Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

really fun game, powerplays kicking in every 2 mins are tedious though, and the 2x damage bs must be tweaked... apart from that I had a lot of fun with the AK + increased rate of fire, thanks GAF for the great games, certainly we took them a bit too seriously at one point with the random TKs but I think we ended winning every game (during our 5 hours session). Not bad.
 
Co-op seems like the easiest way to hit level 25. Shame a lot of times strangers will go and do their own thing and end up getting killed cause of it.

Also this goes for any unique, evil bugs as well. If anyone finds anything they think needs to be reported, you can just PM me with the issue. Please also include:

-the time of day
-version number
-mode being played
-any other relevant info (# of players, etc.)

Hardcore is where I stay because I don't like the Power Plays. I would love to get in some Co-Op matches though.

Scoreboard in the Co Op mode (End of the round)

Theres a misplaced 'cover waypoint' in the Air Strip map. (Is in a tunnel inside the main base, you press 'O' and the character take cover in the air :0)
 
More smoke bomb fun, got in a situation where I was gonna get killed no matter what, so I dropped a grenade at my feet, smoke bombed it out of there, and escaped death with 2 kills with the grenades. lol smoke bomb. Also had another bomb ready for kickback.

Smoke bomb seems to be the pussies' choice. Fucking daredevil for me!
 
Patch notes for yesterdays patch.

Relevant minor updates prior to 1.01
  • Temporarily removed Plunder gametype from matchmaking
  • Added in Free For All to replace Plunder
  • Temporarily disabled Facebook integration

Gameplay
  • Removed Yemen from map rotation in Free For All. Yemen will return during its regularly scheduled week.
  • Temporarily removed Cursed from Power Play rotation

Technical
  • Fixed issue where a crash would occur when backing out of multiplayer
  • Fixed frequent slowing of framerate that could lead to the Beta freezing
  • Fixed a crash involving Emblems

lol yup.

I don't know how to fix this Arne, but people don't understand the concept of go to big ass X and stand in the circle.

Maybe you could have the lady announcer say something like "dumbass, get to the yellow circle with a big ass X."
 
Meh, the cover/movement system in the game is nowhere near good enough for these cluttered maps and the plane bit.
It just keeps latching on to stuff you don't want to latch on to (like you try to roll backwards and the game latches on to the cover to your left instead).

Together with the latency etc this game has some serious fundamental problems.

Dedicated servers could honestly help solve a good degree of this games fundamental issues. Let's see if Naughty Dog is willing to rise to the challenge or if we'll get fed some PR bull shit about why they can't add them AKA we're lazy/just as money driven as the other guys.
 
Decided to pop in Uncharted 2 to see how it compares to U3.

Yeah - it's miles better. I remember how polished the beta was last year. I'm not really a fan of all these little changes tbh.

How I wish devs would stick to their guns and keep the core gameplay simple.

This is exactly why I must applaud Epic games for keeping the Gears formula intact. No extra perks or bullshit necessary. Everyone is on level ground in Gears of War 3. Everyone was on level ground in Uncharted 2. Now? It's not really the same.

I do like U3, but man, it's just a step back from U2.
 
glitch on chateu. when you have no ammo you cant pick up the bolt action sniper. at least thats what i think, both times ive had zero ammo it wouldnt let me pick it up :[
 
Played my first game of co-op, and I love all of the changes.

Your character's level is the same for co-op and competitive, correct? I'll probably just stick with co-op for a bit if that's the case.

After watching a few gameplay videos...I see why the game seems kind of empty. There's no VO to spice up everything that's going on. It sounds so empty without all the "INCOMIIIINNNG!" and other chatter. Surprised nobody pointed this out yet.

My Sully has been making some noises. Especially when I am on the brink of falling over a ledge.

Same. I loved U2 because it was such a pure, mostly undiluted experience - its simplicity was a big part of its appeal. Just a standard load-out, a couple of perks and a run to the power weapons that created some really good standoffs. knowing who was packing what added to the intensity. Nobody spawned a tactical nuke in their back pocket halfway through the match.

Of course, it wasn't perfect and I didn't want the same game repackaged, but this feels like a bit of a sidestep to me; like throwing everything and the kitchen sink into the game. It feels a bit too much like every other military shooter of the day. It really reminds me of Black Ops.

It's still a great game thanks to the core mechanics, and I am enjoying it - the Buddy System is inspired. Very glad there is a Hardcore mode, though.

And, yes Epic Games deserve an internet cookie for sticking to their guns

People really don't customize their Hero model, apparently. All too often I'm Victor motherfuckin' Sullivan leading an army of red-shirted Drake clones into battle.

You need treasures to do so, I've picked up tons but only have 2 sets so two items so far.

Version 1.01

Got knocked out of a co-op game on chateau, had unknown string across the top with a 3 second countdown in the middle. Landed on matchmaking screen with a kicked for killing teammates message (no tks going on).

Have seen kicked for killing teammates on a few occasions after dcing from a match (again with no tks happening, much less any actions occurring

Also some issues with floating character/trouble reaching the ground when multiple players are in a melee on uneven terrain, involved multiple Sullys (too much good looks in one spot?). Sorted itself after a few seconds.
 
Does it still crash or reset your system after you quit the game?

I only quit 3 times but everytime it crashed on quit.
