What should be the next HD title Nintendo makes?

I'd imagine they could easily squeak out a Mario 64 remake using many of the 3D World assets. Sell it for $30, and mister you've got yourself a deal!

But yeah, please Nintendo, all hands on deck for original games. PLEASE.

Metroid Prime Trilogy.
Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword Collection
Super Mario Galaxy Collection.

I'd pay $60 for each. Don't care what you all say.

Rather than a remake or HDified version Nintendo need to give us a new Fatal Frame. The GamePad will make a perfect Camera Obscura.

As far as remakes goes I guess we're likely to see Majora's Mask on the 3DS next, F-Zero GX for the Wii U and maybe a Super Mario Galaxy Collection (Universe?).

I, like some above, agree that they shouldn't focus too much time making HD remakes. They are never going to make the Wii U popular by upgrading 10 year old games.

It's not about making it popular, and if every other publisher can do HD remakes, why can't Nintendo?
They don't need much time or a big studio. They already have a few engines that will make these get done pretty quick. They're cheap to make and will turn a profit easily.
There's no reason they can't do both.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 already looks alright in HD.

I'd rather have a game like Xenoblade or something from GameCube. Maybe Twilight Princess.

Edit: I mean SMG2 already looks alright on an HDTV.

F-Zero or Sunshine would make more since since they have sat away for quite a while. Melee doesn't need one since we are getting Smash U. Galaxy isn't that old and still looks damn good, plus it's playable on a Wii U already. Twilight Princess needed a remake more than Wind Waker, but let it sit until next gen. We already have a new Zelda coming for the Wii U.

You think they're going to trust Hexadrive with making a new game for them?

I want Mario Sunshine HD :x

How do we implement the triggers for water? I guess gyro?

F-Zero GX and Metroid Prime. GX is one of the best racers I've ever played, and Prime is one of the best games I've ever played. PERIOD.

Sunshine would be ok too. One of the weakest Marios IMO, but I'd like to give it another shot and that'd make all console Mario's playable on Wii U.

F-ZERO GX! but I would prefer new games instead.

Considering it took them 6 months to do zelda with additions and tweaks, it think it's safe to say it wouldn't take nearly as long to do something like Fzero. You can have new games and a remake as well.

I would say F-Zero GX but I'd rather them make a new game. Also those single-player cutscenes wouldn't hold up to todays standards and would need to be redone which at that point the effort should just be put into something that isn't a remake.

Punch Out!!
Kid Icarus
F-Zero
Wario Land
The Mysterious Murasame Castle
New IP

Metroid II

Belongs to a beloved series, but has been played by very few people. Could benefit immensely from some gameplay tweaks.

Easily Twilight Princess. Game looks like ass on HD sets.

5 pages later but ... bad choice. They would have to completely redo the textures, which would take a massive amount of time. In Wind Waker, since the textures are mostly flat color, they left them alone and focused on having new shaders and higher polycount models, thats much easier work than re-texturing.

If you apply that same method to TP? It wouldnt look good, you would still have that ugly spotty grass texture, except now it would be sharp and extremely more noticeable. They would need to have a grass system like kyrim, Crysis or The Witcher and, again, thats very time consuming.

Most 3D Mario's (64, Sunshine, Galaxy), F-Zero GX, Smash 64, Luigi's mansion ... all those would benefit from new shaders and lighting.

Wii could play GCN games and still got ports of Pikmin 2, DK Jungle Beat, Mario Tennis and the Metroid Prime games.

Do you think Nintendo would leave all that HD money lying on the table?

they got ports for control reasons.

I wish Nintendo was smart enough to allow the wiiu to upscale Wii games like that dolphin emulator has been doing for years. They wouldn't have to do HD Wii ports and it would have been a great bullet point.

Honestly I'd love a new ip that made good use of the Wii U tablet. One that would stand as am example for developers to follow when making a Wii u title.

Or just a new Wario Ware or Rhythm Tengoku.

I want new games, but if they want to put the interns on an HD remake, I'll take a mashup of Galaxy 1 and 2 with some levels that were on the cutting room floor improved and added.

I would legitimately rather they divert some resources to Metroid Prime 1 and 2 and Super Mario Sunshine instead of working on new games. After Prime 3 I'm not sure I'm on board with the direction they were going with Metroid, so I'm not confident a new game would be what I'm hoping for, but Metroid Prime 1 all redone in HD would be guaranteed to be sublime

I'm 99% sure that the Wii U just doesn't have the power to do this

i think skyward sword. I saw someone made a video of the game on dolphin emulator and the game looks incredible in HD. On the wii, the backgrounds looked like a blurry, ugly mess. But in HD it looks like a painting.

FFVII

Yep thats what I want to see.
Co -deveplope with SE and published by NIntendo.
I loved how Twin Snakes and Resident Evil worked out on the Game cube.
Now its time to do it with the one we all want to see :)

Too many too list, but I'd love to see them do more like WWHD especially with the Limited Edition Gannon Figure. Maybe do a couple collections and include a Limited Edition with bonus content/figures/artbooks/whatever.... Nintendo would own my wallet if they done LE/CE releases of their main franchises.

1. New games. No more remakes.

2. Galaxy (especially Galaxy 2) would control worse without the Wiimote. How you gonna run, jump, and aim Yoshi's tongue all at once with dual analog?

3. If they absolutely, positively have to remake a Nintendo game, then Ice Hockey.

Endless Ocean comes to mind. I think it could benefit from the gamepad, Miiverse and updated online infrastructure. Plus, it'd look damn beautiful. I can see it now!

Unfortunately, I don't envision that happening anytime soon, so a back-up choice would be Super Mario Galaxy, beacuse it's Super Mario Galaxy and it's great.

Metroid fucking Prime is the only correct answer to this question.
