I make a femrented fruit, rum, and molasses mixture to attract moths, then put up a couple of sheets and very bright lights. The combination will attract hundreds to thousands of insects. I photograph them and attempt to identify them.

It feed the collector part of my brain, and gives me something to do late at night while drinking beer. Best part, I get to stay at alot of state parks/state resorts for free in exchange for setting up a moth program for residents/park visitors.

(None of these photos are of my setup as I am on mobile, but pretty closely match them)
Bug whisperer

Probably commands them to do tasks

Skateboard

Yoyo

Foreign language

Motorcycles

Snowboarding

Gardening

Harmonica

That's pretty much it. Obviously I like books and music and such but that's not really a hobby to me.

Games, movies, anime, etc.
I sometimes wish I had a hobby that was more creation than consumption but I never really learned any skills like that and I'm always too tired after work to want to put in the effort to. :/

I play pool.
But mainly my hobbie is to enjoy life.

Watching movies (and frequently being indecisive on what to watch).

Video games sometimes.

Reading books and comics.

Creating film adaptations of books and comics in my mind, down to the smallest detail, and then getting frustrated at myself because I suck at writing these ideas down on paper.

Researching different aspects of film production (it's my passion and something I'm trying to pursue as a career).

Gym was one but I've fallen out of it because of current lack of any type of routine.

Buying action figures like once every 10,000 years.

Gaming
Mostly retro and indie games lately, BotW aside, but also a lot of time building stuff in games like Starbound.

Game Design
Just hobbyist stuff, analyzing games I'm playing, tinkering with concepts and testing them out in Construct, etc. Purely for fun and my own amusement.

Reading
Sporadically, usually I'll get sucked into a series, devour it, then not read much for a month or two.

Drawing
Mostly just doodles lately, used to spend hours doing digital stuff in Photoshop.

I'd like to take up a musical instrument at some point but I'm in an apartment and it's never a priority. I avoid doing any kind of collecting because it just ends up feeling like clutter.

Videogames
Collecting guns from WWII
Shooting guns from WWII
WWII reenactment
Volunteer work

I draw and hate everything I put to paper. But Im striving to get better, trying to make it more than just a hobby.

I collect 52 deck playing cards.

I buy every variant of Spider-Man in the marvel legends action figure lineup.

Moths can get pretty damn large. ;)

Sadly most of the larger moths are also very sensitive to the kinds of insecticides that people like to spray on their yards. :(
This would kill me, It may sound stupid but i'm terrified of large moths. I ran into one as a kid while it was flapping violently in a bush. I think it was stuck, so I approached it because I originally thought it was a bird but when i saw it up close I screamed and ran like my life depended on it. Now they just freak me out despite me knowing they're harmless (and I would never harm one or condone it)

Reading (both regular books and comics)

Playing guitar (badly)

Exercising (I guess, if you can call it a hobby)

Also, recently started to get into auto repair, and the idea of woodworking. I say "idea" because I haven't started the woodworking yet, but now that I have a decent garage, these are things that I can now do with little hassle.

Draw, read books, weight lift, walk, video games, football, gundam.

I was doing meditation but that shit is real and I got scared away from it. I found some deep emotional shit, and I looked into other people's experiences and it was the same (they started crying, they started remembering negative memories, they started to feel anger everyday for no reason).

So fuck meditation.

Anyways, I'm looking into Yoga, maybe some stretching and breathing in the mornings to start my day.

What kind of meditations were you dealing with? I've been at it several years and my experiences have been nothing but positive. I'm wondering if this was run of the mill mindfulness meditation or something else.

Postcrossing!

Get yourself a book of stamps and a couple of postcards from your local store/souvenir stand/Amazon and start snail-mailin' with people all across the world.

I got a postcard from a lady in Bandung, Indonesia on Friday. Tomorrow I'm sending out a card to a university student in Hangzhou, China. It's a one-off thing, not an ongoing penpal, so every postcard goes to/comes from someone new.

Comics
Messing around in Photoshop and making avatars for gaffers.
Taking my dog places so she can have fun
Video games #1 though obviously

Pub trivia.

Just won tonight actually. Not only do I take pride in winning, but also having the smallest team.

As someone with a box of around 700 weird vintage postcards, I am so down for this.

Retro and modern video games... Nah, I'm kidding, I hate those things. I don't even own one of those 'game players' and I'd never join some kind of forum about them or anything just ewwww....

I also write music and play guitar and synth-y stuff. I'm on an electro jazz and jazz hop kick at the moment. Love learning some music theory concepts and such too.

