The naughty gods!? Im actually surprised!!
I don't think they can just get rid of graphical effects here and there that easily. A lot of that stuff is tied to the code and would cause more problems if removed than if they just lower the resolution. It's not as simple as people seem to think.
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/uncharted-4-multiplayer-to-include-microtransactio/1100-6431779/Later, Cogburn explained that the multiplayer mode will render at 60 frames-per-second, although at 900p, due to the studio's belief that the smoothest possible experience is crucial in multiplayer. By contrast, Uncharted 4's campaign mode will display at 1080p30.
They do baby steps.
First reveal was a real time in a ps4 scene at 1080p60 with this graphics
Because he's comparing what they said they had running at 60fps and what they have now running at 60fps?Why are you comparing SP cut scene to MP .
SP drake looks time better than the MP one .

Just lower the single player resolution to 900p so we can get it running at 60 fps. Come on!

Because the reveal runs at 60 fps but current sp not.
Framerate isn't king for Uncharted singe player. An Uncharted campaign that wasn't a graphical powerhouse wouldn't be the same, so 30fps is the right choice.
What's the point of next-gen console then? They need to sell console and best way is "look how awesome our games look!!!".
1080p, 30FPS.
Because the reveal runs at 60 fps but current sp not.
That's a stupid comparison tbh. The game has been downgraded for sure in terms of framerate. But comparing an in-engine face model with a multiplayer model?
Framerate is king everywhere.
What? The original reveal was captured on a PS4 system, and wasn't an in-engine muscle flex like the Star Wars Battlefront in-engine initial reveal.
It's time for dynamic resolution to become a general thing.

Fuck no.
Halo 5 looks like shit with that and its shitty LOD.
I'd rather a game running with set assets and consistently with a slightly lower resolution that the shit Halo 5 pulled off.
It's so bad you're forced to set your mind into a "well gameplay only matters" logic. And with that logic you might as well just design a decent, not ground breaking looking game to match your target. Instead of making it ground breaking and then scale it down to shame.
LOD loading in front of you is way worse than resolution being lower in terms of overall IQ. Unless you want to touch yourself on screenshots.

No gameplay is king and 60fps can effect gameplay not always in good ways .
If 60 fps mean less physics , scale , enemies etc etc in my set pieces i don't want that .

Fun Fact: Some people prefer 30 FPS with the fixings.![]()
Sub-30fps/900p could be the norm in a few years.
It isn't news that some people like inferior things.
Isnt TLoU multiplayer pay to win shit
That's not how it works though. Assets can be scaled downward. Like they have in this game. Multiplayer is always going to require more grunt as well. There is a reason why this and battlefield etc etc have had to scale down their resolution targets to meet their framerate requirements on these not so groundbreaking machines.

It's interesting to see people surprised that it's 900p/60fps. They will probably have to make additional cutbacks too since 900p/60fps is more pixels per second than 1080p/30fps.
ND's MP has always had fairly significant cutbacks anyway. I'm glad those will be going towards 60 now instead of just looking worse at 30fps.Pretty easy to see that if you watch the video. But it is multiplayer, so it is not exactly surprising.
"captured on a PS4" does not mean real time. The fact that they do not make that extremely necessary step to say "real time" is something that should cause eye brows to raise always IMO.

Would probably have to be other cut backs, btw love your vids
Except TLOU one, not cool man
