What should be the next HD title Nintendo makes?

No more. New games only please.

But if they must, it should be something good like Metroid Prime trilogy

christ, if anything, they need to crank out a decent new IP. Seems like they forgot what to do with there old IP's. If they just start cranking out HD remakes I'm sure the Nintendo faithful will be lining up for that garbage.

I'd really like a Majora's Mask remake. A 3DS remake with Ocarina of Time 3D feels more natural though.

I wouldn't mind HD remakes of Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword with less hand holding and improved graphics though.

Xenoblade. No other answer comes close to how much I want this.

Plus, get the game out PROPERLY this time instead of just letting GameStop abuse it.

I would love to see a Skyward Sword HD remake with all the love and care they've given the Wind Waker HD remake. Take out the obnoxious walls of text, fix all the little stuff, make it a proper gamepad game and no motion controls, etc.

Also, if Nintendo has any rights to Skies of Arcadia Legends from the GameCube I'd love to see a HD remake of that more than anything.

Absolutely Xenoblade HD. If they want to sell any copies of X, they had better create a downloadable version with improved menus, 60 fps, and better level scaling for people who grind quests.

Full HD remake of Super Mario 64

New textures, lighting, models, etc.
This x1000

A full true to source remake of SM64 or OoT is about the only thing that would get me interested in Nintendo again. Nintendo of the N64 era is in a whole other league when compared to what they have been putting out for the last decade now. OoT 3D was a pretty good remake, and sold me on a 3DS, but I want full HD remakes of their N64 lineup with orchestrated versions of all of the classic music, not this wah wah BS.

Nintendo actually making a new Mario game that feels like SM64 did would be nice as well, but I've lost all hope on that. They seem pretty set in making worlds made up of disjointed floating islands.

that would be neat but I'm honestly shocked at this point that they haven't thrown an "HD" version of Mario 64 DS onto the eshop for $10 or something. OOT 3D and Star Fox 64 3D should get there too, eventually.

Playing those games with a 3DS dpad or circle pad is painful =(

The only games I'd really want to replay can be played on my Wii U already. Sure they won't look as great, but I won't have to buy them again. I'd rather they just released new stuff in their franchises.

Both Mario Galaxies and the Metroid Prime Trilogy should be priorities if they want to continue in this direction..

The Pikmin games and F-Zero GX would be awesome, too.

Really, Galaxy didn't do anything for you? Color me shocked. Really surprised to hear someone call the N64 their best lineup, most people consider it the worst.

Twilight Princess, then both Galaxies, and Sunshine, and Skyward Sword, and everything else, they could really use a studio who's sole job is just remaking games in HD whilst adding new things to them.

Sin and Punishment 1&2 HD.

Both games using Wii Motion+

That would kick ass.

Kid Icarus

This, too, would kick ass.
Touchscreen Or Wiimote controls as an option please.

you could argue that NSMBU was a HD remake & so was Pikmin 3

I could not convincingly argue that.

Why? Sprites > HD

Okay, but HD sprites > sub-HD sprites?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OT: I want Mario 64 HD.
Also, a tweaked Sunshine HD would be rad.
Eternal Darkness.
DKC Trilogy HD.
Xenoblade.
Super fucking Metroid.

There are others I'd buy, but those are the top of the list of what I want.

If Nintendo teamed up and brought us Skies of Arcadia HD...I'd be content. More realistically though I could go for some Metroid Prime.

Nintendo's N64 First-Party line up might go down as their best string of games ever. EAD specifically was just on another level at the time. Their GameCube output seemed skewed to a younger audience, and their Wii output went "pop" for the big bucks.

F-Zero X. Majora's Mask. 1080 Snowboarding. Star Fox 64. Wave Race 64, and others disappeared. I miss EAD.

I just don't understand why there can't be a balance and why remasters are such a "waste". That's what really confounds me (aside from being a killjoy in a fun thread)

I primarily just disagreed about the effort required being comparable to remastered movies. But I'd still rather see virtual console releases of GC/Wii games since it would require less effort (therefore we should see more of them) and be cheaper on us. Since most games don't need (or don't really support) changes like WWHD got it's basically the same thing aside from rendering resolution, and HD isn't worth $30 per game to me, especially when I already own the game in question.

