Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

whats wrong with that. Thats the fun part.

A one room meat grinder map is not fun IMO, more so over the long run. It's like they wasted time building this map when they've could've just had everyone spawn 10 feet from 1 room and called it a day. What's fun is when you look back at a match and think "Wow, how the hell did the skirmish end up THERE?" That will never happen if every match on Chateau is over the zipline room.

The character movement in this game feels so janky. That's my biggest issue with it.
For some reason I never thought UC2 MP animated as well as SP. Couldn't ever understand why, or what was the difference, but the felling of that was unmistakable.

They need to have 5+ treasure chests on each level instead of the same two randomly opening up again and again, that is half the reason people camp the zipline room., easy access to both.

Regardless it is easy to counter camping their if you attack from the stairs on the non starting side of the map.

Also the matchmaking is still completely shit for me in Australia. Keeps matching me up with people from other coutries resulting in terrible lag. Did not have this problem in uncharted 2.

Also airplane is really glitched, the spawns are messed up and jumping between trucks often fails because your character refuses to grab on.

Seriously, where do people picked up the grenade launcher at chateau? I know where the Mag-5,Pistole and RPG located at but not the grenade launcher.

Edit: They should fixed the melee damage when it comes to double damage power play. It's so bloody broken and doesn't give you a chance to counter it when upclose.

In the fountain with the statue in the base opposite of the RPG.

Free for All feels so strange to Uncharted Multiplayer. Though, I hate relying on Kill Steals, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hearing that "assist" noise in FFA is so frustrating, but yes, you take what you can get in that mode.

i think i found my favourite game mode, ffa.

i only started doing it to finish off 10 games for the decals and its pretty awesome.

i won 9/10 i played and earned about $15,000-$20,000 each game.

2.0-3.0 k/d each game, except the one i lost, which i really lost by going negative

also managed to get a lot more treasure than in other modes

Played a lot more during the weekend. Lv 25 and still going strong.

I really hope health is to be left the way it is now. It's amazing to be attacked from the back and still have enough time to pull oneself together, recompose and counterattack effectively.

I wonder why every single time I play Airstrip I get to be the villains. I can still count the exceedingly rare times I have started as a hero.

Chateau map:

-RPG: Near the edge of the map behind some boxes. If you ever played gold rush in co-op, the gold spawns very close to where the rpg is. It is near where the zipline ends. That general area. Look for some boxes.

-Grenade Launcher: Opposite side of the map from where the RPG is. Look for where the car is. There is a fountain close to it. The GL will be leaning against the base of the fountain.

-T-Bolt Sniper: ???? Second floor somewhere.

-Pistole: ???? Ground floor where that statue is and leads up to the stairs. I think so anyways.

-Mag-5 (the new deagle): On the second floor, in the room that collapses. When it does collapse, it is close to the wall, on the beam.

-Spas: Not sure it's on this map.

-Sawed-off shotgun: Not sure it's on this map

I think I may be missing some more stuff, but not 100% sure. Some more detailed info would be great.

Airstrip map:

-RPG: ????

-Grenade Launcher: On the catwalks in the middle where the catwalk goes in 4 directions

-T-Bolt: ???? Not sure it's on this map

-Pistole: ???? No fucking idea

-Mag-5: ???? No fucking idea

-Spas: In the room that is directly under the shelter that is on the roof. The shelter has two holes that you can drop down into the bottom room. It is in that room, with the shelves.

-Sawed-off shotgun: ???? No idea

-Riot Shield: Inside a shipping container near the airplane hanger. The container is right next to a jeep. A lot of action usually happens around here.

Yeah, lots of stuff incomplete. Hope you guys can help me fill in the rest.

-Pistole: ???? No fucking idea

A few of those don't seem to spawn in certain modes like co-op and FFA, I think there's a bug causing the weapons to not spawn in Airstrip in Hardcore.

Couple questions:

1) Does Yemen ever show up in TDM?
2) Is it just me or are the M9 and Pistole Auto ridiculously overpowered?
3) Weren't there more power weapons in Uncharted 2? I feel like I am always using my default weapon in this and the sniper rifles are kinda useless because you have to scope now.
- EDIT: checking out weapon list and I guess they are still enough, haven't found them/memorized locations yet.

Yeah, co-op is way different. I dont know anything about hardcore.

Alright, I was wondering where that t-bolt was. Same with the RPG.

Thanks.

I have never played on the Yemen map and I'm level 32 now. M9 and Pistole are okay, but I hate the Micro Uzi with two mods, very annoying. For Snipers, I just pick up the T-Bolt whenever I see it.

Not yet but it will do in a week or so when it replaces Chateau. There are vids on Youtube of the Yemen map as it was available in FFA for a short while but then quickly removed.

Killing people with a rocket in mid-air is the best.

1) Not yet, it will show during the final days of the beta.
2) The Pistol Auto/Micro is by far the most unbalanced weapon in the game. I haven't bothered with the M9, why would I cuz I have my UBERUZI.
3)Yeah it's the same amount of power weapons as far as I can tell. You have one RPG spawn and one Grenade Launcher spawn in each weapon. And a few other weapons sprinkled in there.

