the game. I think the only one that would present a legit challenge is completing all the tiers on arcade mode. UMK3 has the cheapest AI in any fighter I've ever played.
 
The AI isn't challenging or cheap, it's just stupid and simple. The difficulty levels barely even make much difference you're just fighting more matches.
 
I dont mind regetting them, I mean if it registers on my console and wont register again for the 'normal' release, aka making it impossible for them to have been achieved.

Plus i have 3 achievements :P

Well you don't have to worry about that because you only need to beat the game once on any difficulty.

For it to be truly arcade-perfect and perfectly smooth (ie. no hiccups), you'd need a 53hz monitor. Otherwise some frames are being doubled to fill the remaining 7hz of a standard 60hz NTSC display, causing small hiccups.
 
well, it looks like even the mighty UMK3 couldn't make me make a microtransaction, but i gotta admit, from what i've played, this is pretty close to arcade perfect...

 
Ermac was awesome. Are the UKK's the same as the arcade to unlock Mileena/Sub Zero/Ermac? Human Smoke was pretty strong, too. When it IS up/playable again, match videos would be pretty cool. It's been a long time.
 
Arne, thanks for popping in and putting any info you have on the table. Really man, that's very nice of you. Also, I would like to add that I'm very pleased to see Live Arcade content going up on weekends or anytime now rather than just Wednesdays. I know there are a lot of games in the works for LIVE, so seeing them come out whenever they're ready instead of trying to claim and untaken Wednesday is really nice.
 
If Tony Hawk doesn't get released tonight because MS has been scrambling to deal with this UMK3 leak then the dude who leaked this is a jerk >.<

I do too though. I'm fairly certain UMK3 has nothing to do with the timing of the demo.

I still don't have confirmation, but I think the plan is to have UMK3 up by morning (Pacific time), don't quote me on that or kill me if it doesn't happen

For those who have it, does the game work with the DoA4 stick and/or does it control well using the analogue on a controller? My d-pad is completely dead at this point >_<
 
Hmm so Major Nelson says the achievements aren't working, yet I earned 7 of them and they show up on my gamercard (except the last 2 as I didn't reconnect after getting them).
