The demos almost universally ran on GTX 680s, which are vastly more powerful than either the PS4 or XB1's GPUs.
Jesus.
That card costs more than the PS4 does itself. lol

what is thisss
What we are getting is modern bullshots but in video form.
You cant trust anything you see at E3 anymore.. specially from Ubisoft.
Also I doubt it will look as good on PC either.. they will look downscaled across the board cause their expectations were to high for them. Look at Farcry 3 demo at E3 and what finally came out.
Snapshot from youtube of a rapidly edited teaser resulting in terrible compression. The monster design is promising though.
This is the first generation where consoles won't be temporarily more power than PCs at launch. For what is being charged these consoles are quite weak.
Again, there was a lot of blind hate at SE for showing the same tech demo at the Sony Meeting back in February but lots of people overlooked the moment of importance was when they said "it is running on the PS4" (instead of a high end PC). Best display of next gen capabilities so far.
That said, what percent of gamers have a GTX680 ?
Best illustration of damage control ever![]()
people didn't overlook they just didn't believe it.
Question is why publishers see nothing wrong with showcasing the games and marketing them with footage that's not close to be representative of the final product w\o explicitly saying so?
There should be repercussion for this type of deception.
People are just getting "finished" dev kits. We are dealing with 1.0 version SDKs and a first exposure at the hardware. Compare a Perfect Dark to Gears of War 3 or Resistance to Last of Us. It's going to take a round or two of games before we really see what the hardware is capable of.
Wait until next fall when we start getting the first non-cross-gen games that had schedules that weren't insane and we'll see what the consoles can really do.

PCs have superior hardware?
Wait. Are you really saying the console version look worse than the PC counterpart?
Is this the first time you see PC games?
Woah, my brain.
What in the fucking hell is that lol
What in the fucking hell is that lol
There is no downgrade in the two Watch_Dogs screens provided.
Don't insult Legend of Grimrock.Legend of grimrock 2!
Really, You don't see the difference in Bokeh DOF or the ground textures?
How do you know the DOF in the first image isn't post-processed? The first image is an obvious bullshot built and set specifically to look good. I thought everyone had learnt to filter these out by now.
According to steam hardware survey, about 1.11%. 10% still uses Intel gpus which is pretty unfortunate

I'd say Gears of war came out and blew everything away, Even on PC at the time.
What in the fucking hell is that lol
PC version of Watch Dogs won't look as good as the reveal, it's just Ubi being Ubi.
You can expect the same for the Division "demo".
UE4 is a little bit deceptive, because it was originally demonstrated exclusively on PC hardware, and the engine itself has (apparently) seen chops to the rendering since the original debut, across all platforms, due to performance issues.
Well there was that Bokeh DOF present in the initial gameplay reveal from E3 2012.
And how does one screen prove its sudden absence?
Yeah that's why most comments where in the nature of "Useless SE showed the exact same thing again". Yoshihisa Hashimoto said that this time it was running on a PS4 and what we saw was almost identical to the high end PC demo.

Build one, get a 360 controller + wireless adaptor and plug it in to your TV. Best decision you'll ever make.
It's not present in any gameplay footage since then unless you'd like to point it out.
