Probably just a few items for character customization.Epcotman said:What actually is a Decal Pack?
I already opened a thread to give some feedback in the first few days of the beta, but after a lot more playtime in the different modes, and after all the tweaks and updates we had, I guess revising my impressions would be a wise idea. So here they are.
1. Most of my qualms were fixed, and I got used to many elements (speed, aiming, sprinting, etc.) that seemed off at first. Bravo, ND!
2. Power plays, health and weapon damage seem very well balanced now. Perhaps the G-MAL is still a little bit too powerful, but whatever. Good job here.
3. The shotgun feels really underused. Every map should have at least one SAS spawn point, if not two in larger maps.
4. I love the Yemen map, especially because of its verticality, but it's quite big and 2 vs. 2 vs. 2 matches tend to concentrate all the activity around the towers, leaving the rest of the map noticeably underused.
5. I mantain that the plane boarding part of Airstrip starts off with the villains in a position of disadvantage. Perhaps if both heroes and villains started off from trucks on different sides of the plane, or if the trucks behind had some taller cover pieces not to leave the villains too exposed at first, things would be a little bit more balanced.
6. Something should be done for the randoms unable (or unwilling) to play objective-based games correctly. Besides making objective medals more valuable and de-emphasizing the KDR, perhaps communicating better the rules of each objective mode would help. Be it through the announcer (providing she doesn't get too annoying, her constant suggestions to use cluster grenade kickbacks when there's no one around are already a bit too much...), through voice-acted dialogue between the characters ("Come in here, we'll score faster" in KotH or "Go get the idol" in Plunder), or tips and tricks before respawns.
7. Free for All and Three Team DM matches feel too short. The score required to win the game could be raised a bit in both modes, especially the first.
8. Not being able to exit matchmaking at any time is annoying, especially when the matchmaking screws up and someone in your party is cut out of the game (see later).
9. The invites are slightly more visible now, but still inferior to the PSN-based ones from UC2.
10. Being able to see who's in your friends' party, and being able to join them in ongoing matches (if there's any room for a new player) would be extremely appreciated.
11. I really hope we won't see the Cursed power play ever again.
12. After thinking more about it, not being able to stack kickback medals is okay. The other solutions to prevent kickback spamming (like raising the medal requirements) would be even worse.
Also, a few glitches/issues:
1. Sometimes the matchmaking brings up one player too much, and one player in the party gets cut out of the game. You can still communicate via headset before the match begins, but he'll stay stuck in matchmaking forever (while everyone else starts playing instead).
2. Long PSN usernames are visualized incorrectly in the player lists.
3. Today, in a Plunder match, the idol was thrown up here, and stayed there the whole match instead of respawning: http://i.imgur.com/hDxet.jpg
4. Sometimes, when jumping off the ledge next to the turret closest to the Heroes' spawn point in Chateau, the camera gets behind some geometry and the whole screen goes grey for a few seconds.
Can't think of anything else right now, hope this helps.

Bad Jocchan. Bad bad. Cursed is awesome. It was a PP that didn't actually benefit the winning team like the other PPs outside of Double Damage (which is awful) do. In fact, I'd like to see more Power Plays like Cursed that require teamwork from the winning team to overcome. Add in a PP that calls in a band of Yetis that attack both the winning team and the losing team to a lesser degree. Call in a helicopter that can only be taken down with a stinger missile that appears on the map at the same.Jocchan said:12. I really hope we won't see the Cursed power play ever again.
That's why I suggested to raise the medal requirements for both Smoke Bombs and Speedy GMikey Jr. said:Good list man.
One thing I don't agree with it medal stacking.
I think the game plays better without people being able to stack 6 speedy g or smoke bombs. God it is annoying for people to have speedy g on the entire time, I can't imagine someone being able to stack them. Fuck that.
Someone had the good idea that the bargain booster on gold should offer you stacking ability. That one would be fine for me.
Sorry man, but I really don't like it. I'm not a fan of Double Damage either, but at least that one doesn't introduce a strong element of confusion to the gameplay (which is something I'll never be a fan of).Irish said:Bad Jocchan. I want the powerplays to result in fun objectives to complete for the winning team. As they are now, all they do is bring in easier kills to the winning team. Marked Man and Exposed brings in all the little peasants to the skillful players so they can be swatted down like flies.

