Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

fucking rocket launcher enemies are so cheap
i loved the 'horde' mode in UC 2 but this is ridiculous

as for the competitive mp, not feeling it at all
headshots feel too weak, powerplay is basically free kills for noobs and all that
ugh

No helmet should be instant death.

btw,Im only talking co-op, I don't play multiplayer in Uncharted.

OOOoooohhhh.... yeah, headshot in co-op should be insta-death. Don't know why they changed that.

I'm glad to see me PSN username still provides laughs for the GAF crew :/

My controller is broken so while adjusting to the new mechanics, it kind of was distracting not being able to free-aim.

Co-op is fun but seems difficulty is ramped up from UC2 or maybe I'm just not use to it.

What level does this and the Uzi unlock?

I've had a fair bit of fun with the game, but it does a poor job with showing you the future unlocks, and when you get them for the most part.

Unless I'm just not looking in the right place.
I believe the M9 unlocks at 17? Someone correct me

Hmm, co-op, maybe. I don't really mind where it is now but if they change it I would be ok with it. Didn't headshots count as a instant kill in U2 for co-op?

You guys think the big tall dudes in all the black armor with the super Terminator 2 zambini guns will be in UC3?

I hope they have some kind of boss like them if not go a step further just for more variation in enemies. Not sure what they could do to top them though..ha

Jesus. People already 25.

I mad.

It's not that hard. After 25 though is when the gap between levels starts to widen. Before that, it was only a couple matches to level up, tops.

Just had a match on Chateau where I was running across that burning floor just as it started to collapse and managed to shoot a guy before jumping and grabbing a ledge to stop myself from falling down a floor. Don't think I would have died, but still it was pretty awesome.

Completely counters a previous match on Airstrip where I happened to be standing in that room on the roof as it randomly blew up.

Yeah, you would have died. You end up dying if you are below that floor when it falls too.

I apologise if this has been answered, but is party functionality disabled? I've got invites from a friend but clicking on the invites does nothing right now.

lol fun games with pwon, highluxury and interweb celebrity cheska

I dunno, I've had the whole thing fall on me and I survived. Maybe I have a magic body just like I have magic bullets and magic grenades like Somnium says... :P

I refuse to believe that the people asking for the health to be lower aren't being serious.

If you are, then this game is not for you. Move on and don't ruin it for the rest of us. You already did it for Uncharted 2 and I'll be damned if I l let that happen twice because of awful suggestions like yours.
Maybe we are playing two separate betas beause the amount of health my enemies have is fucking ridiculous.

Parties work, but the whole invite system is kind of fucked at the moment. They really need to switch back to the Uncharted 2 menu system when it comes to parties and the friends list. The stuff they are using now is not that useful in the least. I want to look at the list and know exactly what they are playing and who they are playing with without having to click on their name. I should only click to send an invite or join the party.

It's that Argentinian lag, bro. Of course, everybody is lagging according to Som. :P

(Is your FL full? I still need to add you one of these days.)

I've been too busy to play these last couple of days, but that should hopefully change next week. Can't wait to try out Hunters mode.

Siege is the only difficult mode in coop, and it gets very hard sometimes. A part of me thinks it's the areas where you have to stand which have been chosen. Although, airstrip isn't that difficult, I only have trouble on Chateau.

Phew!!... that took a while. Finally Cloaked level 3! You guys have no idea how demanding that was to obtain... like 15 assassin medals in total.

Cloaked (gold/maxed) & back-on-the-saddle (gold/maxed) now + loadout

This may have been asked, but is there any way to "win" a co-op round, or does it just keep going until the time runs out?
Yes,but I never took notice to exactly what the amount is,something like 4-5 waves each.My fastest time though was in 17:52.

Oh hey, it's my name on there too haha. Good games guys!

Do we numbers for the beta? It will be interesting to see how many people are really interested in this game/franchise now that virtually any PS3 user can get into the beta

Headshots need to be 1 hit kills on all non-helmeted enemies in Co-op. We also need to be able to steelfist the chokers like we can in U2, as there are times when you just get separated and steelfisting is the best option; we also need to be able to pull them off as well.

Also for Co-op, completing it on Normal gives you ~30k, which is fine if you're below level 30 but not enough for anything higher. Co-op needs to be balanced so that a player can reach max level in a reasonable amount of time by only playing it and never competitive.

I propose that when playing Co-op on Hard, all money earned is doubled; and when playing on Crushing, quadrupled -- or at least make a medal for completing Crushing Co-op that's worth 150k.

Also, what does current rating: bronze mean? Its in that rolling stats bar.
I'm guessing it's for prestige (Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.) or some kind of weekly rating -- which I hope to high-hell is not the case.

Oh, yeah -- another thing about Co-op: in the Chateau, on the top floor Siege location, you can also climb through the wall that burns away.

The matchmaking seems much better today, but it also has a much increased habit of putting me in games that are already running.

EDIT: thanks Ryan!

Or maybe you're just not aiming that good. The health is perfect. You can take down anyone if you're constantly aiming at them.

Yes it is. This game makes sure that you better be committed to the kill in order to use it.

It's feel so awkward and forced stopping dead just to throw a punch, I think they could have handled it in a more natural way, if someone is shooting you when you try to run it slows you down already right? I don't mind that you have to be real close to do the instant kills melee from behind. but a more natural system like losing controls and continuing in the direction you were running (if you were moving in the first place) when you threw the punch until the attack is finished might feel less forced.

Had a better night playing than last night, when I lost every match I played. Naughty Dog's brilliant matchmaking system of pairing everyone ranked 20 and beyond versus me and a bunch of scrubs who just downloaded the beta. Nice to know they brought some aspects of U2 over to the sequel.

So what happened to this game overnight? Maybe I'm the only one experiencing this, but damn every game I played tonight was an unbelievable amount of grenade spam and death from behind. My take on it is the back in the saddle perk, at this point everyone has it maxed, so when you're fighting one there are actually 2, or if it's 2 there are 4. Even if you kill one, they come back so fast and just pop up right behind you or right behind their buddy. This causes the grenade spam since every respawn you get a new grenade. It's ridiculous I think that particular needs to be toned down for sure, either that or work on the recognition of "in battle" where you can spawn on a buddy. Otherwise this game will be a complete pass for me, feels entirely too much like COD.

Yes of course. I'm "Just not good".

Except for when an enemy has his back turned and I unload an entire clip into his back and while I'm reloading he turns around and kills me instantly. What am I doing wrong in that scenario? Should I "will" my bullets to do more damage?

Possibly lag, but I can never be too sure about people when it comes to their aiming skills. This scene from back in the Uncharted 2 1.04 days will always be stuck in my mind:

I was in the middle of a match and ending up dying, so I went to go get a drink from my kitchen. My mic was still in my ear at the time. Anyway, as I was pulling a can of root beer out of the fridge, I start hearing this exasperated mumbling. It was obviously not someone on my team because I was in a party and would have recognized the voice. Well, the voice kept getting more and more frustrated. When I finally came back to the game, I saw an enemy firing clip after clip into the wall on my left and screaming, "THIS GUY IS A FUCKING BULLET SPONGE! I PUT AT LEAST THREE CLIPS INTO THE GUY!" or something similar. I was literally amazed at the scene. People like him are why 1.05 came around and ruined the gameplay. :/

I never understood this! It has never taken me an entire clip to kill someone. That argument might be valid if everyone had this issue but they don't. So it boils down to this question, why is it taking you an entire clip and yet others have no problem?

How many actual hit markers are you getting? Are you using the AK or the God-MAL?
