Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection | Review Thread

This is from Uncharted 1 (dithered shadow edges on Nate's back): http://images.eurogamer.net/2013/ar.../5/PS4_010.bmp.jpg/EG11/quality/90/format/jpg

It sticks out like a sore thumb in photo mode.

Since the original also used some sort of shadow dithering, then a proper comparison would be with Uncharted 2, which didn't use any dithering at all.

I don't think that they would add a 30fps toggle (probably too late for that), although I would still prefer 60fps, just like I did with TLOUR.

ps: I assumed that Bluepoint would use TLOUR's code as a base to start porting the Uncharted games (it's not realistic to write code from scratch), but apparently some code sections seem to be different.
I think you have some hotlinking issue, but I'll check the site when I get home tomorrow. I've played the UC2 demo and what you speak of was not apparent to me, but I'll be sure to look for it when I play again.

I think you should wait on the day one patch to see what was improved/resolved.........

For me personally, it still would have been a 9/10 if the multiplayer was included. I was looking at it more from the perspective of 'Does the absence of multiplayer devalue the package to such a degree that I should drop a point?' In my opinion, I don't think it does.
Sounds about right/fair.....I'm not even sure the persons clamoring for mp would be playing it beyond the first week, maybe even beyond the first day of release, but I believe that adding MP for UC2/3 for PS4 was a financial undertaking that was not necessary since UC4 beta is going to be live soon and they needed staff/servers/money to maintain that and the game when it launches early next year. I think trying to juggle UC2/3 PS3, UC2/3 PS4, UC4 mp beta and focusing on UC4 development is a bit much just for the sake of it.

Thanks for your input.....

Just got this email from Sony

Five skins included, not seven as was advertised

Our sincerest apologies Fortune Hunters, the pre-order content advertised on PlayStation®Store was incorrect when you pre-ordered Uncharted™: The Nathan Drake Collection.

There are five single-player skins for Drake included, not seven as was advertised.

We hope this won’t change your mind to play through all of Drake’s epic adventures, though if you do want to cancel your pre-order as a result, simply follow the steps below.

Thanks for understanding.

Oh well, I can't wait to replay the epic collection!

Literally unplayable without those extra skins, cancelled!

Man, I played the demo. Game looks so good. But I hated that incredible aim assist during the chopper fight. So bad.

I still want this exclusively for the beta, sucks that there isn't a code and that it's on the actual disc. I am so desperate for UC MP.

There's a chance. My Bloodborne copy from Simply Games was from UAE. Probably why they give zero fucks about release dates and send them 10 days early too.
I still don't understand why UAE gets a special treatment from Sony. They never honour street dates.

Yeah, I'm jelly. Fuck street dates.

Your definition if irony is pretty off base, see the above post.

Funny how you missed the irony in your post.

According to you 1080p/60fps comes with the territory for a remastered/remake game

But for another remastered game that you favored, 30fps is fine & your "1080p/60fps comes with the territory" point gets thrown out of the window.

When does preload start?

2 days prior to release, so Wednesday.

I wonder if Best Buy, and other retailers, will just put this out tomorrow, with the rest of the week's releases... I guess it depends how strict Sony is being with this one.

best buy pls. they seem like the worst with breaking street dates. at least for me.

Just downloaded update 1.01 - 1.029 GB in size.

Looking at the change log, its pretty hefty and is mostly geared towards performance, stability and visual improvements

I can't wait to play UC2 and UC3, but I'm gonna do this right and play them from the beginning starting with Drake's Fortune. Besides the first one is probably were you see most the difference.

Boo bitch! The game comes out on Friday and I just found out my MRI scan is on Saturday, what timing! It's fine though, I need that scan, being in constant pain sucks worse than missing a few hours with Drake.

I wish there was some way to download the patch as a physical buyer, but I guess it's only 1GB which is fine. Do you have the full change log? A photo would do.

Makes me happy I didn't get the game early now, definitely prefer to play with that patch applied.

This is what I intend on doing. It's not that I don't like the game or anything, but I'm definitely least interested in playing DF out of the three. However, I want to play them in order and do it properly.

EDIT - is this game out today in the US? Do we have an OT?

I hope Digital Foundry does a performance comparison in the few areas that had dips with the patch applied.

I think US only 9th Friday, but in Europe today or tomorrow, seems to differ.

I never played the Uncharted games. Can't wait to dive in!

You are in for a treat then. One thing, while U1 is decent and hopefully you will still enjoy it, just remember it's the oldest game in the series, so don't judge the whole series based on your experience with the 1st game, because 2 and 3 are vastly superior in everyway.

I've seen some of the setpieces (they're fucking awesome!) while watching a few videos years ago, but never really played these games. Cant wait for my copy tomorrow

Are Amazon UK usually on the day or is there a chance we might get it early?