You know, this is a decent mp component that is constantly fucking ruined by lag. When i have no lag this is brilliant and I want to play it again, however, that's literally 1 in 10 matches, the other 9 being complete fucking dogshit.

/kiddy rage, time to give up the gaming.

I haven't experienced much lag at all....

That is a BIG reason why I turn to bots when available.

A few more comments

- G-mal with accuracy actually makes a huge difference, I didn't think it needed the accuracy boost, but it's definitely more imporant than the clip size.

- I still think back in the saddle is a problem at the moment, you can very quickly go from fighting 2 guys to 4 guys. The "in combat" thing is so inconsistent.

- The amount of power weapons is ridiculous. I really don't understand why, maybe they spawn too fast? Maybe people are just blitzin them. I do know the kickbackbrings RPG into the equation, which allows for the potential of 6 RPGs on the map at once... (Know this wouldn't happen) however there's a good chace there will be multiple at a time. I don't really know how they can balance this, it just seems like a bad idea.

- The smoke bomb is pretty lousy. I really liked it at first, and I didn't even mind that it sometimes doesn't even move you, because you're playing the odds anyway. Last night playing I used multiple smoke bombs in a row, only for it to drop me in the same spot... what's that about? How exactly do these work? Not only that, but it really exposes a significant amount of lag in the game... I'll smoke out of there, start walking and then die. This is similar to getting behind a corner and still somehow dying, only it's a lot more blatant.

I have two questions:

1.- What the fuck is that reticule effect on my screen that takes away all my HUD? Is it someone aiming at me with Call Out?

2.- for U2 vets: have you been able to smash someone's head on a ledge when you melee a guy while he's hanging on a piece of cover? I'm not sure if that's in the beta.

wat. bots are not fun at all.

YES! I've done this a lot it catches people off guard everytime I love it!

I think that's the Disruption kickback from a enemy player setting in.

Is there a group on here that plays Uncharted online and co-op regularly? Or a general bunch of GAF members that play together often? I'd like to join up with everyone on here, as my friends list is looking a little bare.

PSN ID: SlLENTCAPYBARA (second letter is a lowercase 'L")

Co op mode is much easier than deathmatch. It´s my first time playing co op and it was a great game.
Really? I find it hard to win co-op modes. Survival go on for way too long and you lose precious minutes waiting/looking for that one dude hiding somewhere at the end. Or new players who don't know that they have to stay in the zone during Siege ruin it for the rest of us.

I wonder, when people say that there's a bug on hardcore about power weapons... I wonder why power weapons should be there on hardcore. Isn't that using "random" elements directly proportional to your spawn area?

No, because effective map control prevents people from getting power weapons, or allows you to get them yourself. If they were randomly placed on the map, sure, but if you know where the RPG spawn on chateau and kill a guy in a fight for it, you get it. Unlike getting x medals and spawning an RPG out of your ass.

This has happened to me so many times. Wish naughty would take a note form Killing Floor, and have the last enemy just die on it's own after a while. A counter on how many enemies you have left in survival would be nice too.

Smokebomb is by far my favourite kickback. Cheap, evades death in 90% of cases and allows you to keep linking kills up and earn highly rewarding streak medals.

My PSN username is thuway2, I'm officially Level 17 and am starting to get either 1st or 2nd place in most of my matches.

These are my revised opinions:

* ND needs to make the game feel less clunky.

- The speed of the game has to increase. People have gotten used to the slowed down pace, but quite honestly, most people will be turned off by it. Increasing the speed a bit while keeping the sprint button can be a viable option.

- Figure a way to map the sprint button to a button other than R3. Clicking R3 after 15 minutes makes my thumbs feel miserable.

- Maybe I'm spoiled by Infamous, but the idea that 2 out of 5 times I don't grab what I want or I'm stuck hitting X and my character won't hop to a certain ledge is infuriating.

* Polish up the visuals!!

- The awkward avatar standing around before the match looks hideous. Strange aliasing, lack of detail, and this stupid expression on his face. I understand its a multiplayer character model, but no one is going to cry wolf if you add in a little bit of magic to make it look nicer than it does in-game.

- The beginning animations where the Villains set shit on fire is stupid and ugly. Why even bother.

- Step your game up with the airstrip. Its just one bland looking map. The blown up building up top doesn't wow anyone.

* Team deathmatch needs variety!

- The Uncharted 2 beta had rockets only, snipers only, and a host of other cool spin off modes. Why is the only game in circulation straight up deathmatch? Come on ND- its going to get stale fast.

This might sound very negative in tone, but I genuinely love the game and ND. I only want this game to sell a billion trillion copies and have been involved with every thread since the game's initial reveal. You brought us Uncharted 2, the day I first laid eyes on the Nepal warzone, I will never forget. I look forward to that sort of disbelief. <3 Thuway

I agree. That, and I've only had limited success with the cluster bomb kickback. Aside from once killing two enemies at the last second to put the game into overtime (and then have us lose anyway) I'm more successful with killing teammates with it.

I'm simply not liking this game because of the aiming. Turning up my sensitivity also didn't help make it any less slow and clunky. Fix that and i'll be back to playing it.

YES YES YES. Thats why I keep saying speed up the game. The wierd jankiness throws people off.