Other than that, I got nothin'....

Weightlifting
I'm a pretty small guy, so I tend to gravitate towards individual sports. Lifting makes me feel powerful and it's good for you. Personally, I've grown more confident and love how I look in tight shirts.

Magic: the Gathering
This is honestly the most expensive game I've ever played, if you include things like travel, autographs, and event fees. But I've made a lot of friends in this community and matches are always thrilling in legacy games.

Furry fandom
Despite popular belief, furries have got to be some of the most creative and kind people I've met. We can go on and on about handcrafting a suit, designing a character, or dancing the night away at a convention. It's a shame certain factions of the internet have ganged up on this mostly well meaning and diverse group of people.

K-Pop
You might laugh, but the production value and choreography in some of those music videos rival the vast majority of western pop artists. There's a lot of different groups out there, so there's always a new album to listen to. Another positive is that korean music is way more accessible through Spotify/Youtube than Japanese music, which is known to be quite an insular industry.

Eyyyy! Y'ever made your way down here for TFF?

Cars
Guns
Video games
Building PCs
Scale models of cars and Gunpla
Oddly enough gardening? I take really good care of my orange, lemon, lime, and guava trees because free food.

Edit: Gym but I dont know if that counts because its more of a weekly routine I have to do then something I like doing lol.

Texas Furry Fiesta. I'd love to attend MFF regularly, but jeez do those hotel rooms sell out fast.

I'm afraid not. I don't know too much about Dallas to be honest, but I might consider making the trip now that RainFurrest and RMFC are both cancelled.

Electronic music/audio work, massage therapy, gaming, book reading, tv watching, podcasting, slight amount of writing, thinking, just started getting into collecting funko pops with my girlfriend

I'm teaching myself to play guitar in my free time. I'm 3 months into it. It's one hell of a ride. Ups and downs every day. Mostly downs.

Gaming obviously lol.
My favorite game series is Zelda i have a Imp Midna and Wolf Link tatttoo getting one more Midna's human like form on my ribs. I'm glad i have a great tattoo artist they all look fantastic it sure costed a bit but whatever.

Watching TV:
Movies i like to watch action, horror, thriller, adventure, comedy and sci fi.
Series: Walking Dead, Super Natural, NCIS, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Hannibal, Grimm, and Blacklist.
Anime: Dragonball Z (Super), Death Note, One Piece, Naruto, Avatar.
Sports on tv: Darts and soccer i watch these with my dad too we also watch movies from timw to time whenever i visit him.

Hanging and going out with friends to a club, bar, movies or game together.

Fitness: 3-4 times a week, weightlifting situps, pushups, pullups etc. Might go to a gym later but for now i am fine i have some equipment at home.

Biking: i enjoy cycling 2-3 times a week especially during summer. I go most of the times with a friend so thats nice.

Browsing the internet, really like that and helps me with my adhd to keep from getting bored if i need to wait somewhere or just have nothing to do.

I also like to make my own dishes to eat but i nearly never do that but i do want to start and learn proper cooking skills soon.

Also one thing i want to make a hobby soon is making fanart/nice drawings and improve my drawing skills, they are horrible lol but i will put the dedication in it and will keep trying. Stylefull games and art have me made interested in doing this.

Oh and i want to learn to play a instrument someday.

That's pretty much it:P

Writing and forgetting to eat. Both balance out nicely with my true passion of forgetting to exercise...

The writing is mostly horror and fantasy.

  • Reading and collecting books (especially "weird fiction")
  • Listening to music, mostly into classical and folk music right now
  • Classic films
  • Learning about Biology and History
  • Occasionally going to see plays at the local theater
  • Hiking and walking
  • Admiring artwork, Art History, and Drawing. I'm particularly interested in the old Masters, 19th century art and "fantastic realism".
Sorry for potato quality

I like to consider GAF a hobby. I don't play nearly as much as I used to but still enjoy keeping up to date on the game industry.

Other than that.

- pool/billiards
- gardening
- woodworking
- skateboarding
- hiking
- fishing

Uses to hit up an indoor rock climbing centre and have had a big urge to get back into that as of late.

Browsing the internet
Playing fighting games badly
Watching Gundam and building Gunpla
Going to clubs
Collecting and learning about porn, specifically the Japanese industry, their actors have such interesting stories.
Forgetting I own a bicycle
Reading comics

Would like to start learning how to dj to add to the list.
and Gardening.

I got a plant from one of my students at the end of last year and its pretty enjoyable to go home every afternoon and see its progress and bloom-age.
