Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is (back) up on XBLA

jesus ****ing christ this week has been a cluster**** for ms. live down for more than 48 hours for most people, no lumines advanced pack on launch and now UMK3 is out, but not really. ****.

Why is it so hard to 'get something up on XBL'?

shit I cant even get into the section to download any acrade games,getting an error with that too.

edit- nm its working now,downloading.
 
I got the error code too when I tried grabbing it from the first "newly released downloads" section, so I tried going into "Xbox live arcade" and went into it's "newly released downloads" and the games downloading now...

It sucks to have to say this, but just keep trying, XBL seems to be screwed up for eveyone no matter where they live...
 
It started working....annoying I got it to download all the way to 99% and it wouldnt complete.

Now im getting the error again.

As soon as I started the demo it booted me from live, and I just bought it and the full game still booted me....

I guess the "work on XBL" switch is still off for it...

Atleast we managed to get it today...
 
Got the trial, realy fun demo, scorpion was owning me on the 3rd league untill I got use to mortal combat again.

Love this game, its scary how much better I have got at it since the ps1 days and i've not even played it since then!
 
It runs like garbage. I'm not buying the full version. Its super jerky and not fluid at all. It reminds me of a bad SNES port. I mean the graphics look great when they're still, but once the game moves, it looks awful. Sound is great, but still. Gotta be smooth or there's no point. The PS1 port of this game ran better.
 
I can't see anything wrong with it to be honest, in fact I enjoyed my quick burst on it just now. Certainly seems a lot better result than SF2 anyway. I just hope its not laggy online.

Runs like garbage? Seems like the arcade game to me. I can't tell the difference.

1. The PS1 never got UMK3. It got a very shoddy port of MK3 that was far from Arcade Perfect despite what some people tend to think.

2. This runs just like the arcade version.
 
Ok, I had MK3 on PS1 and while I realize this is UMK3, the old PS1 MK3 ran smoother. Maybe its because I have the trial version? I don't know. Are you all playing the full version? I can't imagine how that would make a difference, but I suppose nothings out of the realm of possibility.

I just remember it being smoother. I can't say that enough. Watch your guy walk backward once. Its totally jerky, right? Like the animation is a little busted or something. I can't describe it, but I used to play UMK3 in the arcades and I KNOW it ran better back then. Shit, I think even Midway Arcade Classics 2's version of MK3 ran better.

Not trying to piss on anyone's cheerios, just saying it seems like a shoddy port to me and I don't wanna get the full version unless somebody tells me its better than the trial.
 
This game hasn't aged well for me. I played MK1, MK2 and (to a lesser extent) MK3 to death when I was young, but playing it again doesn't do anything for me. The shitty D-pad isn't helping either.
 
Who is the third unlockable character in this - Ermac, Mileena and?

Btw, I still think the game runs fine, but maybe its my nostalgia making me a bit bias, but its great to play this after MKA :-/

Also forgot how cheap Motaro / aka all MK bosses is/are :lol

Can't wait until online is working.

Also a shame you can't stretch the screen either.

just press start and look for screen size or whatever

I got it and I forgot how much a pain in the ass Motaro is. I got achievements as well. It just disconnects from live whenever i start the game.
 
You guys using the d-pad or analog stick. The stick seems to be working for me ok so far. I can't get to the run button if i use the d-pad. it just feels weird.

I'm pretty sure Rain was only in the PS1 "Mortal Kombat Trilogy" game, although I may be mistaken.



edit: After the Lumines debacle, I'm certailnly going to wait for majority consensus before diving into this one. ;)

Ummmm... When was the last time you played this game? It is running arcade perfect. Perhaps you need to defrag your HD?