Adding online to F-Zero or Smash Bros would at least make those sort of games somewhat worthwhile (though I couldn't care less about that addition).

Edit: And N64 games are actually rendered in higher resolution on Wii, so maybe VC GC/Wii games could be rendered in higher resolution which would be even better.

Melee and F-Zero GX are very fast games. I'm not sure online play would be feasible for them. They weren't designed for online play.

They should throw -all- their games on the Wii U eShop in 1080p. And maybe do a Wind Waker HD style remake for old games that ran like crap. Or actually I can't remember Nintendo games running like crap. Mainly Rare games that had horribly low framerates.

I'd just love to play Wii games that shoved motion controls down your throat in glorious HD and on the Pro controller. The Mario Galaxy games for example. Please 1080p re-release those!

Metroid Prime Trilogy
Eternal Darkness
Xenoblade Chronicles (and its "cousin", The Last Story)
F-Zero GX (with online mp)

In that order.

they're doing wii sports club, so i think they know it's a good way to fill out their library while original games are on the way. twilight princess hd would be freakin' awesome. super mario galaxy/2 would be all right. metroid prime hd would be okay too. kinda hard to just pick any ol game since most of their best ones are pretty recent. i guess super mario sunshine would make sense as it's over a decade old and could use some touch up in how game progression works. of course it goes against nintendo's recent push for multiplayer in mario.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
Skyward Sword
Metroid Prime Trilogy

They really can't go wrong with these.

I'd like to see Mario Sunshine as well but not sure how they would get around the no analog triggers on the gamepad.

I agree with everyone about F-Zero GX getting an HD remaster. That game would translate well, and I think it would be the next best thing to getting a new game in the series, since Nintendo doesn't seem to want to make one.

Otherwise, give me Star Fox HD or Metroid HD (new titles).

New game, new franchise, something new! or resurrecting an older franchise or taking an existing franchise and doing something new to it.

You guys asking for Wii and Gamecube games are fools. The graphics are not bad at all. Not even close to bad. In fact F-Zero GX looks superbly awesome to me with component cables.

People continue to bitch about Nintendo doing the same thing over and over, but then you keep asking for shit like HD re-makes / updates. They listen, they release, and then people bitch that it's just a re-make or an HD update.

Luigi's Mansion seems like a real possibility, considering the success of the 3DS version. They couldn't get away with $50, but a New Super Luigi pricing structure would be fair ($19.99 download, $29.99 disc).

There was a Warioware game (the Wii one?) that remade the 1st level of the SNES Star Fox at 60 fps just for the heck of it. So I'm thinking if the Virtual Console won't release it due to FX Chip rights issues, finish the job and release it that way.

I also of course concur with F-Zero GX in HD with online. I wonder if they could tweak controls to handle the non-analog Gamepad in a satisfactory way?

If there's gonna be a Wii U drought and the Zelda WW remake only took 6 months, this could be a way to plug in some titles. They also need to attack the Virtual Console harder and try to get some existing 360/PS3 software as reasonably priced eShop downloads -- both indies and full releases. Those wouldn't be huge hits but software diversity (and quantity) is important to attract consumers.

You're comparing the wants and complaints of different people. Besides, who wouldn't want F-Zero GX in 1080P? If Nintendo is not going to make a new F-Zero, which they have stated that they don't have interest in, then an HD up-port would suffice. Better to get something while we're all waiting for Nintendo's other big hitters. It's not like the Wii-U has so many games to play that we don't know what to do with. HD ports use considerably less resources and take less time to put out. I'm fine with getting a few of them myself.

I somewhat agree with this. While the N64 was a console that suffered from huge drought, the games that Nintendo put out on it were pretty groundbreaking. People have to realize, this was the first time we had a lot of 3D versions of major Nintendo games. Many people refer to Super Mario 64 and Zelda OoT as setting the bar for 3D platforming at the time. That is why Nintendo's lineup for the N64 can be argued as one of the best, when the console itself was actually severely lacking.

You say this as if it's one or the other. Nintendo is fully capable of having different teams work on different projects, whether they be new games or HD collections/remasters. They could even try outsourcing the projects to another developer, maybe Bluepoint Games given their track record.
