Myself personally I never went for Plus. I was satisfied with the basic service as is and have pretty much stayed that way since launch. It's just when companies do something like this it feels to me as if it's there way of saying, "Hey, everything is as good as its going to be so we'll throw in some extras and call it a night". I'd rather they draw people in by constantly improving the service itself and upgrading and/or integrating new concepts and ideas to make it more than simply competitive with something like Live for example.
but I find the idea of not being able to play my PS+ free titles in the future or offline unsettling.
You can play them offline.
Yes.from my understanding you get to keep these games and play them for free so long as you remain subscribed to PS+.
So you think if Sony improved their online service they should hide the better version and the best features behind the Plus paywall? I don't understand the reasoning.
Fair enough, I still find their nature of "free but only as long as you're subbed" unsettling.
Oh come on just chek the store on wednesday or thursday lolPlayStation Plus.
Pros: Discounts for games and keep them permanent, "rental" of games at no extra cost provided you are an active subscriber
Cons: If you are in North America, Grace Chen Time.
But isn't that what they are already doing with Plus in the first place? I'm saying if they are going to be competitive and convince more people to pay for Plus I would hope they would focus on the service itself rather than simply attention grabbers like hey come get your free copy of Chronovault.
Lemme ask you folks, here's an issue I have. Were I to sign up for PS+ right now, would I gain access to past benefits or only those going forward?
Is it unsettling that you don't get to watch your Netflix streaming movies when you cancel your Netflix subscription? It's the same principle.
Only going forward. You can only pick up PS+ freebies while subscribed. That's kind of the hook: the longer you stay subscribed, the bigger your pile grows.Lemme ask you folks, here's an issue I have. I can only understand the hesitation when it comes to people who have gym memberships and never go, and have rentals but never watch them and end up with late fees. It's a use it or lose it thing, doesn't suit everyone but the terms are fair however you cut it.Is it unsettling that you don't get to watch your Netflix streaming movies when you cancel your Netflix subscription? But the whole point of Plus is the free games, early access to demos and awesome discounts. I don't understand how that is wrong.

But that means since I didn't sign up day 1, I'll never get the full value of the service.
Us plus are gettin sleepy dogs in may.Why is Sleeping Dogs on that Reddit list? I thought that was a UK Plus only freebie? Otherwise seems like a legit list for NA Plus

Rumor is that eu are actually gettin dark souls so its digital release is forthcomingI hear Demon's Souls is coming to EU PS+ soon too
But that means since I didn't sign up day 1, I'll never get the full value of the service.
Not really. If you signed up a year ago, you have a pretty healthy backlog of games to choose from.
If you sign up today, you will accumulate a lot of games within the span of a year
Technically yes. People who started subscribing earlier will always have more games to play. But that means since I didn't sign up day 1, I'll never get the full value of the service.
Ironically, PS+ is most valuable for gamers who aren't day one buyers.
If you're willing to wait a while, you'll often find that the game is discounted or made "free" later on down the line.
I was going to buy Hitman Absolution, but was playing a lot of other games at the time. Next thing I know, it's a featured game on PS+. Sweet deal.
Plus has conditioned me to never, ever buy a Vita game on release day.
