Usage Based Billing approved, Canadian govt shoots it down, more developments to come

Any of you guys ever play Phoenix Wright? This feels like the real life version of where von Karma starts falling apart.

Peter Braid is making some good points.

Decisions need to be made forward looking.

The only trend konrad spotted was that customers were using bandwidth and the big isp does not want them to.

Masse is back on!

This man is incredible. He's asking all the right questions and not giving von Karma a chance to obfuscate the issues. I hope you all vote NDP from now on.

Holy shit, he's just on fire.

This is a short term problem. The long term problem is infrastructure, which Bell and Rogers refuse to invest in. Almost certainly they'll try to get the govt to pay for upgrades while they continue to charge through the nose for use of the lines.

CRTC chair: "The principle for me is clear: the ordinary guy should not subsidize the heavy user." #cdnpoli

Some journalist from PostMedia.

Andrew Coyne from Macleans/CBC totally agrees.

Aware of that. But bandwidth is scarce: my point. Ideal is peak load pricing. But UBB is decent approx'n; better than flat rate.

The Conservs have been brining good questions too now. First Waterloo now this guy.

The complete silence from the CRTC on some questions is hilarious.

This is getting bad.. they have no answers, especially for where there numbers come from. Huge telecoms feed them numbers, and they eat it. Great
