Does anyone have any examples of pre-order content that has never been made available to the rest of the people who buy the game without a pre-order.
I mean, Forza 3 has a pre-order car pack, can I never get those cars now because I didn't pre-order the game? Even if I was willing to pay for them?
To me, this isn't a big deal, although a little unfair to specifically inflict this upon United States gamers. 30 days isn't that long, if one friend has it, you can tag along with no problems and it will be a level playing field for everyone after that month.
I much prefer this to say, a gun or armour that actually changes gameplay balance, or an exclusive map that not everyone can play on, or some of the other crap we've seen given away as pre-order bonuses. This is just a little nudge to get people who were on the fence about buying it day 1, to put their money down. If they don't, well it's hardly a huge problem.
We know what this is, we know the restrictions and we know when people who are willing to wait will get access to the content. I'm happy with that.
Also, the whole friends can tag along thing is a feature more games need to utilise. Crackdown did this, one person buys the DLC and the other player can access all the content when playing online. I really like that system. It would encourage me to buy more DLC if my friend and I could share it. (have free sample versions of DLC for other people to download that has the rest of the content locked, like Forza car packs)