You can still limit them without forcing everyone to use the kickbacks as soon as possible because they're aware they'll be wasting medals every second they hold out.
Very good point. I'll revise that.Mikey Jr. said:Yeah, but having speedy and smoke at 7 rather than 10 medals make them an attractive option. If they were 10, for an extra 4 medals, you get an RPG. For the same amount, you get a cluster bomb.
One of the main draws of speedy g is that it does have such a low medal requirement.
To do that, they'd need 100 medalsLowEndTorque said:Yeah, I'm not sure it's a good idea for the medals/kickbacks to stack.
Imagine someone stacking like 10 clusterbombs in a match then just spamming them all at once.

LowEndTorque said:Well yeah the 10 clusterbombs thing was just an exaggeration = p
But the point is, imagine a very close/competitive game that comes down to the wire with only a 2 - 4 kill difference between each team. Then some dude who has 3 or 4 clusterbombs up his sleeve just unleashes them at the end and wins a cheap victory. If you were on the losing side of that Im sure youd be saying cheap! or thats bullshit!

Agreed. It's unresponsive that it pisses me off sometimes.left_senseless said:at level 33, all I really want from ND is: improved traversal- sometimes I jump for a truck within reach and my character will put a leg on the side of the truck and push off as if he was hitting a wall instead of latching onto it or just completing the jump as he should, not to mention some of the short walls that the character refuses to climb up on like the ledge leading to the stairs on the rocket launcher spawn side of chateau in tdm
I think it would be awesome if they made an objective to take down two/three helicopters in Team Objective. Like, both of the teams would be battling out trying to see who can take it down. Something like that would be amazing and fun.R_thanatos said:Oh what do you mean ? Do you means as ennemies or as helpers ?
As ennemies , i don't see the appeal since ( for example ) we already have these planes firing at me in airstrip.
As helpers i really don't thank this is a good idea
That's the first thing I thought after Mikey's post, honestly, but it wouldn't be a better solution. It would basically work exactly like the current situation, except you'd be always "wasting" a set number of medals, and it would increase greatly the number of variables that need balancing (leading to absolute mess).Papercuts said:They could just do a twist on medal stacking to make it not so powerful, like increasing the cost per use. The smoke kickback was pretty crazy as it was, but if at first it's 7, then 11, then 15, etc. it's still stackable but not as abusable. As-is the smoke one is especially worthless, as it's very situational and also completely random. Saving up 7 medals for a chance to poof three inches to the left vs. 7 to get a big speed boost for 20 seconds, or getting a few more to get a cluster grenade really isn't worth it.
Agreed.Rewrite said:I also think the yellow "X" in Siege should go away too. Replace it with text that says, "come here" or something because randoms just don't get it even when it tells them what to do the second Siege starts. lol
Saving up your kickback till the right moment is neither cheap nor bullshit, because you haven't been using it earlier and you deserve to reap the benefits for that.LowEndTorque said:But the point is, imagine a very close/competitive game that comes down to the wire with only a 2 - 4 kill difference between each team. That could lead to some people staying hidden till that time lapse has passed, which would still decrease the spam but would also increase the number of campers.LowEndTorque said:Maybe a good solution would be to allow kickbacks to stack, but you would have to wait 20 or 30 seconds in between using them.
Thankfully this can't happen because you have to earn the medals.left_senseless said:I'm in the camp who believes stacking medals is retarded. it works well now. you don't have to worry about an almost unlimited spam of cluster grenades and rockets overwhelming the match.

Jocchan said:Thankfully this can't happen because you have to earn the medals.
You need 14 medals for an RPG, and getting more than 28 (necessary for two kickback activations) in a single match is no easy task, even with the triple medals lying around in chests. If you're getting more than 28, you're good enough for the RPG kickback not to make a real difference, to be honest.left_senseless said:earning medals is easy plus they hand out three at a time in chests. combine the two and it feels the same. I'm all about power weapons, believe me. I'll grab the launcher from the log, fire both rounds, activate my kickback, and do it again. that is enough power for any one person to yield at a time. stacking is unnecessary. you use your kickback strategically and then build up for the next. maybe ND could convert medals to extra cash when they aren't being applied to kickbacks so people don't feel as cheated...
Same here. Sucks quit a bit....Jocchan said:Weird. After connecting, the game is trying to load the online user agreement for some reason, except it's perma-stuck in a loading animation and I can't play :/

Everything was erased, not just progress of rounds. I turned on the console and started back from level 1 as if it was my first time playing (I also had to accept the EULA again). Hopefully they have a backup of my data for the full game rewards. I was only missing the two decal ones, and I was planning to finish the requirements for competitive tonight (and perhaps co-op tomorrow if possible) :/Amir0x said:Wait people are losing progress of rounds?

Turned back on the PS3 after reading this (I missed the edit earlier), and nope. Still level 8 (got to level 8 after playing a few disgruntled matchesShin Johnpv said:*edit* and its all back.
