Which Beta? They have had about a millionI played the beta and totally forgot about it.
Thousands of games and running windows. You know how many times I have wanted to play games on my 75 inch tv but there was no way I was going to move my rig? I can't cant even count them all. This device resolves that issue.Wow seven-twenty-pee?!1!
Makes sense. Will be interesting if they've taken I/O into account.Might be 12u compatible but think the storage size is still technically too small for direct storage. I don't think the current Microsoft store is supported in proton as well
In what twilight zone universe you expect a small battery powered device to run for more than 5 minutes, if you expect it to play something Doom Eternal at mid/high settings @UHD?That's not something to tout as a good thing in order to excuse the piss poor resolution (if it only does 720p).
Yeah people seem to forget people where happy buying Witcher 3,Doom Eternal and Dragon Quest 11 on Switch if your already invested in steams library you don't have to make a choice between a switch version or your pc version if you get one of these.I mean, okay, sure, when compared to current-gen top of the line hardware, this isn't very powerful.
But it's an open platform that can run essentially PC's entire catalog + emulators + anything else a PC can do, all in a portable form factor. It's honestly incredible. At $50 more than Switch OLED at 4x the power and 100000x the library... I'm not sure how this looks outright bad.
Yuuuuup. They themselves have said it's basically a small PC with a controller attached to it. So, when you buy one, think of it as a PC and it can be treated as such. Pretty damn wild.Apparently you can use it as a regular PC so GAMEPASS HERE WE COME!!!!!
A screen with a higher resolution would mean less battery life and bigger price. That's not something to tout as a good thing in order to excuse the piss poor resolution (if it only does 720p).
Anyway that'll be my two cents! Clearly I'm in the minority so I won't piss on yer parade!![]()
Would 40$ be a better price for you? WTF man, pay to play fucker. LolThis looks promising. I want one but man that is not a price I want to pay.
its a pc, you can do the same on it, install anything you want, connect keyboard and mouse also. any usb based peripheral will work, you can even install windows if you wantSo... this is more appealing than a laptop because...?
And before you say "It's $400." I can actually do meaningful work on my laptop and get paid for it.
It's another way to play Steam games in a handheld form factor specifically for gaming. Not sure what's confusing about this vs a laptop.So... this is more appealing than a laptop because...?

That would be a great price tag.Would 40$ be a better price for you? WTF man, pay to play fucker. Lol![]()
Looking forward to play those games there.I wonder how well Horizon: Zero Dawn or Days Gone runs on this thing, and how much more the Sony fans are gonna be triggered by their precious exclusives being portable.
You can install windows on this.So... this is more appealing than a laptop because...?

Luckily I live in a first world country so my employer provided me with my work laptop and mobile.So... this is more appealing than a laptop because...?

This video seems to imply they are making a pretty substantial loss on each unit, but going for it anyway:

It's going to sellout for a long time. $400 is an excellent price for a handheld like this. This will fail hard, especially at that price.
Just another post saying WFT at that control and button placement.
Oh dang, you're right, I've been shopping for a beater laptop and keep having to stop myself from a decent price because of the eMMC. I can deal with flexible specs and scaling graphics here and there to be livable, but the waiting on a slow storage drive would drain my lifeforce.Word of advice if anyone is interesting in this don't buy the 64GB model until it's confirmed it can be easily upgraded to a SSD or you'll regret it. It's eMMC rather than a SSD so we're talking SD card speeds.
If you have a established Steam library, the Deck makes more sense than buying a Nintendo Switch. the PC/Switch dual gamer are effectively dead with this thing coming out.
Now I need more info on ergonomics and performance, but this thing is crazy.

I'm going for the top tier one simply because I'll probably be able to get it. The $400 version will be sold out immediately.Preordering the 512gb version for sure.

Form factor probably more appealing to some. A laptop form factor is like being forced to play a Switch in table top mode all the time.So... this is more appealing than a laptop because...?

This is a PC. It can run more Nintendo games than the Switch can.Maybe if it cost $199 and had first party exclusives like the Switch.
Runs windows game through proton, you could always install windows on it, as valve has said.So it doesn't have Windows, but does it run any PC game or only Linux ones?
