VaatiVidya has a new Bloodborne Lore video up

Well, yeah. That's my point. Eventually it caught up with Laurence and he turned into a beast himself. He presumably wound up in the Labyrinth because he was trying to undo what he had done.

That wouldn't explain why his corpse would be near Queen Yharnam in particular, unless he was somehow involved with the creation of the Nightmare of Menesis before turning into a beast.

Why would he have to be involved with Nightmare of Mensis? Yharnam is at the bottom of the labyrinth, in the final chalice dungeon. He's in the chamber above her. Presumably, when the scourge caught up with him, he went back down there to see if he could reverse it. Perhaps he went to her for answers, but perished before reaching her.

Again, we have two unique assets — a beast skull cleaved in half, confirmed to be Laurence's, and a beast body cleaved in half. They're the only assets like this in the game. They probably are like this for a reason.

I"m not saying it's not Laurence, I'm saying it raises new questions.

Ah, OK. Yeah, we can only speculate (as with many things in this game). Assuming it's him (which seems likely), the question is, "Why go down into the chalice dungeons," and like I said, my guess is he thought the answer to his predicament could be found with the dungeon's oldest denizen, Queen Yharnam. But I don't know for sure.

I wonder what else was cut for the plot. I do recall beast mode being a huge secret with speculation.
Yep, for a large part of the beginning of my playthrough, i was wondering when i was going to activate beast mode on people. But it never happened. *sad trombone* :(

I can see we're not all seeing eye to eye on our interpretation of the chalice dungeons, but that's fine. I think it's clear they're part of the main story, right down to the fact you access them from the Hunter's Dream.

At any rate, I do wonder what the DLC might explore.

The Chalice Dungeons are absolutely part of the main story, the item description in those Chalices is enough to tell you that, and Gehrman himself tells you to go there, & that other hunters go there as a "communion", Ebrietas was first contacted there, Queen Yharnam can be found there, after finishing Patches' quest he goes there, the dungeons themselves match the chalices' description thematically.

There's absolutely nothing to suggest that the CD are not part of the main story, the CD's are actually the origin of the entire story, it's most likely where Willem found the old blood.

EDIT: Yeah, & the Tomb Prospector set states that people wear it on behalf of the healing church to explore the dungeons.

Yeah, that's what I was saying earlier. I think it's clear they're linked.

No, but there are some other Demon's SOuls references like the arcane slugs and the fluted armor in chalices.

People went crazy about Maiden in Black voice actor being in the game and started to speculate that inmediately then Umbasa happened, I want to belive Dark Souls will end in the world covered in dark and being a better candidate for demon souls stuff

I like to thing that the
slug
ending implies that you will eventually become the old one from the world of Demon's Souls. At the end of BB you become a
baby great one
and in Demon's you're the equivalent of a 5 year old BB great one.

What has he plagiarized?

He basically loves to lurk on reddit and /vg/ and steal all their lore theories and data compilation the comunity put togheter.

This reddit guy for example, known as "Redgrave",made an 89 pages essay about bloodborne called "The Paleblood hunt" compiling everything the comunity was able to find, togheter with miyazaki's interviews,ENB guide info and some of his own interpretation about the game's lore.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1k7ST7Ysc9I3s6zLXr-DOzWjoAtu6afOOCaU3ucCdBDk/preview?sle=true

Vaati literally used this essay word by word to make "his" lore video without even mentioning redgrave or the sources of this essay.

Vaati also copy cat'd scenes from other people on youtube to make his lore video scenes.

My assumption is that the dlc will be about dolls. Creepy as hell dolls.

Forgot about this post.

We already have them, probably reusset assets but still

He is like Google News, collecting information and summarizing the contents from the community.
I read stuff around the net too, but honestly, I never placed a name onto where the information came from. And even while watching VV video, I knew I read it somewhere, but the video was more like adding more evidences on top of what I read...Like an echo chamber.

New era media where one person from the community gets paid and everything can be gathered/generated by that community is a really new concept for this form of entertainment, just like the drama over corporation doing take down notice of Let's Play stuff in the beginning.
It will take time to resolve because if you give information to the community freely, why couldn't someone use that free information to spread it more to other fans of that community to create more interest in the series?

I am rambling on, but I don't mind what VV is doing if he helps spread the words out.
Yes, it would be great to know where he got or 'copied' his information from.
But everything is so mixed up with how freely the community shares information...it is like separating oil and water to find out if VV did came up with his idea or someone else did.

Within the first few minutes he's already throwing out stuff as like "Well of course it's like this ..." when that 89 page essay thing has a much better and more realistic idea on Eileen.

First recruited when the Workshop was in it's infancy? As in - she's been around since Laurence and Willem and all then were still together? Nah dude. You failed already. The in game description of the blades talks about them being handed down from one Hunter of Hunters to another...

nice try though Vat. All his videos do is make me sad that ENB has said he's decided to hold off on making the lore vid because he doesn't want his insider knowledge and interpretation to have an effect on the BB communities Lore hunt. Come on dude!! If you don't do it all we're gonna get is more shit like this!!

yeah dude that's not reused assets, those are new assets designed to look like the existing character. There's more to the doll than what we see in most of the game, stuff that isn't fully elaborated on. She has a connection to the old ones and we'll probably find out a few minor things in the dlc.

He plagiarized from the huge lore writeup my boy DMCRedgrave did and some other stuff.

More people should be taking a look at this.

Look at the youtube video in the link and the follow up video.

It's pretty damning. There's no wiggle room here.

He'll probably continue to get away with and make money off on blatant plagiarism because he makes pretty videos and sounds nice.

For what it's worth (very little) I'm unsubscribing from his channel. I would hope that others would do the same upon seeing this.

Google only do search and provide you a link to the actual source. He STEALS. Know the difference. I can't believe there are GAFers defending thieves.

Excuses will be made because people generally don't want to go against someone they really like even if they know they are doing something wrong.

It's expected, but still just as disgusting.

I like the running theory where all the Souls games are these elaborate experiments on how to make a new King's Field game while actually not making one.
=p

Oh my god almighty.....mind blown O.O

Okay this is new to me :O

Yeah someone from redit make the discovery and later on Gaf lore thread, never been that close to see that similaritiy, poor dolls.

Still I hate those enemies

She is just a tool as Gerhman suggested, maybe powered by the Dream/nightmare host
