The collision sound effects sound so bad.
Japan is getting a physical release. We don't know about other countries yet.
Street Fighter IV Ryu
IIRC, the artists redrew each still animation frame without consideration for the surrounding frames. That made the animation rather jarring. Also the backgrounds were not as muted as they should have been relative to the foreground.
In short, the artists (and supervisory staff) were not experienced with video game work.
Confirmed: no HD Remix changes. Also, Violent Ken has a command dash. Crazy.
I think.....we're about to experience a robbery.....

I think that the whole "they weren't animators" part is overstated; in the original game, most moves didn't have stuff like smears (most of the smears happened in new moves for the old cast, and the 4 new challengers) and the ones that had was p obvious (like Honda 100 hand slap)
they did fuck up some sprites; Chun in particular looks odd. not all the art is good
I feel the real problem is that the higher definition in the sprites was not accompanied by extra animation, and we were used to better game animation in those days, what with the Alpha series and in particular SF3. So we had these sprites that were higher def than SF3 but had way less frames of animation and that looked odd. Of course everybody is more used to the old sprites so the old sprites having few frames of animation doesn't look odd
Ugh wtf is it so slow. Better add normal ST speed back.
So does it seem slower? Or am I just trying to look for faults too hard?
Its very slow compared to Super Turbo
But I think that game was too fast for my likling. A speed level control, like SFII turbo had, would be the best
Good to see that I am not the only one to notice the speed. IF it is this slow the game is without the option to choose speeds then it is DOA for me.
Blazblue is HD and has few animation frames, though. GGXRD went one step further by making their 3D models animate with few frames like their old 2D counterparts and it's praised for it. (It does look fantastic)

Looking at the title of the game it is called Ultra Street Fighter 2 and not Ultra Street Fighter 2 Turbo so I guess that you could spin it that way.
Still a bad decision IMO.
I need some passive aggressive Blanka.Adding Evil Ryu and Violent Ken seems like a joke
Now THAT'S the game they should have ported.
what if this version is based off of SSF2.

It's based off of Super Turbo, kinda. It has a lot of new things that I noticed during the gameplay demonstration.
I wish somebody tried to use O.Sagat to confirm that Old characters are in. Ken, Hawk, and Sagat need it to be competitive.
Did this for some reason:
