Why would a summer release be suicide? Alot of PS4 and XB1 owners will be looking for something to play with a thin library to choose from.

It won't release in the current financial year, so it's pretty much impossible to launch before March. The earliest will be April, but then Ubisoft would need to start their marketing machine in the coming weeks.

There's no reason a May or June release would be worse than April. Look at Red Dead and TLoU.

If they could get it out by April they would move it forward a couple of weeks to March and get it out before the end of their Fiscal year. No way we see it before May.

It's speculated (or did a reputable source confirm it?) that the game was delayed because the mock reviews they received from testers/third party company were below Ubisofts tolerance.

People saying it was due to GTA are crazy. Ubisoft knew that was coming and could have delayed much earlier and saved themselves that massive stock hit they received due to it.

Watch Dogs was always weird to me because I remember the most recent convention for games here - which was as late as October, showcased it but it wasn't playable in any form.

Yeah its a bit of a hyperbole but when it comes to video games I'd rather wait a few months for a more polished product than an early buggy release. Tons of games, not just EA ones, should have had more time in the oven.

Yeah, Blowny right now is really hurting with the momentum. I heard retailers are begging to have customers buy the PS4 to make space for other devices.

If we're comparing it to Assassin's Creed, that title had a lot going for it which made it really distinct - the design, the concept, the settings, etc.

Watch_Dogs conversely feels like a GTA clone and little more than that. What honestly separates it from Sleeping Dogs, or Saints Row, or Prototype, or inFamous?

Maybe I'm not paying enough attention, but that's something Ubisoft really will need to demonstrate to consumers.

That jaw dropping E3 demo from two and a half years ago seems like a completely different game than what they've been demoing over the last 12 months. Sounds more and more like this is going to be another simplistic Ubi open world title with a handful of tricks that you'll see within the first few hours and then be tasked with repeating for a dozen more.

Honestly there is nothing else targeted at June right now, so if this becomes the big game of the summer which it could then they'll be just fine, the hardware bundle will still arrive. As others said Sony didnt really need watchdogs to sell the ps4 just yet.

And of course the PS4 and XBONE will have many more consoles than that of Nov 2013. Seems like in the end with more polish and with the sales of current systems selling like they are now, it will benefit the game in the end for us all.
